Tried to book in early by 1 hour and was told it would cost us £20 !!!!!was then told no breakfast was available, but the day we left got asked if we are having breakfast??? REALLY REALLY noisy ,from the traffic to the bar patrons leaving the local pub at 3am ,had 2 nights of interrupted sleep. We got new coffee and sugars etc etc on the 2nd morning but they didn't supply clean cups so had to use the ones from the previous day . Got charged £6.00 for a pint of beer (rip ifd) and was served by a lady who was eating fish and chips behind the bar ??? Will definitely not be back to this place

This hotel is under new management & work has started on many improvements. Despite this we had a lovely stay. The work going on was not disruptive although food is not available just yet. Very much look forward to the menus that are in the planning. Have stayed here a number of times & rooms are generous & comfy. The furniture is in keeping with the old Inn so is traditional & yes the floor boards creak but its an old Inn ! Bathroom was spotlessly clean. Location is perfect & parking free in large car park. All staff were friendly & helpful. Didn't have enough milk on one morning , easily resolved by bar staff. Bar prices were average hotel prices, if not happy with that ...visit Spoons down the road. Many other places to eat & drink within very close proximity.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS-Run down shabby institution being run on a shoestring, no hot water, no heating, unprofessional staff, poor hygiene- what can I say. Was duped into booking myself and five freinds into this shambles and regretted it hourly until I left. Car parking was free but the tablet didn`t connect so the lousy car park operator are still pursuing PCN`s because the Hotel owners are uninterested. AVOID at all costs.

Very comfortable room with excellent bathroom. Very friendly staff and a cute, but small bar. The hotel said it might be noisy but I had a room at the back that was absolutely quiet. Convenient car parking behind. Only had breakfast but that was excellent. Don't believe the negative comments you may read on other sites. It was lovely.

This pub hotel was looking very tired from the outside, should have given us a clue. Room was old and dated with the one plus, a comfortable bed. The bathroom!!! Shower was filthy around the doors, and wouldn't regulate temp. Less than quarter bottle of shoeer gel. Less than a quarter of a toilet roll with no extra rolls. Sink cold tape not fixed securely in place. Room was just old, with Smart TV that wasn't smart. £94 rip off. I complained to duty manager on leaving, did or offered nothing. I very rarely if ever complain. I would not stay or ever recommend this hotel to anyone. No wonder it was virtually empty when we arrived. Unable to open window in near 30degree heat and broken fan in room.

We stayed in this hotel 3 years ago which is why we went back but oh my, what a drastic change! It’s become very shabby. They don’t serve breakfast anymore. There are no reception phones in the rooms as, to be honest, there is no one on reception after 5. The restaurant closes as well as the bar. What’s that all about? The room was clean but stains on the carpet, walls grubby. The only toiletries was an all in one bottle of shampoo/conditioner/body wash. No face cloths. Had a strange man climb up onto the roof and attempt to get into my room. (Not the hotels fault but none the less it was scary) I find it hard to say anything nice really, it was like you are in the hotel and they just shut up shop and leave you all night until morning. It was all very bizarre. Carpets throughout were worn and dated. Faulty towers comes to mind. So no, I would definitely steer clear of this Hotel. Consequently I will not go back there.

What a very strange place. It was as if everyone had up and left half way through a renovation. Checking in was extraordinary… we told the receptionist that we were there to check in, he looked up, no response, no greeting, no welcome. We had to ask to register our car for parking, then when we asked if we could check in a bit early to be told that our room was ready, but we would be charged £20 to drop our bags off. The rooms are tired, outdated and the whole place is tatty, way past it’s sell by. The radiators were hot all night and dangerously boiling water came out of both taps in the bathroom. We would have reported it to reception if there had been any one there. We won’t be going back and we definitely will not be recommending it to any friends.

I stayed at this hotel a few years back and loved it so much so we decided to go again and it has since changed management and I have to say the place has gone downhill, not only has it lost its charm and character, it needs alot of work doing to bring it up to a standard that people will love, Rooms are dirty, cobwebs everywhere so the cleaner isn't doing her job right, things are broken, the tiles on the bathroom were missing pieces and some broken, to the point it was dangerous, something was leaking from the ceiling into the bath so it looked like someone had passed urine in the bath, the Internet is poor, they have smart tvs in rooms but you can't access the Internet to even watch anything, there was only light bites to eat when we stayed which was poor as the items we wanted wasn't available.. I'd be embarrassed if I was the manager running this place, no care and attention and the prices don't reflect the low quality your getting so I'd recommend people staying in the bicester area to look elsewhere.. Clearly just a money grab now
