The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean but had dust in certain parts of the lighting and table. The bathroom didn’t smell to good when we got there. There wasn’t much soap to wash your hands. Unfortunately at night time the people next door were loud and at times the door was shutting it would wake you up. The tv remote wasn’t working properly.

Had gone here for a night. The room I was given was nice and spacious but the air on wouldn't work. So I was moved to another room which was smaller, felt like I was downgraded to a smaller room.
If only they could give me the same spacious room that I booked with a working air con would have been great.

I stopped here one night with friends for my birthday. The hotel is easy to get to, and the location is excellent as it’s located on Broad Street, near Brindley Place which hosts a wide range of bars and pubs. So if you’re visiting Birmingham to have a drunken, night out or a special occasion then this hotel is perfect. There’s also parking on site behind the hotel which is very handy, unfortunately the car park isn’t discounted for guests stopping in the hotel. After waiting in a small queue, we attempted to check in at 14:30 (half hour earlier than check in ‘opens’) we were told the room wasn’t ready. Which wasn’t an issue as they had luggage storage available. We can back to check in at 16:00 and the queue was horrendous. I’ve never seen a queue as big as this to check in for a hotel before. We waited for 20 minutes until we checked in. The room was spacious, clean and well equipped. Although there were coffee cups left behind the curtains upon entry. The bathroom was very modern and had a walk in shower. The beds were unbelievably comfy and had plug sockets by the side of the bed which is a massive plus as not every hotel has this. Luckily, it was a quicker process checking out as you can just pop your keys in the ‘express checkout box’. Overall, a comfortable night stay in the heart of Birmingham, unfortunately the check in was horrific.

Friendly staff with clean rooms. The kitchenette was good together with a fridge and a washing machine.
It took 15 minutes walk to the Birmingham New Street Train Station with up and downs along the road. However the hotel was located near the canal and the Central library. Restaurants and bars were easily found close to the hotel.
Recommended when the budget is your concern.

There is so much to unpack here when it comes to Selina Birmingham. Never again am I staying at this hellhole of a hotel. For a name like Selina, the hotel sure is nightmarish to stay at. It's shameful that the hotel shares the same name with my non-biological/cosplay partner. There is no breakfast but at least, the bedding, the pillows and the duvet are comfy (but most likely due to the fact that I’m tired) and the wi-fi is decent. Unfortunately, this is where the compliments stop, especially when the dorm rooms are so dark, you have to turn on the flashlight on your phone in order to see. Not to mention, there is no television in the room I was staying in. To make matters worse, the dorm room is cold, coupled with no heating. I honestly don't mind the cold most of the time but the room temperature is too cold for my liking. Speaking of the ground floor, the Korean receptionist told me that I'm not allowed to eat my food at a table at the cafe and told me to climb the stairs all the way to the third floor in order to eat my food. It isn't fair, considering the receptionist with the short, dark hair tends to allow me to eat my food at a table at the cafe during the very early hours of the morning. I eventually lost my patience and yelled at the Korean receptionist. It's rare when I lose my patience. I threatened in a growly voice with, ”I suggest you fill the pot noodle to the top with water unless you want a scathing, negative review to be blasted on the radio for everyone to hear?”. Finally, she got the memo. The rooms, bathrooms and toilets and facilities are unsanitary (for example, there are biscuit crumbs all over the bed sheets. I didn't know until I got out of bed), the entire hotel itself is not accessibility-friendly as if the lack of a lift and the staff not being accommodating towards disabled people such as myself isn’t of any indication, the kitchen and the kitchen equipment on the third floor are dirty, there is no hot water in some of the bathrooms within the dorm rooms, the bathrooms and the dorm rooms are shared (therefore, there is no privacy), the lights keep turning themselves off if you’re idle (I’m more used to turning on and off the lights on my own accord), you need to pay £10 for a padlock which is complicated for disabled people and the list goes on. The toilets, bathrooms, kitchen etc are just as dirty as Badea Faulkner and Olive Allison Brown from the Avanzar House in Middleton, Manchester not cleaning up after themselves. And don’t get me started on the staff being problematic. They aren’t very useful to the point where I had to shout at them due to their language barriers and them not listening to me, let alone understanding me. This is troubling for autistic people like me. Never in all my years have I encountered such frustrating hotel staff members. Compared to the other hotels I've stayed at in the past, the hotel staff in these hotels were never infuriating. If a lack of staff doesn’t tell you the appalling

Great hotel and family friendly, although upon research of the carpark the hotel recommend to their guest we discovered on trip adviser that it seems alot of peoples cars get broken into as there is lack of cctv at livery street carpark. Obviously not the hotels fault but maybe they should check that out before recommending. We choose to park in the town center and selfridges carpark for £20 for just over 24hrs and felt alot more satisfied that our car would be OK there over night.
Campanile is pleased to welcome you for your stay in Birmingham, central England. Our hotel is located just half a mile from downtown and the railway station and 5.5 miles from the airport. It is close to the M6 highway, museums, castles and shopping centers.

At 1st glance I was not that impressed. BUT as soon as I entered the reception area my experience began to improve. Very welcoming and polite receptionist. My room was spacious, spotless, and with a view of the canal(wasn't expecting that!)
As a smoker, the terrace by the canal was an added bonus.
Great breakfast too. All in all, a great overnight stay was had.

GGuest User2022.10.05
We'd booked this hotel through a website, but probably could have got a better deal if we'd gone to Ibis direct. The beauty of the hotel is that you are 2 minutes from Departures at Birmingham Airport. When you've got an early morning flight this is a definite benefit, just to get a little extra sleep before you travel. The room itself was a good size. Plenty of space for us and our two large cases. Room and bathroom were clean as well. Even better, no noise from other rooms came through (OK you will get selfish people making noise down corridors on occasion - not much can be done about that I'm afraid). Went to the bar to have a drink which was fine. There is a place to eat, but we'd eaten before leaving home. Check in and check out was really quick as well.

I wrote the following email to the hotel upon check out, (14 days ago and no response) We booked a family room, as we had our little boy with us he is 4 and he could not reach the sink, you may like to consider in offering a child’s step when selling it as a family room so they can reach the sink and climb into bath. The shower curtain was not very clean and I didn’t feel comfortable when it was sticking to my skin whilst showering. See attached photo. There was no information given or provided in the room about the Wi-Fi. There was no TV guide on the television. No fridge in the room. One toilet roll for a family of three. No air conditioning We were notified that the swimming pool was closed which was disappointing but at least notified even though it didn’t reflect in the price. Breakfast was Luke warm buffet style so disappointing. The housekeeper knocked the door at 8.30am when we hadn’t checked out. I would like to mention we stayed at The Marriot in the centre of Birmingham on Tuesday night and this was a much better experience. All in all, it was a very disappointed stay.

Excellent
GGuest UserPerfect base for a one night stop over before an early flight the next day. The food was lovely in the bar and reasonably priced. Walking distance to the airport and car park so location is perfect too! We used the monorail to go to the NEC/resorts world arena area which has shops, cinema, bars and restaurants. Great if you have a bit of time there as the hotel room is tiny but has everything you need.
GGuest UserGoing on a business trip, really not looking forward to it at all..booked the closest hotel to the venue not realising it’s actually connected..expected to be in a travel lodge-esque box…this hotel was so nice, I’d happily go back! Everything about it, polite helpful check-in staff, excellent room with everything I needed. Lovely staff in the restaurant, even allowed me to grab a pastry for breakfast even though I’d not paid for breakfast ( surgery precludes me chomping down on piled high buffet plates)….uber comfortable bed, fab shower, tea coffee facilities, iron and board, usb sockets in the room…in spite of what others may have experienced, the entire hotel was immaculately clean and tidy..with a somewhat unusual but really nice orange smell in the reception…would not hesitate to stay here again!!
GGuest UserLocation of the hotel was excellent. Parking is £13 for the night on site. Room was clean. The aircon did not work and it’s was so got my partner almost fainted. I called up the manager who came along with the housekeeping. The housekeeping tried to say oh it’s motion sensored and you got to wait 30 minutes or so to come on. I’m standing there looking at her like say what again?! I explained to her nobody has time to wait around for the air con to come on for that long like tia 1994! Even the manager stood there who agreed it was hot. All our food had gone cold. And eventually 30 mins later they moved us to the room next door and from the word go it was so much cooler and the air con was working.. wait for it.. without anybody being there for the “motion a/c” to work. They didn’t do anything about the food that went cold, the inconvenience. Manager did offer to get us drinks but we don’t drink so pointless. He offered to reimburse £13 for parking again not worth it. Overall it was a poor experience but slightly made up for it when we moved room. This is not really the marriot experience and we made the mistake not to use the usual aloft hotel east side who are always 5/5!
AAshley PeaceThe staff were polite and friendly, the location was great as right near the arena. We were given a disabled room which was large and on the 4th floor as I requested a low floor. However, I had no sleep as net curtains up and blind didn’t pull down. Also, breakfast was fairly chaotic the next morning. You literally have to do everything yourself eg make your own hot drinks, roast your bread. I personally prefer it cooked to order or at least for them to bring you toast and coffee, which is what I’d expect for nearly £150 for the night. Overall, I think it’s overpriced and I would not stay here again!
GGuest UserStayed for 2 weeks as I was in Birmingham for work. Had an amazing experience here, room was nice and cozy, it was cleaned daily and new towels were provided every day. The hotel personnel was kind, helpful and very professional. The only thing that could be improved is the WiFi as it was rather slow and would keep disconnecting often. But besides that, I would highly recommend this hotel.
GGuest UserI arrived past the check-in time, and reception was not around to receive me. Nonetheless, there was a number on the door to call, and I was talked through the process of getting in with the code, and to collect my keys. The gentleman was incredibly patient with me, which was appreciated as it was late, and I was exhausted from a long work day and it was my first time in Birmingham so I got lost finding my way from the train station to the accommodation.
The apartment was incredibly spacious. The living room and kitchen made me feel right at home, and the kitchen was well equipped. There were two bedrooms and two bathrooms - I was a single traveller so I didn't need to use all that space at all.
The bed I slept in was marvellously comfortable. The bathroom was spacious, the water pressure was strong, and I really have zero complains about it.
Location wise, there is a mall next door, although by the time I arrived it was closed, and when I left for my work meeting at 7am the next morning it wasn't opened yet. There were also some restaurants by the waterfront around the corner.
I think this is a great accommodation for families or friends travelling together.
QQinaidexiaomingmingThe hotel is in a good location, in the city center. It is a good hotel for attending conferences and the price is affordable. I will book this hotel again for the next Birmingham exhibition. It is convenient for travel.
GGuest UserI will not hold it against the hotel if other guests are making noises outside my door. The location is great, rooms are clean, well stocked with tea/coffee, staff is friendly and professional so what else can I ask for. It is not a spanking new hotel so do expect some inevitable wear and tear. As the weather turned hot the room was starting to get stuffy and I had to open the windows which looked out to a quiet alley. If I need to, I would stay here again as it is a pleasant place.
GGuest UserHotel is not in a bad location for trips out…
But the hotel needs a lot of improvements! The breakfast buffet you are left waiting for them to replenish food items , you have to keep asking staff where are the cups for tea as none replaced there was queues because of the location of the toaster, be careful if you ask for water to be replaced in room as I was charged but then got a refund after complaining..the executive room was good but I know the standard rooms are not great. The staff were good but there needs better organisation. The pool area dated and no set time they seem to pick and choose open close times. We had quite a few issues not all mentioned here which we told reception about we was not happy and noticed other customers complaining.. we would not stay again and certainly not 4 star 3 at most .. can’t comment on spa treatments as did not use but looking at the spa I’m sure there are better ones around. Golf course 9 hole in good condition but outside hotel area need tidying up bit scruffy.
