My dear wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Adagio in Birmingham. We chose the superior apartment which was quite spacious and comfortable. It was in easy walking distance to the New Street Train Station, downtown Birmingham, and even easier walking distance to the Bull Ring Mall with its many stores and supermarket. We found the staff to be really friendly. Thank you Adagio!

We stayed in a one bedroom suite for 2 nights, on the fifth floor, with a 2 year old toddler. Overall our stay was ok, the apartment had what we needed, was well located and noise was minimal at night. Cleanliness was ok but could be improved eg stains on armchairs in living room, dust on shower curtain rail. Good range of items at breakfast. However a couple of issues we flagged to reception: At the breakfast buffet on our last morning, I filled up my toddler’s milk cup with milk from the fridge, before passing it to another guest, and then filling up his cereal with the same bottle. Luckily, before he’d drunk much of the milk, the other guest came over to tell me she thought the milk was off and had seen me fill up a sippy cup with it. My husband tasted it and confirmed it was sour and fizzy. I went to check the fridge and there were several bottles of milk that had gone past their clearly stated sell by dates, including one that didn’t have a cap on. I immediately told breakfast staff who had been moving bottles around with ample opportunity to check dates, and didn’t receive an apology. Later we told reception, they apologised but no remedial action offered. Had the other guest not informed me, my son and other guests could have been very sick. Staff need to be trained to check sell by dates on items at offer at breakfast, before putting them out for guests to use. We had another issue with the travel cot supplied, it didn’t have a proper mattress, just a folded up board. Reception did offer to bring up towels/sheets to fold and act as a mattress but I thought this was poor. We ended up buying a travel cot mattress for our stay. These combined issues affected our stay so can’t give more than 2 stars.

Had gone here for a night. The room I was given was nice and spacious but the air on wouldn't work. So I was moved to another room which was smaller, felt like I was downgraded to a smaller room.
If only they could give me the same spacious room that I booked with a working air con would have been great.

sadly the apartment didn't live up to the beautiful Art Deco exterior and communal areas. We stayed during the Commonwealth Games, which presumably accounted for the massive price rise (over £1500 more than the current listing price for the same apartment) Let me first say that as a positive, I couldn't fault the staff there - particularly the cleaners and the maintenance man we encountered. However, for the price we paid (or even for the current list price) I did feel let down. The bed was very small, and the bedroom itself was stiflingly hot, despite the open windows and the fans, which worked almost constantly while we were there. In fact, my husband slept quite a few nights on the sofa for this reason. The television kept switching itself off and although we reported this on more than one occasion, it was unable to be fixed while we were there. The toilet seat lid came off in our hands on the first night we were there, and this happened again even after it had been ”fixed” twice, so in the end we just left it off. We were unable to leave the windows open at night due to frequent noises from outside of bottles/glasses being emptied into bins from (presumably) local pubs. All in all, I would not stay here again, nor would I recommend it to any of my friends. I do realise however, from reading other reviews, that other people have had a different experience from the one we had, but it's not for us.

Generally good for short trip over the weekend, great location with access to public parking and car parks. However the lift wasn’t working properly leading to delays. In room facilities get dated and so can tailor just basic needs, cleanliness just ok barely borderline 3 stars. Staffs are friendly and helpful, many staffs at the canteen during breakfast times, responsive and friendly. Passed for the money spent increasing overall cleanliness and better quality towels etc. would help increase rating.

I would stay here again! I loved the location of the hotel. It is right inbetween the city center (New Street Station & Bullring) and the beautiful Brindley Place are by the old canal. The room itself was clean and looked mostly like it was in the picture, I also had a pretty cool view onto the old canal from the 15th floor. The carpet and the couch looked a bit ”worn down”, but it was clean nonetheless. The staff was friendly, nice and very helpful. It was nice that the breakfast was included and there was a good choice of breakfast options. I can 100% recommend this hotel when staying in Birmingham. I had a nice time and didn't miss anything while staying at the Holiday Inn Express.

Friendly staff with clean rooms. The kitchenette was good together with a fridge and a washing machine.
It took 15 minutes walk to the Birmingham New Street Train Station with up and downs along the road. However the hotel was located near the canal and the Central library. Restaurants and bars were easily found close to the hotel.
Recommended when the budget is your concern.

I stopped here one night with friends for my birthday. The hotel is easy to get to, and the location is excellent as it’s located on Broad Street, near Brindley Place which hosts a wide range of bars and pubs. So if you’re visiting Birmingham to have a drunken, night out or a special occasion then this hotel is perfect. There’s also parking on site behind the hotel which is very handy, unfortunately the car park isn’t discounted for guests stopping in the hotel. After waiting in a small queue, we attempted to check in at 14:30 (half hour earlier than check in ‘opens’) we were told the room wasn’t ready. Which wasn’t an issue as they had luggage storage available. We can back to check in at 16:00 and the queue was horrendous. I’ve never seen a queue as big as this to check in for a hotel before. We waited for 20 minutes until we checked in. The room was spacious, clean and well equipped. Although there were coffee cups left behind the curtains upon entry. The bathroom was very modern and had a walk in shower. The beds were unbelievably comfy and had plug sockets by the side of the bed which is a massive plus as not every hotel has this. Luckily, it was a quicker process checking out as you can just pop your keys in the ‘express checkout box’. Overall, a comfortable night stay in the heart of Birmingham, unfortunately the check in was horrific.

The staff were polite and friendly, the location was great as right near the arena. We were given a disabled room which was large and on the 4th floor as I requested a low floor. However, I had no sleep as net curtains up and blind didn’t pull down. Also, breakfast was fairly chaotic the next morning. You literally have to do everything yourself eg make your own hot drinks, roast your bread. I personally prefer it cooked to order or at least for them to bring you toast and coffee, which is what I’d expect for nearly £150 for the night. Overall, I think it’s overpriced and I would not stay here again!

Shane was really helpful in suggesting food and drinks and it was a nice, relaxed environment at the bar for our food. The food was well presented and tasty. The superfood salad was really nice. Definitely have the extra chicken. The desserts were also excellent. Sticky toffee pudding and chocolate brownie were also great. Would recommend it for a relaxing drink and food. Great service. Shane and Jessica were really nice.

PP6988TMdavidhIn all honesty, I have always considered Ibis to be a low-cost budget hotel that I would not choose to stay at. However, I recently had to attend a meeting that was booked at this hotel, and I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised. It is important to refrain from making judgments without personal experience, as I discovered that the hotel was remarkably impressive. Upon my arrival, I inquired at the reception desk if any of the rooms offered a view of the airport, as I wanted to video chat with my four-year-old son who is fascinated by airplanes. Unfortunately, they did not have any rooms with the desired view. However, upon returning from dinner, I found a small airplane present waiting for my son, which I thought was an exceptionally thoughtful gesture. This experience has completely transformed my perception of the Ibis brand. I have gone from being reluctant to book with them to being more than happy to do so in the future. Ibis Style has successfully converted me into a loyal customer, and I commend them for their exceptional service.
AAvreen”I had a fantastic experience at the Delta Hotel in Birmingham! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean and comfortable.my overall stay was enjoyable, and I would definitely consider staying at the Delta Hotel again in the future. Thank you for recommending it!”
GGuest UserNo complaints - the hotel is walkable from the New Street Station and the room itself is expected from the crowne plaza chain. Spacious room and generous 2 double beds as standard. Only very minor complaint is that the buffet breakfast could have had a bit more choice with the hot food.
GGuest UserStayed for 2 weeks as I was in Birmingham for work. Had an amazing experience here, room was nice and cozy, it was cleaned daily and new towels were provided every day. The hotel personnel was kind, helpful and very professional. The only thing that could be improved is the WiFi as it was rather slow and would keep disconnecting often. But besides that, I would highly recommend this hotel.
GGuest UserGoing on a business trip, really not looking forward to it at all..booked the closest hotel to the venue not realising it’s actually connected..expected to be in a travel lodge-esque box…this hotel was so nice, I’d happily go back! Everything about it, polite helpful check-in staff, excellent room with everything I needed. Lovely staff in the restaurant, even allowed me to grab a pastry for breakfast even though I’d not paid for breakfast ( surgery precludes me chomping down on piled high buffet plates)….uber comfortable bed, fab shower, tea coffee facilities, iron and board, usb sockets in the room…in spite of what others may have experienced, the entire hotel was immaculately clean and tidy..with a somewhat unusual but really nice orange smell in the reception…would not hesitate to stay here again!!
QQinaidexiaomingmingThe hotel is in a good location, in the city center. It is a good hotel for attending conferences and the price is affordable. I will book this hotel again for the next Birmingham exhibition. It is convenient for travel.
GGuest UserI stayed here on business which provided an idea location for my work and also was a small drive to a shopping complex! My Room on arrival was very clean carpets vacuumed and bathroom clean! Air con was a blessing as it was a warm couple of nights. Only fault i noticed was a USB socket to the left of my bed was broken where I believe people before were being forceful apart from that a clean room overall and most importantly i slept well 😊 Staff were very friendly on site and happy to help the first night they were clearly short of staff and i felt Aaron who I believe was running the shift explained there maybe a delay with food this evening and somethings maybe off the menu regardless to this managed to provide a decent meal regardless to there struggles. Checking out Jasmine and Aaron both really friendly and was a very simple process! I would stay here again in the future!!
GGuest UserRichard was great, the light things
near door came off in my hand he sorted, had no charger he sorted. Was hungry he sorted, sorted breakfast all in all I had forgotten things and he helped with all of them, only problem bed in 345 is hard but otherwise a great stay. Tram stop back of the hotel, multiple buses front of the hotel. Shower lovely.
RRainbow98Cheapest budget hotel (for three guests) with reasonably good reviews I could find in Trip. Service staff were helpful. Downers are the sewage smells that emanated from the sink whenever someone showered from above. Not soundproof; noise made by inconsiderate guests could be heard from the corridor and the floor above.
Shower area is like a capsule but its door is avant garde, with a hole in place of a door knob.
GGuest UserHotel is not in a bad location for trips out…
But the hotel needs a lot of improvements! The breakfast buffet you are left waiting for them to replenish food items , you have to keep asking staff where are the cups for tea as none replaced there was queues because of the location of the toaster, be careful if you ask for water to be replaced in room as I was charged but then got a refund after complaining..the executive room was good but I know the standard rooms are not great. The staff were good but there needs better organisation. The pool area dated and no set time they seem to pick and choose open close times. We had quite a few issues not all mentioned here which we told reception about we was not happy and noticed other customers complaining.. we would not stay again and certainly not 4 star 3 at most .. can’t comment on spa treatments as did not use but looking at the spa I’m sure there are better ones around. Golf course 9 hole in good condition but outside hotel area need tidying up bit scruffy.
