It was very close to the gondola. The indoor pool was clean and nice. The explanations for the meals could have been more detailed.

**Samokov Hotel Review** We just got back from a family skiing trip and stayed at the Samokov Hotel from February 16th to 19th. Honestly, we had a pretty great time, despite some of the mixed reviews we read beforehand. We picked this hotel mainly because it was super affordable and right in front of the gondola lifts—so convenient! The place is massive and has loads of stuff to do after a long day on the slopes. The swimming pool and spa were spacious and clean, and we loved hanging out in the game area with Bowling Alleys, pool tables, air hockey, Ping Pong tablesand even a shooting room for some fun! You HAVE to try the hot chocolate in the reception area—it's made with real chocolate and is just delicious! The reception is also a nice spot to chill with family and friends over drinks or games. Now, about breakfast: it could definitely be better. The scrambled eggs were kind of soggy, and there weren’t any fried eggs or pastries. They should incorporate pancakes and porridge and there is none of it. Our room (672) had fantastic views of the slopes, but we did have a little issue with the shower leaking all over the floor as the bath is not sealed, not ideal, but we just used towels to soak it up since they changed them daily. We also had very strong food smell in our floor as the staff lifts door was always open and all the corridors smelled of food. One bummer was the juice at breakfast; it was just some squashy stuff. We found a great little supermarket called Aldo right across the street where we stocked up on proper orange juice—totally saved our mornings! Dinner was pretty good! They had a nice variety each night: pork, beef, chicken, fish, plus plenty of salads and yummy desserts. Just wish there were more pasta options; we only got bolognese once. Overall, if you're not after luxury but want somewhere comfy to crash after skiing all day, this hotel is perfect for families. The beds were comfy, everything was clean—even if it looked a bit worn—and for the price, you really can’t beat it. Plus, booking our ski passes and gear in the basement was super easy and the guys were nice. We had a lovely stay and would totally come back again! Just a few tweaks to the breakfast and dinner options would make it even better!

Hotel is Ok. Good facilities however the rooms are showing their age. Breakfast was average, and overall was an ok experience. We got a deal so it was a decent price, but would not pay full price. Hotel has potential but needs investment/ a refurb. No major issues though and nice staff.

Not a great experience at the hotel. First of all the rooms only have one plug which is far away from the bed or bedside table. The heater in the room I was staying in did not work well so most of the time the room was cold. Breakfast food options are not great and average. Have to pay extra to use extra facilities such as the gym which is badly maintained and most of the apparatus are not functional. The biggest thing to note is that the Wifi is atrocious and only works on the ground and first floor. If your room is on the second floor and above then you will not have any functional wifi which was confirmed by the receptionist. Hotel looks good from the outside but once your inside is not great and more of a 2 star hotel. One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in.

Well I was dreading the hotel but was very pleasantly surprised. The food is totally adequate, breakfast and evening meal. Plenty to choose from hot and cold. More than you can eat anyway!!! If you are a fussy eater then go room only and eat out at the local restaurants. We had a one year old with us and there was always something for him to eat and a microwave to heat food if you need to warm through a pouch of baby food. Highchairs are also provided. The staff were always professional and pleasant. Cannot fault the cleanliness, cleaners can be found all across the hotel hoovering and refreshing the rooms. Yes it is outdated, yes it is hot in the rooms (but it is always hot in rooms), just open the window! No there isn't mastic by the bath, just sit down in the bath and shower it is not difficult or just have a bath (relax) your on holiday. The water is hot. Yes it is busy on the first day you go to get ski equipment BUT this is a big hotel - it is to be expected. We had a great week with our friends. If you go, do eat in the Panorama Restaurant on 9th floor, delicious food and amazing views of the lit up slopes at night. I would go again to the hotel if I visited this ski area again.

For the price this is a budget hotel, it is outdated and very bare but for the price it was clean and warm, it's not modern by European standards, I stayed with friends, don't think I would go as a family location, nice bar upstairs, staff ok,most spoke English, lifts are very slow and look like they are on last legs, so we got what we paid for and it was adequate,

Like many others I was dubious on what to expect after reading some reviews but value for money, you can't fault this hotel! Yes it is a bit dated but we could look past that and see that it ticked all the box's for us! Spacious warm room, firm comfortable bed, hot shower, beautiful views of the mountain, friendly efficient staff, wonderful pool and spa facilities to unwind in after a long day of skiing on the slopes. Breakfast I thought was good, so much to choose from and frequently replenished, plus decent coffee! For us personally, we couldn't have asked for a better location, right opposite the Yastrebets gondala and within walking distance to all shops and resturants! The only negative thing were the pillows were too thick and hard for our liking but reception sent house keeping up within 15mins to give us alternative pillows. We will 100% stay here again!

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Rudest Staff, no Managment presence at all. The hotel it thoroughly run down and poorly maintained. Breakfast is absolutely disgusting, very poor choice and extremely low quality making it inedible. New Years Eve gala was a joke - food was worse than what you would get in a staff canteen. They forget clean your room. I had to ask 2 different days for cleaning and not even an apology for their mistake. On check out the receptionist acknowledged they have the worst hotel - but what can she do about it!
