I arrived after staff working hours so they upgraded my room with a passcode door and sent me all information via text message. The place is cool and it’s a very convenient location, plenty of parking around at the property

This is the only place I’ll stay in Big Bear. The rooms are rustic but modern, classic but hip. The location is perfect in the heart of the town, and the staff are the best. Frank and Syd and the rest of the crew really work hard so that you enjoy your stay. The bar is awesome too! -Les

This place is amazing and we will be back for sure! Rooms are amazing and well supplied with all you need and if it’s not there the helpful kind staff will make it happen for you. Great location and the best onsite bar I have been at in a long time. Many different room options and the staff were able to help with dinner reservations and a place to get my ski bindings adjusted. Love this hotel! The vibes here are great and very friendly staff! We will stay here everytime we come to Big Bear. Our room was clean and cozy and the property was conveniently located to the village, nearby shops and the mountain. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is great. They have a bar on site which is a great spot to hangout and grab a drink. Highly recommend!

Very clean, quiet, and quality rooms! I spent two nights here with my dogs and loved it. Frank, Shane and everyone else I met while at Sessions were incredibly helpful and kind. 5 star service and quality. The bar and lodge are amazing and a great place to relax and decompress. Definitely a great value for what I paid. Close to the lake, the mountains and down town. I most certainly will be returning!

I happily discovered the Session Retreat Hotel based on a friend’s recommendation for a unique and stylish stay in Big Bear. The exterior was charming, but upon entering the room and communal spaces, the decor and style were beyond expectations – a blend of retro and space-age, reminiscent of a captivating museum. The proximity to the ski resort and downtown village made it convenient for play, dining and nightlife. We were thrilled to explore the innovative concept of the new Bar, the Flatlander on the property. This boutique property impressed us at every turn, and we felt like we had uncovered a hidden gem before it becomes the next big thing.

What an amazing place!!! Great for pets. The owners/managers on site were incredibly accommodating. There are fire pits, tons of games, and tons of recreational space. A huge full kitchen with fridges and an outdoor barbecue. A separate bar and lounge area where we spent a ton of time hanging out. They also will shuttle you into town to shops and restaurants. There’s a 7/11 across the street if you need to get basic things. Also he gave us a tour of the property and there’s a lot of different room options which is cool. We went with 15 people and everyone can’t wait to go back.

Recently stayed here w/ a large group for a birthday & immediately fell in love w/ the prop! This place appeals to anyone looking for more when it comes to a vibe & energy, not just cozy mountain accommodations. The property is huge & what I consider an adult playground as the property has everything one would enjoy during their stay such as fire pits, outdoor games, a huge edgy cool bar/dance hall/event space, and uniquely designed rooms & lodging that has such a cool vibe aesthetic that any young person would love but still maintains that traditionally cozy mountain lodge atmosphere one seeks in the mountains. Everything was beautiful & new, and the decorative touches were above & beyond! There is no place like this in most mountain destinations and I’ve been going to Tahoe, mammoth, and big bear all my life. This is a breath of fresh air in big bear! Not only is this place affordable, but it brings so much more to the table that you won’t find anywhere else bc it has a very hip edge to it. It’s perfectly located in the heart of town and everything including the slopes are just a stones throw away. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to visit whether it be a couple looking for a romantic getaway, a single looking to be close to the slopes & stay in what I consider the new hot spot, a large group celebrating a special occasion, or a family looking for a place that also provides ample space to play outside on their grounds. There are many different types of rooms and in different areas on the property so you can create whatever experience you’re looking for. Also, highly recommend if your booking with a large group to book the lodge as there is a huge communal kitchen, living room and game room with pool table that is so much fun to hangout in and convenient when wanting to save money by making your own meals. The art at this place is just awesome! And anyone with an eye and a sense of wanderlust or humor would find fascinating! I give it 5 stars all the way! Frank, Shane, and Keith are just some of the all stars operating this gem and if you get the chance to meet them, you’ll find yourself not just wanting to hang with them but you’ll understand why this place has such a cool vibe. I came with a large group from San Diego with people from allover the US and it was a hit with everyone!

My husband and I needed a little getaway and decided to go to this hotel. Wow, I am so glad we did! The owners are all very nice and helpful,and the place was amazing. We rented a chalet with our dog, and the place was perfect! Clean, nicely decorated, had everything we needed. We played pool, sat by the bonfires, are totally relaxed. We are already planning our next trip there!
