We arrived and were shown our room the staircase smelt damp as did our room. The sheets had mildew all over them. The bedspread did not smell as though it had been washed. Yuk. The room was dusty and the shower black with mould. When I raised the issues with the owners and explained we could not stay there the customer service was appalling. Never again. Luckily we found alternative accommodation and did not have to stay in this dump.

I really feel for small hotels who must have had an awful run through covid but the accomodation was really not up to scratch. Bedroom was ok but nothing special. Bed felt like the springs had gone (but I did sleep better than I expected to). The real issue was the bathroom, strong smell of damp and the shower had so much mold in it that I couldn't bring myself to use it.

Enjoyed our stay here the owners were fine, breakfast was good, nice and hot. Shame they don’t ask if you need an evening meal. The location for the locks is good and you can also walk into town. One downside is the awkward drive as exiting the car park is a little dangerous and not helped my the locals speeding up and down the lane.

Had a lovely overnight stay at this lovely venue. We had the 4 poster bedroom overlooking the garden. We loved the quirkiness and history of the hotel. The breakfast was substantial and delicious. Nothing was too much trouble for the proprietors. The taxi firm recommended by the owner was reliable and value for money.

This hotel functions as a Bed and Breakfast. My first impression was not encouraging. The outer front porch was dirty . Inside was worn and tired but generally clean. Bedding and towels were spotless. Breakfast was fine but personally I like hot food served on at least a warm plate.I won’t be returning

Beautiful hotel, friendly and welcoming staff. Room was spacious, immaculately clean and overlooked tranquil gardens. Breakfast was plentiful and well cooked , good quality sausages which is always our marker of a good breakfast. The only thing lacking was that there was no black pudding 😢 Would most definitely visit again
