Really nice hotel, was incredibly clean. Only issue we had was the walls were seemingly paper thin, and lots of people were drunkenly shouting. We called reception to ask if they could ask them to quiet down at around midnight, rhe noise continued until 1am. I went and asked reception again if they could speak with the noisy guests, but instead of speaking to them they just said we could change rooms. When it's 1am, you've already unpacked and only staying for one night; repacking and unpacking again isn't ideal. Did ruin the stay to be honest. Not the fault of the hotel that other guests were being loud, but would be nice if they'd have actually spoken to them instead of just offering to change our room in the middle of the night.

Dreadful. Are you serious? You charge £15 per breakfast??? Really have you eaten any of it? It was disgusting!!! you just didn't cope for the people who were staying. Your cereal options were very limited... corn flakes or bran flakes... not a lot of fresh fruit.. the cooked breakfast was raw... Shocking!!!! I really can't even describe how much is missing or just really sadly done in a very poor attempt!! Oh and for booking the restaurant.... are you an all inclusive? No... the hotel. no. Just no you can't book. But you can go into the bar and order the same food... okay thanks. Until you try... no the restaurant is no longer taking orders... what its not even late... the kitchen has 20 orders, they won't take any more... okay take the menus off the bar so that isn't an option. It wasn't late. Honestly you have a great location, your rooms are really old and showing it! Broken tiles.... mouldy baths and showers... Mold and mildew spray would be great... noone wants a shower/ bath that just had black mould everywhere.. honestly you are just putting people off. I can't see where any of the renovation has happened...in the different rooms I had booked... I will never choose to stay at this hotel again. O⁹h and the key cards that didn't work... oh sorry forgot the lack of water... no dispensers, none in the room... unless you want tap water. honestly you really need to look at what you're trying to sell... you're at the wrong end of what you think you provide... I personally recommend the citrus! At least they are interested!! This is possibly the worst the hotel I have stayed at for many years. I whole heartily recommend that this is not worth what they charge. If money had been invested... I can't see where. Tragic!!!

The window didn't open, there was no TV remote control and there insects in the room. They did offer to move rooms BUT the room shouldn't have been given to a guest in the first place.

Check in good, quite a walk to the rooms, not easy for my 87yr old relative (but to be fair I did not advise them). Room clean, bed comfortable and nice bedding. Pillows could be improved upon and need pillow protectors. Bathroom very tired and a bit mouldy in parts, needs an update but was OK. Because hard floors installed (understand why) but room felt very bare and my air con did not work.

I stayed for 2 nights solo for work and the staff made me feel so welcome. The lady who works in the restaurant with brown short hair and glasses gave really good service as did the young lad at dinner. Reception staff were really friendly and efficient and helped me with a request i had. Room was huge with a lovely view and had a bath and a seperate shower. I didnt use the spa but it looked lovely, i will be back!

Tired and in need of an update. Attended a business conference here overnight. Decor quite dated, dinner was nice but the lunch options were a bit eclectic. I was given a disabled access room in which the shower flooded the entire bathroom which I would suggest isn’t very safe for anyone with mobility issues. The bed was on wheels so rolled when I sat on it which again seemed a little odd for a disabled access room. I needed a meeting room to attend a private meeting during the conference and was told to use one of the upstairs rooms. None had been cleaned since last used so I sat surrounded by empty glasses and water bottles. The bar shut at 10.30 which seemed odd when there were 40+ people (all residents) still wanting to continue the evening. Not sure I would want to come back here for a conference and certainly wouldn’t choose it for spa weekend.

Stayed here for 2 nights last weekend with my husband and in laws who are over 80 and have never stayed in a hotel, so we wanted to treat them. Used the buyagift.com website to book this hotel at £122 per couple plus the extra top up fee of £81 per couple. So £203 per couple for the 2 night stay. The hotel is dated and run down. The owners need to do a full refurb. The walls are scuffed, carpets stained and trims damaged. Also no colour, pictures, plants, ornaments or interior touches to make you feel like it's 4*. The outside area looks rough with the pub benches/brollies, cig ends, rubbish and peeling paintwork. The bathroom is old fashioned, cold tap didn't work, no extractor fan so everything is literally dripping wet and I used the bin bucket to flush the waste down the toilet because it wouldn't flush properly. Mother in law found a spider in her bed. But the Worst thing was the NOISE. Doors do not have soft close. So are Slamming all night long. All the way down the corridor. Plus we had a group of girls in between our 2 rooms who were celebrating all night. High heels clacking, doors slamming and screeching/laughing. Guests will be guests but the hotel don't police Etiquette/Behaviour. The breakfast was excellent, hot and fresh with plenty of choice. Overall very disappointed with our stay and in my opinion this is Not a 4 star hotel. Such a shame because the winding entrance through the woods on arrival makes you think "wow this is going to be a luxury hotel."

Stayed overnight on a very warm day. The grounds and pool are lovely. The interior is in much better condition than the outside which could do with some TLC. Walked ten minutes through the woods to the local village pub and then watched the football in the nice bar. Room was very warm but it was a super hot day.
