Hotels Near Gu Mengyu Former Residence in Beijing

The service attitude of the girl at the front desk is very enthusiastic and helpful. I encountered some problems due to the weather and she helped me solve them in time. The location is excellent and convenient for travel. It is within walking distance of Drum Tower, Shichahai, Yandaixie Street, Jingshan Park, Prince Gong's Mansion, and the Forbidden City. It is 200 meters away from Shichahai on Metro Line 8. It is also convenient to eat nearby Yao Ji Chaogan and Ma Kai Restaurant. The hotel has complete facilities, free tea in the public area, comfortable beds, ancient style, clean and hygienic. Highly recommended

This hotel is in a great location close to the Drum and Bell Towers. Excellent for exploring the Hutons.Lots of restaurants, bars and cafes nearby. Metro stations within easy walking distance to explore more of Beijing. Surprisingly quiet too considering its location on the tourist trail.

A colleague had stayed here before on a business trip and said it was very nice. It just so happened that I came here on a business trip to experience it. When I first walked into the alley, I thought it was shabby. Maybe the alley is like this, but it is different when you enter the hotel lobby. It has old Beijing-style furnishings and classic decoration, as well as warm greetings from the front desk staff. I arrived very early and the room had not been cleaned yet. When I sat next to it to rest, the staff asked me carefully if I would like a cup of coffee. I thought there was a fee, but it turned out to be free. They thoughtfully handed over sugar packets and milk. It was indeed very comfortable. I had a great time staying here for a few days. The room was cleaned very clean. After I finished my work, I visited the nearby Drum Tower and Shichahai Nanluogu. It is very convenient to walk around the alleys.

The location was great and the people were fine if a little inattentive. The bed and the pillow were hard, they rationed us toilet paper to about five sheets a day and the air in the hotel was bone dry. We tried to use Aircon as little as possible (we used it once during our stay) but the air was still dry enough to chap our lips and cause us throat and nose problems throughout our stay. We would leave in the morning totally congested, get a little better throughout the day only to get congested again in the night. The hotel was fine but I would encourage anyone to think twice about staying here unless they fix their ventilation problems.

I liked the style and character of the room. It had an old chinese feel. The room was clean, but common areas were somewhat dirty / cluttered. The staff was helpful when I needed a specific plug for my computer. They were also helpful in dealing with a local courier. The room set up was good for a family. Unfortunately one of my family members got a small amount of blood on the bed linens. I was asked to pay to remove the blood. I find this to be an unusual request. I’ve traveled all over the world and have never been asked this. I found it degrading to be asked for money to wash sheets and be sent pictures. Not good service.

The room is very clean, the soundproofing is not good, but everything else is good. You can follow my route to play around the hotel for two days. The walking distance is Shichahai and Houhai → Yandaixie Street → Drum Tower → check in to the hotel → find a night market at night → check out after waking up → Beiluoguxiang → Wudaoying Hutong → Confucius Temple and Guozijian Museum. This is the route, and you can basically play around the area.

We came from Beijing airport by taxi to the hotel. The entrance to Lemeng hotel is situated behind Manxin mansion drum tower. So if you are coming by taxi to the hotel, don't miss the side entrance in the first image. We selected the courtyard comfy room. The bed was comfortable, cozy and the hotel was near line 8 metro which was convenient for exploring the city.

I stayed for my whole trip and the location is quite good. The receptionist especially the tall slim guy was so kind! He’s so gentle and willing to help even though communication is a challenge. Thank you!! The only thing I can comment is that the bathing/washing area is shared with the customers in the Cafe, it’s quite uncomfortable hopefully next time there’ll be a separate area for us. All else is fine.

The entire room is exquisite and compact, with complete facilities. Everything is within a 3.5*3.5 square area. The bathroom is right next to the bed, which prevents the moisture from being discharged. Therefore, the humidity in the room is extremely high, and the quilt feels like it is wringing out water. Too humid. Also, the bathroom light and exhaust are on the same switch, so if you turn off the light at night, the exhaust will also be turned off! This type of room has no windows, so the humidity is increasing. Other than that, everything else is very good!

The service is first-class. The staff is polite, friendly, responsible, thoughtful, considerate and meticulous. The facilities are exquisite and the details are well done. The best. Convenient transportation. The surrounding living facilities are complete. It is convenient for food, clothing, housing, transportation and medical care. A little suggestion is that the sound insulation equipment in the room needs to be improved. The carpet in the corridor needs to be cleaned or updated in time. I will consider staying here for a long time.
