While I'm extremely familiar with the Brattleboro area and even lived there for a while, for some reason I only just discovered the fantastic value and experience of staying at the Black Mountain Inn. From the reservation process to check out, everything was friendly, warm, and personal. The manager worked with me to accommodate my service animal, truly treating me like an honored guest and making me feel like I was home away from home! When I walked into the lobby, the kind and extremely friendly check in clerk welcomed me with all the information I needed, and my service pet companion and I were astonished at the absolutely BEAUTIFUL decor (for example, amazing local chainsaw art) and the koi pond and fish tank! I actually wanted to just hang out for my entire stay in this gorgeous lobby, meditating on the glorious exotic fish and snacking on the arrangement of fruit laid out for us! When we got to our room, again I was so impressed with how lovely, spacious, and tasteful it was. The furniture was beautiful, the fridge and microwave very helpful, the carpet was clean, and the wifi and TV worked well. The wonderful soft extra blanket on the bed was so comfortable, as were the pillows. This place is super convenient to all shopping and dining needs, walking distance from the circus school, and the parking lot feels safe and well lit. My only slight complaint is that the water pressure in the shower was very weak, but otherwise our stay was impeccable and as I told our hosts upon leaving, the Black Mountain Inn is without question my new favorite hotel in Brattleboro. I wish I had had time to swim in the pool, which looked sparklingly clean and VERY inviting, but I had to rush off to see a show at the circus school and didn't get a chance. Next time, for sure!
