Birmingham South (Hall Green)

Travelled with my mum and stayed 2 nights. Reception staff on arrival very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good and the lady who served us was amazing. She was very kind and friendly, a credit to Premier Inn. We live abroad and will definitely book this hotel again when we come back to see family.

The entrance road was not very obvious, and the given directions assumed travel from the south, but adequate car parking and a covered drop off area. No lift but there is only one upper storey. Room large and well equipped although only one set of towels had been provided and the toilet roll dispenser was almost empty. Lovely shower and comfortable king sized bed. Unlike other Premier Inns we have stayed at, this one served breakfast in the hotel itself. Cooked breakfasts were to order, as much as you wanted of each item, and was excellent. No rolls/baps though. Only real down side was that the associated eatery, across the car park, was a Toby Carvery - limited menu and, like all such carveries, the vegetables were lukewarm and the server (I'd hate to think he was a qualified chef) was very mean with the meat sliced off the various roasts. On night two we crossed the street to an excellent Indian/Chinese restaurant that has only recently opened and was fantastic! Hotel generally a great stay. Eatery passable, although I am sure it would be thought fine by some. Staff were friendly and helpful.

An odd one to review. The staff were great, very friendly and approachable. The room was extremely clean, the wetroom sparkling. The continental breakfast was plentiful BUT We were in room 110 - a wheelchair accessible room on the ground floor and when I awoke in the morning my legs and torso were covered in bites. Bed bug bites. We immediately mentioned it to the first staff member we saw when we went into breakfast who was very apologetic and said that she would contact management. Unfortunately, due to my medical condition, these bites are now causing quite a health problem. This review is not to criticize the staff in any way but to make customers aware that as of 27th October 2024 there is a problem with room 110.

A convenient location if you are looking for something close to the NEC. We were met by a very enthusiastic member of staff, Udit, he went out of his way to help. Check In is automated. We opted to pre book dinner bed and breakfast. Tip: You are expected to book dinner even though you have purchased the package. The dining area and bar is a modern design, well lit, with new looking furniture. Dinner: we opted for a starter of chicken wings - they were great and salted Calamari - not so good, dry and frazzled! Then onto the sirloin steak (there is a supplement) chips over cooked and the steak had quite a lot of gristle. one dessert of the pancake berry stack. Pancakes not fresh bake, somewhat dry with tinned fruits berries. Drinks, we noted that the prices were quite high. £4.15 for a draft coke. Breakfast was the usual buffet affair. Generally a decent spread for the money. thanks to new employee Megan, very friendly and willing to help. Overall you have to remember that this is not the Ritz, but it is clean and the food is ok, just not awesome. The bedroom was very quiet, well appointed and clean The only downside was only one set of towels for two. Tried calling reception, but the phone just rang and rang and rang! Parking is plentiful, but it is at a supplement. We would stay here again.

Very clean, tidy and well maintained hotel. Very friendly staff, especially Diane who was so welcoming and kind. And a great breakfast with plenty of choice on continental as well as cooked food. All in all a great experience and would highly recommend.

Nice staff. Very helpful. Continental breakfast didn't have a wide choice of food. But what they had was nice. Would stay there again. Lots of nice things to say about The Premier Inn. Nothing nice to say about the restaurant next door. Toby's carvery
