Showers Inn

This is the second time we have stayed here. This time was after a bb game and was so convenient. The inn is cozy and beautiful - the owners have kept all the charm of the 1903 home. Breakfast was artfully prepared and delicious. The off street parking is wonderful. We will be back!

Beautiful, nicely restored turn of the century former residence. Friendly and VERY helpful staff. Excellent breakfast… Nice neighborhood with easy walk to downtown eateries, attractions and campus. Lovely decor throughout the Inn. Amazing restored woodwork everywhere. Bed and bedding were comfortable, bathroom was well equipped with nice toiletries and good shower. Lovely outdoor seating spaces. Free off street parking. Will definitely stay again if travels bring us back to Bloomington❣️

I had a delightful weekend here. The breakfast was the best food I had in Bloomington, which is saying a lot. I could stare at design details of the period interior all day. Restorative and delicious experience, I couldn’t have asked for better.

I had a solo weekend stay for mom's weekend. Even in February, the grounds were pretty and well maintained. Indiana can be ugly this time of year. I loved that I could walk to most places where I met my son for meals, etc. You can easily walk to campus or the downtown square from here. The room was immaculate and appointed with everything one would need. The breakfast was speedy and very good. The place overall had a great vibe. I felt very safe on my own and would definitely stay here again in the future.

I stayed at the "Composer House" which is hands down the best room / hotel in Bloomington. No other hotel has this home-style feel my room had, including a balcony and the best breakfast in Bloomington. The Huevos Rancheros are to die for, and freshly made from real eggs and vegetables, as well as real coffee, fresh juice and bread. No chain hotel with their sterile look-alike rooms, frozen bagels, and plastic bags of egg yokes will be found here. This is a real Mom and Pop, family run and owned hotel. This is the only hotel in Bloomington if you want value for money. And again, their breakfast is the best in town. Book early, as they are very popular and on IU game days they are sold out.

First & last stay for us. We were in town celebrating our 25th anniversary. I’ve always wanted to stay at a B&B and this experience left a lot to be desired. There was a used/discarded contact lens on the chair in our room (leaving me to wonder about how well the room was cleaned), the drain in the bathroom did not drain well at all and we waited over an hour for a subpar breakfast. The “chef” ended up coming to our table and had a little tantrum. It was bad enough our waitress was embarrassed and promised to speak to the owner. Just ridiculous really, an apology would have sufficed but never came. Our waitress ends up letting us know the delay happened because our ticket fell on the floor. Accidents happen, we understand that. His behavior was just uncalled for. Anyway, the house is nice enough but know that parking is very tight and if your stay falls while school is in session I’d imagine it can be loud. The owner was nice enough to give me a call to go over the issues we experienced and offered a small refund. Just an overall disappointing anniversary trip.

We recently stayed two nights at the Showers Inn. It was VERY clean, had a nice bathroom, roomy and breakfast was very tasty. Parking lot could be a little challenging if it's a full house. We visited on a Sunday, Monday night so not crowded! Check in felt a little rushed, the lady was in a hurry to go home and I guess that's the difference between a corporate owned B&B. They also could use handrails on some of the many stairs outside. Loved that there were many tables spread out for breakfast so we could social distance. Overall a really nice place that's a short walk to the square!

Our granddaughter is a freshman at Jacobs school of music and I wanted to visit her and for her and I to experience a historical setting. I found the Showers Inn to be beautiful, spotless and we slept on the most comfortable bed and comforter ever! I found the most impressive part of my stay was That in restoring the home the original fixtures, flooring, toilets and ceramic walled tiles were retained in addition to adding some modern faucets. The main floor Gathering rooms were charming and the homemade cookies and breakfast menu were very nice. The staff and owner were very cordial and I would highly recommend this Inn.

We loved everything about the inn. We especially enjoyed sitting by the fire at night. Great charm with modern updates. Convenient location, easily walkable to Kirkwood. Breakfasts were delicious. Would definitely recommend and hope to come back again.
