I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Chestnuts Boutique B&B! I was able to park up my car at the front of the establishment and walk around Bath for the rest of my visit! Attractions and places of interest were around a 15 minute walk away- which is fantastic!
The host was so helpful and attentive.
My room was clean and comfortable! I had access to plenty of wardrobe space,a TV with Netflix, a fridge, kettle and a well stocked box of tea treats (& fresh cakes too!)
Breakfast was gorgeous and fresh. There were plenty of local leaflets available to read about local events and attractions too.
Thank you very much!

Anonymous UserThe rooms in the main building are beautiful. A rare view. The restaurant is understaffed and the waiting time for breakfast is too long. If you don't rush, it will take at least an hour.
Martin, the concierge, is very good. He helped us find a restaurant because most of the restaurants are closed on weekends. He also drove us there because he was afraid that we didn't know the mountain roads in Bath. The two restaurants he recommended are very delicious and trustworthy.

Guest UserWe stayed here during the Jane Austen festival and had a wonderful time! The workers are super friendly and helpful, great to ask any questions about Bath. The place has an old-school style that is so very charming. There’s a bit of wear and tear, but it doesn’t feel dirty or run down at all, just adds to the classic charm of the place. We had the Executive Room with Garden View and it was just lovely! I felt like a princess. The lounge and gardens are also beautiful and fun to take a look at. Just a heads up, if you’re going into the city centre by foot, it’s best to walk down to the centre, bu take a bus up to the hotel. The walk is very uphill.
Definitely give this place a try!

Although the location is away from the city center, the environment is quiet and the interior is elegant and clean. The room is small but the window is bright and the scenery outside the window is beautiful. The breakfast is rich and the styles are optional and taste good. recommend!

Guest UserLocated on a hill top outside the Bath city, the hotel provides what we needed for one night's stay. The only shirtcoming is we had to drive into the city for dinner as we wanted something different from what the hotel restaurant provided. Apart from the location, we were happy with our stay.

The room was clean, cozy, and thoughtfully prepared with everything I needed. I especially appreciated the peaceful atmosphere — it was the perfect place to relax after a long day.
The location was also very convenient, close to local shops and attractions, yet quiet enough for a restful night’s sleep.
Overall, this guesthouse offers comfort, warmth, and great hospitality. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a welcoming and comfortable place to stay.

Dominic0192The hostel itself is decent and clean, but there are two major downsides worth mentioning.
First, the socket placement is genuinely terrible. There are barely any conveniently located plugs near the top beds, which makes charging your phone or using devices really inconvenient, especially in shared dorms.
Second, the location is not really good. The hostel is quite far uphill from the city centre, and walking back to the top is exhausting after a long day around Bath. It’s manageable, but definitely something to consider if you have luggage or don’t want a steep climb every time you return.
Overall, okay for a budget stay, but the poor socket layout and inconvenient hilltop location would make me think twice before booking again.

CarrieC422Enjoyed the stay. I came here with two friends and I stayed in a room by myself. Spacious and clean room even tho some touch up in the bathroom would be nice.
Very friendly staff from the moment we checked in till we checked out. Lovely spa facilities. Beautiful hotel. Safe area as we walked to the city centre and back at different times. Quiet but safe.

This is a charming historic mansion with great character; while the facilities are a bit dated, the exterior and outdoor scenery are super nice.
Free parking makes it perfect for those driving, it is only a short drive from the Bath city center.
The traditional-style hotel bar was quiet and moody, it stays open until 11pm, allowing us to enjoy a drink even after arriving late from dinner.
The room size was decent and the heating worked well; the bathroom featured a bathtub though it took some time for the hot water to start flowing properly. Unfortunately, a false fire alarm went off in the middle of the night, which disrupted our sleep, but since we were only staying for one night and checking out early, I didn't raise the issue.
It was a classic ”old hotel” experience as expected, and the exceptionally warm and friendly attitude of the front desk staff made up for the hiccups, though my expectations might be higher if I were staying for a longer period.

Stayed at Wentworth House for one night. The location was handy — only about a 6 or 7-minute taxi ride into the centre of Bath. Parking on site was free, which is always a bonus, though spaces were limited. The shower worked fine with good hot water, and at £120 a night for three people, the price wasn’t unreasonable for Bath.
On the downside, the place is very dated and could do with some serious modernisation. Our room had a noticeable damp smell and the single-glazed windows didn’t help keep the room warm or quiet. I can’t comment on the food as we didn’t eat there, but overall, it’s an okay option if you just need somewhere for a night and aren’t too fussy — though a refresh would really lift the place.
