The family that owns this hotel cares nothing about customer service. We stayed 3 nights and received housekeeping services exactly ZERO TIMES The excuse was that my son was in the room. He was in the room briefly on the first morning but usually they return later to make up the room. The second morning nothing was done and the sullen woman at the desk claimed it was because my son was in the room again, which was an outright lie. This woman badly needs basic training in customer service. I don't think she knows how to smile. I said that the staff should return later when this happens only to be told they're much too busy for that. so I asked how many rooms each was responsible for and she had no idea. I then asked how she could say they were busy or not busy. She then said "I don't want to talk to you", and told me to call her brother. I seldom stay at these low budget dives for these very reasons and will be taking my complaints up the chain but am not optimistic given previous comments.

Those of us who stay in Red Roof Inns know generally what to expect: insufficient lighting, often a broken desk chair, unhappy front desk staff, and slow drains. But, most importantly, we expect a reasonable price. The Red Roof in Staunton, checks most of those boxes. The room was large, it felt recently refurbished, and the bed was comfortable, albeit a little squeaky. I appreciate the choice of pillows. The location, right off I-81 but otherwise in the middle of nowhere - i.e., no adjacent restaurants or amenities - allows it to have a generous area for walking pets and parking large vehicles. It even has a pool. My room was clean and decently appointed. Although the clock worked, the TV didn't, and there was no plastic bag for the ice bucket. The room did, however, come with a refrigerator and small microwave, as well as a coffee maker. It is a decent low-budget bet if you are traveling on I 81.

Location very convenient to Rt. 81. Property old and rundown,but in a safe area. Had to move from first room assigned due to moldy smell in room. Next room not much better- a/c unit vent filthy and lock on door broken. It is pet friendly, but you can tell they don’t like dogs! Staff not welcoming or friendly. Could be a nice place with a good cleaning and better customer service!

Stopped here over night on our way south. Little tricky getting off the highway and up a back road. I was in a motorhome so had a great parling lot with lots of room. Room was not great molding in the washroom was off color and black in places. Carpet smelled. Bottom in we should have slept in the RV. Won't stay here again.

The signage leading you to the 1/4 mile driveway is very good. The only problem is the hill you have to drive up. The clerk admitted that they have people go into the ditch if the road is icy. We stayed in a non-smoking king room (#126) by the pet walk area. There was plenty of electrical ports and the bed was comfortable and solid. It was remarkably quiet despite being adjacent to the I-81. Surprise! This hotel served a continental breakfast with coffee and orange juice. I had bagels and cream cheese. Not in the mood for cereal.

We stay at Red Roof Inns because we have a large dog. We clean up after dog and follow pet policy all the time. Since 2018 we have stayed at many Red Roof Inns on our drive to and from FL and upstate NY and only 2 have made the never stay at again list and this is now on that list. I travel with a bag of cleaning supplies, and they were used at this location. Spouse gave room condition a 3 out of 10, not good. This morning there was no water in the building and when he called the front desk was told building was out of water until 9 AM, but he and son could pack up their things and go to a room in another building to shower. Since they were up to get an early start driving the offer of moving to another room was not a solution. Spouse asked for a partial refund for the inconvenience of no water and proprietor had no response. Husband told him I will contact Corporate, and he said Good Luck. On return trip I will find another pet friendly hotel/motel but it will not be this one.

I stayed at this flop. The desk clerk was rude & argumentative. The tv didn't work. The room was filthy. It even had bugs on the walls. The room was dirty with sticky floors as well. Didn't honor app price. Ended leaving at 3 a.m.
