Whenever we visit Beloit, we always try to stay at the Goodwin because it has a great decor and amenities, is very clean and has a fantastic restaurant (Velvet Buffalo). While there, take time to take a stroll along the river which is just across the street. Be sure to book early since they can easily be fully booked if you wait too long.

I thought the hotel was very clean and well maintained. I do not like a firm mattress, so my rating is lower because of that. I also was not a fan of the shower being open in the middle of the room, it seemed a little creepy to me.

The Hotel Goodwin is a real gem of a hotel. Super staff, clean and comfortable, and Velvet Buffalo restaurant has great food and wine. Anyone wanting a nice hotel for a weekend away should look here!

There was inadequate storage space for our clothes. We had long garment bags and the closet had a very short hanging rod. The open shelving in the closet for our clothes is also inadequate. I was in room 3001 which is very spacious. There was only one stuffed chair and a desk chair. There was plenty of room for more comfortable seating arrangement, perhaps 2 chairs and an end table table would be nice. The elevator was out of service Saturday, September 3 at 11PM when we returned from an off-site wedding. I was told by the front desk clerk that the restaurant staff had captured the elevator and were using it to setup for function the following morning. I asked if it could be interrupted so that we could use the elevator to get to our rooms. He told me "no, there was nothing he could do, that the restaurant was separate from the hotel". I, my wife and several other quests had to walk up three flights of stairs to our rooms. This is totally unacceptable.

This hotel is stunning and our room was luxurious. I travel a lot and I’ve never seen such a large and beautiful shower. The bed was extremely comfortable as well.

Great hotel. Free parking, walkable to everything in downtown and the Sky Carol game. Clean, well decorated, comfortable and classy. Even a little continental bfast with coffee. They offer passes to the Y and pool club, we didn't have time but plan to come back. Great stay

My son was married on the Rooftop at Hotel Goodwin August 3, 2024. I highly recommend this venue for an exceptional, intimate, memorable experience. The staff was absolutely professional, kind and accommodating. The service was perfect and the food and drink outstanding. We were able to bring in our own flowers, centerpieces and cake. The view was lovely. The hotel rooms were beautiful and the towels and linens extremely comfortable. Best of all, we parked our car in the lot without charge and were able to walk to the farmer's market, restaurants and bars all weekend! We can't wait to return!

This is a beautiful hotel! So classy. Love all of the artwork! Great beds. Quiet! It is a great location for walking. Parking is right around the corner.
