Breakfast is not really included as such. Only the continental buffet. This is cereal, fruits, cereal bars, baked items and a large selection of cakes, including mince pies, which was odd for breakfast. The hot breakfast requires a surcharge to be paid, something I’ve never experienced before. The full English would be best described as part English breakfast, with no sausages, tomatoes, or mushrooms included which is a bit of an insult when you’re paying a surcharge. I can’t fault the service, or anything else, but this felt a bit naughty to be doing.

We stayed during the October break in order to visit Alton Towers. It was a two night stay with bed and breakfast included. The inn was very comfortable and the staff were excellent. The food at dinner time was delicious and the menu even had haggis on it for us Scots!! The food and the staff are what makes this place and it is only 15 mins from Alton towers. My favourite part of the inn was the cosy pub with the real fire. We had our dinner here every night with a beer and the surroundings encouraged chats with other guests. Highly recommended.

I am glad I used mainly Clubcard vouchers to pay for this otherwise I would have been very disappointed & gutted to have spent that much money, the hotel was just average. The rooms are actually in external ‘cabins’ very basic, pillows were the hardest I’ve ever slept on & so was the mattress. The whole place felt very old fashioned & a bit run down, not the quaint country pub way like we had hoped. No atmosphere at all. The evening meal was very expensive for the quality £16 for scampi & chips, this was the equivalent of what we pay locally for a quality meal cooked from scratch. Breakfast was not great, Aldi versions for most condiments & nothing seemed particularly fresh, mainly out of packets, not nice fresh croissants & not quality. We stayed at Alton Towers the next night & the difference was like night & day, it was the same price had I not used the vouchers.

Didn't stay here, only had lunch but it was good. Pleasant and clean place. Friendly staff. Good menu selection. Both our meals were good with ample portions. Reasonable prices too. I had the scampi and my friend had the homemade beefburger of which was very good.

Stayed for 3 nights with 2 other families as a base for Alton Towers. Really handy location. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, good food. Room servicing available on request. But the best bit is how friendly and helpful the owners and staff are.

Went for a 2 night stay with a mate as we went to Alton Towers. The pub is a lovely place, and the staff were all very friendly and catered for our needs. The room was very clean and the food was great. Would recommend if you need a nice place to stay.

Nice pub/restaurant with good food and the accomodation did the job perfectly with comfy beds and a nice shower. The owner and all of the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating and I would absolutely recommend a short stay here for Alton Towers which is a few minutes drive away. Plenty of parking. Fill up with a good breakfast and treat yourself to a big meal here in the evening to avoid the awful food at the theme park.

Called in for lunch, hadn't booked but was seated easily in a conservatory so plenty of light made the experience much better. Food was lovely, decent portions and fairly priced. Service was great. Easy to get to as its on the main road. Would definitely return.
