Villa Borobudur was our second accommodation in Indonesia and it was the one we liked best. Since we arrived at the parking where our driver and guide left us because no car is allowed on the narrow and steep road to the entrance of the resort , I realised its beauty : Up the hill surrounded by a deep forest in front of the valley where Borobudur temple lies. The whole resort has an authentic Javanese style : we were in Borobudur suite which we found really charming : large, with a carved Javanese ceiling over the bed and a great attention to details.The bathroom was charming as well. The suite is on top of the hill completely surrounded by the lush jungle . The only sound was the one of the many birds . From our windows we could see the Borobudur temple : amazing! We loved the swimming pool facing the valley where the temple is. We were welcomed by a kind and lovely staff and were offered a very tasting ginger beer ! The sitting area and the bar were two “floors” down our suite and also from there the view was amazing. We dined at the restaurant in an open area always with the same lovely view of the valley and we tasted delicious Javanese food . The external environment of the room is quite good, with a sense of tone. The facilities in the room are a bit old, and the sheets, quilts, and towels are not white enough. The service of the young lady at the front desk is very good. There are no decent restaurants outside the hotel, so they all solve the problem of eating in the hotel, and the taste is quite good. I checked in yesterday just in time for the local celebration of the Eid al-Fitr, singing and dancing until midnight, it was very lively, very good, and I experienced the feeling of the locals celebrating the New Year.

Very close to Borobudur, not booked at the Net Red Hotel, breakfast is OK, there are four choices, fruit bowls and drinks. However, Borobudur personally does not recommend to go, it does not mean anything, the photo can not be photographed, the time to go in January, may predict the reason, the sunrise did not see, the fog is not as good as Prambanan. Personally feel that sunrise and sunset are better at the top of the mountain, as well as volcanic clouds, the brand is too expensive and not worth it. There are free bicycles and motorcycles to rent.

Less than 10 minutes walk to Borobudur ruins. This area is along a big street, so it's a convenient location to take a walk to nearby restaurants at night. The back side is a rice field, so the local feeling is perfect.
The pool view rooms lined up in the middle of the pool are full of Asian chic and resort feeling. Each building is an isolated style, and it is luxuriously made for the price.
The pool is small but deep and well-maintained, so it feels great to swim after the ruins.
For breakfast, you can choose Indonesian style or Western style.
There is a kettle in the room but no refrigerator.

It's far from the Borobudur Temple and it takes a long walk (about 260 yen for grab), so the location is 3 points, but the hotel itself is service, cleanliness, food (cheap), Both the facilities (you can also see YouTube in ＴＶ) were highly evaluated.
I think it is a little high price range around Borobudur, but it is recommended if you want cleanliness.
Also, he talks slowly with a smile until he can understand English at check-in, and the evaluation of the staff is 5.

I visited Mtilan on a vacation. And I chose the front one inn hotel to stay because of its strategic location if you want to go to jojja, mahjong or Borobudur. The room was very clean, the staff was very friendly, the breakfast was delicious. Although there's no restaurant, but if there's a lot of selling around the hotel at night, I'm not confused about the comedy.

the hotel condition is quite ok and located at the center of Magelang but we were suprised with CS of the hotel when informing check out time which we already noticed at the first place, and really, it is not necessary to be informed anymore coz we were planned to check out at 11.00am instead. and we felt that we were being expelled., when we need the bell boy upon check out., we were told to wait for queing, but we refused and decided to take all of the bags and luggages by ourselves., but suprisingly we saw the lugggage carts were stayed idle at the lobby unused. we do hope it wont happen to other guests and the hotel can improve the level of service to its customer. thank you

This is not a brand new resort, but it continuous to expand. They now offer vila with private pool as well as new executive room. I stayed at the executive room with private porch situated in front of the main restaurant. The area of the resort itself is a downhill slope facing the Kulon Progo river. You can enjoy some activities next to the river such as badminton, chess and also rafting along the river. With a large area of the resort, in my opinion, they need to increase the number of staff especially in regard to cleaning and house keeping so that the cleanliness will be maintained better and any room services will be quicker. The bed is comfortable and towel is fresh. They offer a basket of local fruits which is also a nice touch. It is worth to note that since this location is in a downhill slope, the pathway is a little bit steep, however a shuttle bus is always ready to pick you up, and transports you up and down within resort.

We are a family of 12 pax and stayed here for 2 nights. The moment we stepped into the hotel lobby we felt the warmth of hospitality. Very friendly and efficient staffs at the reception, f&b and housekeeping make our stay very comfortable and pleasant. Nice room and tastey foods suppliment our satistaction. I stayed for 2 nights and loved the quiet location (many other places are located on the main road which can be quite noisy) with great views looking across rice paddies toward the temple, which is just a short (~15 min) walk out the front door. Francesca and her staff did everything to make us feel welcome and comfortable, from bringing a cool drink when we arrived to making coffee for us at 6 AM. The meals were delicious, and the rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable - I loved the feeling of a boutique inn with outstanding attentive service - would definitely recommend this to any friend coming to Borobudur!

We sat in their comfortable outdoor restaurant to enjoy a cold beer and the best mie goreng dish we had on our entire trip in Indonesia. We had the pleasure of meeting the two brothers, Reza and Aan, who managed the hotel, and they were a delight to talk with. Their hotel features a very unique shadow puppet museum and traditional instruments for live shows that they hold there. I was lucky enough to have a cooking lesson from their chef on how to make the mie goreng dish, an experience I will cherish forever! We're so happy for the connections we made at this hotel in Borobudur and we would definitely return again.

Ddrew189About two weeks ago, i participated in Borobudur Marathon which the main area for the event is in the Borobudur Temple itself. What i was thinking when i joined this event, i would like to have somewhere to stay close to the main area for this event since the Marathon itself would take a lot of my energy. So i searched the internet and VOILA! Rumah Boedi is only about 3Km from Borobudur Temple! Without any hesitation, i booked the property for 2 nights. What i can say about this property is, all photos you got while searching in the internet can't describe the experience you will get when staying in this property. This property has a Modern Javanese architecture, which almost all building and equipment are made of woods, many statues and temple replicas are placed to make the ambience positively different, we can hear water sounds from the fountain while sitting in the open space, and above all of that, what i can conclude about the property is i feel like staying in a place where you feel like staying in nature, full of serenity, no city noises, and also homey and comfortable in the same time. This is a solitude place. Foods are great, their beverages are the best in Magelang, try their Lemongrass drink! They said all are homemade. Don't worry about rooms, linens and bed are clean, as well as the furniture and the bathroom. Wifi perfectly available everywhere. I will definitely will go back to this place if i have another chance to visit Magelang. In additional, i met the owner of this property and he was really pay attention to every aspect of hospitality. I felt like not staying in a hotel but in our own home. What i can tell you that this place is very recommended if you have a plan to Borobudur Temple or Magelang.

FfonterechoI booked a simple room for 2 nights and i was deeply disappointed after staying for 2 nights in Rumah Dharma in Borobudur. So i decided to make an upgrade for a Panorama Villa with private pool. And yes ... it was worth to do that step. Finally it was a nice stay there. Staff was very nice and very friendly ... like all people i met on Java Island and they tried to do their best to help for all questions. We had one dinner their and i missed to enjoy a glass of wine ... or at least a beer with dinner. The view from the Villa is very nice with an overview of the ricefields to the Borobudur Temple. To me, the Villa with pool was a little bit overprized. But finally much better than the other rooms. You need at least a motorbike, as the hotel is a little outside of Borobudur. But to discovery the surrounding it is anyway the best to have a car or motorbike. We also booked a car to bring us to the airport at this hotel. And everything worked very well.

Opting for the deluxe room was a great choice – clean, and the daily cleaning option was appreciated. The traditional breakfast was delicious and healthy. The proximity to Borobudur temple and local eateries, combined with a quiet atmosphere, made the location great. A few minor suggestions for improvement include proper netting on ventilator holes in the room, fixing the squeaky bathroom door, and loud noises from the bathroom air con. Overall, a lovely place with a welcoming family touch.

AAkila JIf you are to visit the Borobudur site, this is one of the best places to stay as it's literally 100m away from the main gate (Regular visit). If you are planning on the Sunrise or Sunset tour, they provide free transportation to the gate (This gate is located around 1.5Kms away from the guest house). Staff was simply amazing. I have to especially mention Himatul who was really helpful in providing vital information related to the site/tour in general. Additionally, she has accompanied us during the visit which kept our minds at ease. As per the room, it had, 1 King size bed, 1 single bed which was more than enough for us. The room had air conditioning and an attached bathroom. They have provided a decent free breakfast with a satisfactory portion of Nasi Goreng with Guava juice(I loved it!) + they have free wifi. + rooms are air conditioned. + they have attached bathrooms + there's a common area to have your food - They don't have their own restaurant, but there are many places to buy local food including street food. + There's a supermarket/mart nearby. + Staff was super friendly and helpful. + Very close to the Borobudur site (100m to the main gate). + Free transportation for Sunset/Sunrise tours.

DDewiThey just renovated July 2023, it's a clean and comfortable place to stay with family worth the price, location near the village, the kids are very happy because there are bicycles available to be used for cycling around the hotel, nasi goreng breakfast was delicious. Surely will come back.
