The staff welcoming us at check in were very nice, well spoken, and knowledgeable. The cookies at check in were a nice touch. The room was spacious and the check-out time was generous, noon. Only a few problems: the conditioner bottle in the shower was empty, but I only discovered in the morning while I was taking a shower, there were a few stray hairs still on the bathroom floor around the shower, the hot water carafe in the lobby was not kept hot so I had to warm up hot chocolate in my room microwave, and the cable TV didn't work in the morning, so we had no reason to stay for the late check out. We appreciated the hot breakfast in the morning and it was a good start to our day. I'd be willing to use Hampton Inns again.

We had a very pleasant stay. The people were friendly and the room was clean. There was plenty of counter space in the bathroom. Good variety of breakfast foods but by 8:30 there were very few pastry’s left and we had to request getting the coffee dispensers refilled. The parking lot could stand to be picked up as there was trash here and there. It is just north of Columbia, easy to get to. Down the road are a number of restaurants to choose from. Would gladly stay here again.

Stayed there for two days, and as long time Hilton members, my wife and I were really surprised by the lack of professionalism and noticeable management failures. Upon check in we immediately noticed our room had not been adequately cleaned as there was a used bar of soap still in the shower. When we called the front desk we were informed that unless we took everything out of the room or all of our things could be locked away leaving all horizontal surfaces clear of everything, housekeeping could not even enter the room. Since we always utilize house keeping during all of our stays, this was a policy we had not heard of. We later heard from a local, that guests at this location frequently complained about room theft. We never got our room cleaned the entire stay. We also realized that the roll of toilet paper was just about depleted and there was no extra roll, which served as confirmation that the room wasn’t cleaned properly. That evening we went down to the front desk to get another roll and were told that they were out of toilet paper….for the entire hotel. After some discussion the receptionist reluctantly went back in the supply room and found a used roll and told us that other guests would be angry at us because we took the last roll…….again, in the entire hotel. My wife and I immediately realized that there was a lack of management/leadership at this location and the employees were left to their own devices. Not what I’ve experienced at any other Hilton. Customer service was overall terrible. Certainly a lack of direction and or management at the least

The location was great. Grocery and fast food all around. Close to the person we visited and the activities we were involved in. But that’s it. After traveling all day and needing a shower before a dinner event, I found myself in a shower with little shampoo left and no conditioner at all. I would think those would be refilled for each new guest. Guess not! Luckily I noticed before I washed my hair as it would have been a disaster if I had not been able to condition it. I stopped at the desk and asked for my room to be replenished and for more pillows. The lady was super nice and said it would be taken care of. I came back to find nothing had been done. I was given some conditioner by a family member I visited “just in case”. So I was ok the next morning except I didn’t sleep well because the bed was as hard as a rock. But then I went down for breakfast and found most things were empty and what wasn’t looked very unappealing. I had some of the poor tasting coffee and juice that tasted like it had artificial sweetener in it. Dumped both of those and hit McDonalds instead. I mentioned to the same nice lady at the desk that I did not get anything I asked for and that my family was joining me that day so I really needed shampoo, conditioner and more pillows. She said she would personally take care of it. And she did! So she did great when the cleaning staff failed twice. They failed a third time when they didn’t clean our room on the “every other day” schedule we were told they provided . So I had to ask for clean towels. I found the room layout and furniture to be very functional. The hooks on the wall were great for the girls to put their purses and sweaters on. We enjoyed the pool until people started smoking out there and brought their dogs in the pool. Then there was poop in the pool. Not sure if it was the dogs or the bunch of wild children in there. Breakfast didn’t improve so that was disappointing…

The hotel was nice and clean. Hallway and elevator stinks, but you cannot smell it in room. One issue I had was that the closet door slid on track and was also used as bathroom door. (You are able to lock it while in the bathroom.) If you have toddlers they will probably play with this door. I had to clean the mirror bc there were spots on it. The fridge was very cold. The housekeepers are very kind and helpful. The bed was clean. Windows do not open. The bathroom was clean and there was a nightlight, but I am not sure if the nightlight is standard. The foot rest in the shower is nice and sturdy. The suitcase stand was kind of small, so I had to put ours on the blue table. The microwave could not be unplugged to keep the kids from playing with it. There were two orange rolling ottomans which will probably be pushed around by little kids. The breakfast was very good. Excellent waffle maker and good juice. The breakfast staff is wonderful. Their eggs were good and they had grits, too. I wish they had chocolate milk for kids, but they did have bottles of plain milk. The gym/fitness room had a water bottle filling water fountain, so be sure to fill up in there when you can. It had a few bikes, a few treadmills, kettle bells, dumb bells, tension bands, and yoga mats. We felt safe there and would stay again.

Standard Hampton but about 20 minutes after checking I was working in the room at the desk and the maid opened the door with her key. She saw me and immediately closed it. I went outside the room and asked her what she was doing. She said changing towels. I sent email to hotel manager with no response Glad my wife was not with me or she would have walked in on something else.

This is a nice newer hotel. The rooms are big and clean. We like when they have showers instead of bathtubs in the king rooms. However, the customer service is not the best The check in seemed to go smooth, but when we got to our room is was not the room I chose online. I reserved and chose a king room. We were given a handicap king suite, which is a nice huge room, but it had a bathtub not a shower. I immediately called the front desk and asked for a room like I reserved. I was given all kinds of excuses about being sold out and our room was given to someone else and this is a nice big room. Yes, it was a nice room but we wanted a shower, not a bathtub. He finally agreed to move us and was very unfriendly when we went back to the front desk. After check out the next day we discovered we had been charged $64 extra for an upgrade. I called the hotel and tried to explain the situation and a rude employee interrupted me and finally told me she would credit my credit card. We did get the credit so everything worked out in the end, but I've never had such hassles at any Hampton Inn before. If we pass through Columbia again, we might give them another chance since it is a nice hotel and the breakfast was good. Oh, while eating breakfast, the night front desk clerk was in the kitchen itching his head with a plastic fork for about 5 minutes, while constantly looking at me. I tried not to look but the kitchen was right in my sight of vision. I finally changed seats. It was disgusting. Luckily we were almost finished eating. So on second thought we probably won't stop again....and I changed from a 4 star to a 3 star.

Breakfast was great! The rooms were huge! Very very clean! Everyone was very friendly!! The bathroom was huge as well! Elevators were quick and great size too! They even gave us complimentary water too! Usually you have to pay! Nice area around too! Lots of places to eat!

The sales director Candace Dickerson was so rude to me when trying to book a room block. It was extremely hard to get in contact with her and once I did I wish I didn't. She kept cutting me off when speaking told me to close my mouth and listen. She doesn't need to work in customer service or hospitality. This is the worse experience I have ever encountered with Hilton. I was highly offended by her ignorant behavior. She is a poor representation of a salesperson. She was way too comfortable being rude and disrespectful . I asked her numerous time to calm down and to stop being rude. I finally got in contact with the manager to express my concerns with how she spoke to me. I hope this issue is rectified. I also wanted the call recording pulled and Candace proudly told me the call wasn't being recorded and proceeded to talking fast and disconnected the call.Someone this ignorant doesn't need to work with people. She was extremely unprofessional.
