The environment and facilities of the B&B itself are very good, and it is a very atmospheric accommodation. The biscuits in the room were delicious, and the meals provided by the B&B were also good, but not cost-effective (some dishes were a bit salty). The location is relatively remote, and I feel that people who stay here generally drive their own cars. We are a bit far away from Keswick and Derwentwater, and if the bus stops, we can only call to book a taxi. However, the overall accommodation experience is still very good!

A superb pet friendly hotel. From the initial, informative check-in through to the amazing restaurant experience, I can’t recommend this place enough. The staff are super friendly and attentive which made us all feel like valued customers. I’m sure I speak for our golden retriever on that one too. It was great to see a number of other very well behaved dogs in the hotel. The quality of the food in the restaurant for dinner was outstanding. Garlic King Prawns to start, fish and chips for main (a generous size too) and I finished up with a tremendous twist on a crème brûlée. The breakfast the next morning was excellent too with a choice of cereal, fruit juice and a really nice cooked breakfast. The room we stayed in was nice and clean. It was nice to wake up to a view of the mountains over at Whinlatter. All in all this was an excellent choice of hotel for a two night stay. We didn’t know how our pup would handle being away from home in a hotel for the very first time but we need not have worried. Highly recommended.

I came here for dinner and had a lovely time. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was cosy. I had steak pie with vegetables. It was hearty and flavoursome. The place was not overly populated by diners and I had my choice of seating. I was glad to see some people had their dogs with them.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious enough, twin beds with super comfy mattress toppers. Everything about the hotel is good quality. Friendly atmosphere and good food. We liked the fact that dogs are so welcome and would definitely recommend.

Everything you would want especially if your travelling with your well behaved fur baby. This hotel is lovely throughout. Our views from our room were outstanding. Bus stop end of the driveway that takes you to and from Keswick or Cockermouth for just £2 each way. We will definitely be returning in the very near future, thank you to all the staff for a wonderful stay especially Claire.

Beautiful location. The hotel is warm, friendly and the meals are of a very high quality. I travelled with family, but had a solo room, which was of a good size, with excellent facilities, and decorated to a high standard. Everywhere was spotlessly clean, unique and cosy, with an authentic “olde worlde “ feel. A rewarding and happy four day stay. I highly recommend and look forward to returning…

My husband and I enjoyed a delightful mini break in this gorgeous Manor House. We had a magnificent view from our bedroom window and the breathtaking vista changes according to the weather. The accommodation is spotlessly clean and it’s heart warming to see so many well behaved dogs in the dining room. All staff were polite with welcoming smiles. Highly recommended anytime of the year! 🤗
