Accommodation for family. The meal is a better impression than the price in the morning and evening. It is a large bath, but because of the day trip OK, locals and camping cottages continue 々 night １０, so you can't slow down if you don't come out early in the morning because you come to take a bath. It's a public inn, so it's not possible, but if you care about the local people, it's better to make the cost of bathing in several private rooms to make a bath for the guests. At night ８ I was a little joking with my child at the time, and I complained and the front desk came at ８ halftime. I didn't visit to confirm early time of family accommodation for consecutive holidays. One-sided point. I ran around in a slower time, but I didn't point out that there was no revisit.

Stayed after a visit to Furano by car rental. You can go to the sights on foot right next to the platinum waterfall. There is also a locker with a key with a hot spring, so I could take a bath with a smartphone or a room key. The room I stayed with 4 people was a large room with a bed x 2 + futon x 2, and the view from the window was good. Ice put in the water tube was also available at the front desk and was also helpful for the heat countermeasure. It was a pity that I saw the next building from the western style open-air bath. The Japanese style open-air bath was good with the view of the white cherry forest.

An open-air bath with a feeling of openness is good. You can see Shirabeard Falls from the bridge, but you can see people on the bridge from the open-air bath (^_^;) It was a good hot water.

One staff member joked about the weather being “specially ordered” for our arrival, a light-hearted touch that immediately put us at ease. Our room was spacious, impeccably clean, and well-appointed with modern amenities. The view of the bustling train station was surprisingly tranquil, offering a unique blend of urban energy and serene comfort. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep after a day of exploring. Overall, JR Inn Asahikawa perfectly blends convenience, comfort, and a delightful sense of humor. Best amenities. Though the room is not big, I love how they cleverly make good use of every part of the room for functionality. Every space is not wasted and the TV shows the laundry usage situation so you don’t have to queue indefinitely at the laundry area for your turn. One thing to improve on could be having some hanging poles in the toilet so that we can hang our clothes to dry after washing. The dryer at the laundry area doesn’t dry the clothes completely. So we need to extend the dry mode a few more times hence many are hogging the washing machines. Still highly recommended.

Excellent location and breakfast buffet. The universal twin bedroom is a bit small and facing the wall of building across but is functional clean and well maintained. The front desk staff are friendly but can’t communicate in English. We had to use Google translate. Parking across the hotel is 800 yen for 24 hours so would recommend. Beddings are comfortable and room is clean and quiet. Breakfast buffet with sashimi hot dishes and ice cream is such a delight and is the selling point of this hotel. Overall we are very pleased with what paid for as now is non peak season.

The room is relatively simple and plain, but the hot spring from Daisetsu Mountain attached to the hotel has clear and pure water, which is smooth and delicate after washing.

We wanted to hike to Mt. Asahidake during the Koyo (Fall foliage) season, and among the properties at the base of the mountain, La Vista Daisetsuzan appeared to be the highest end accommodation in the area. Both the outside and inside of the lodge are charming and rustic in appearance, but are definitely showing clear signs of age and wear. In fact, while taking a dip in the communal Onsen (natural hot springs) bath, I overheard two men remarking how the place was ”boro boro” (Japanese for ”really worn down.”) Thankfully, we were relieved to find that La Vista Daisetsuzan was at least quite clean, and did not exhibit the old, moldy smell that is commonplace in older properties. And the dining room seems to have been renovated - we enjoyed our dinner here (more on that in a moment.) We stayed in their ”Luxury Room,” the highest category unit that was a relatively spacious 56m² open-plan Junior Suite. Other rooms on premises are quite a bit smaller, but people used to staying in standard rooms at Marriott-class properties will be more than satisfied with these room types. La Vista Daisetsuzan has a communal, gender-segregated Onsen on site - there is both an indoor and open-air outdoor bath, which is appreciated, especially in the Winter months, given that you'll want to warm up in the indoor bath before jumping into the outdoor one. While we did not have breakfast at the property (we wanted to get an early start on our hike, and we're glad that we did - the sky is more clear and there are less crowds), we had the French-Japanese dinner. To say that the meal exceeded our expectations would be an understatement. We're in Hokkaido, and an hour from the nearest city (Asahikawa), yet every dish was creative, beautifully presented and a feast for the eyes and palate. Everything - from the tuna tartare to the mini quiche to the Foie Gras to the al dente pasta with mushrooms and broccoli - was a highlight. The only serving that did not hit the spot was the main (ocean-) fish dish. The fish was hard and dry - when you're in the center of Hokkaido, perhaps they should focus on other ingredients, or at least serve fish that are fine frozen (like Tuna) or that come from the nearby rivers or lakes. Overall, if we were to make a return trip to the area, we would be more than fine with staying again at La Vista Daisetsuzan. In no way is this a destination unto itself, but if our short but pleasant stay is any indication, it's a very solid higher-end option in Daisetsuzan. It definitely blows away the vast majority of lodges in U.S. National Parks, that's for sure!

The variety was adequate, though there is room for improvement in terms of the selection offered. One of the highlights of our stay was waking up to the sounds of nature and the gentle breeze. The hotel's location is perfect for those looking to trek, hike, or simply enjoy the natural beauty of Daisetsuzan National Park. Overall, Higashikawa Asahidake Onsen Hotel Bear Monte offers a comfortable and convenient base for exploring the area, with spacious rooms, thoughtful amenities, and a prime location near key attractions.
