Traveling to wild Africa is definitely one of the most dreamed and wanted trips, it’s that place in the world that you can find yourself free of civilization and finding peace without so much information from screens and media. When we thought of traveling to Tanzania, Pionner Camp was always in our minds, if you are doing a romantic trip or with friends this hotel is definitely the one. When we arrived at the airport our guide Roger was waiting for us with his jeep, he made us a quick meal, using a platform attached to the cars front bumper as a table, with fruits, bread, juices, coffee, cookies and started talking about our next days, it was so passionated that we could imagine our dream trip coming true, as we started heading to the camp, around two hours drive, our journey begun with two lions feeding nearby the airport, like those movies scenes, when suddenly you realize it’s 50mts near you, really breathtaking. Roger was amazing, he could spot ANY wild life within kilometers, we saw other animals and he told us so much information about how animais live and how they migrate during this time of the year, our schedule was 2 safaris/day, we could see the wildebeests migration (our main reason to choose Tanzania) and 4 from the big 5 animals, such an amazing experience, Roger was restless and always available for our ideas. As we arrive at the hotel we were welcomed by big Fred with his huge smile, the general manager and his crew, he explained to us all all about the hotel areas, took us to drink some refreshments at the lodge, with a view of the Savanah which looks like the lion king movie, we were obviously amazed. Big Fred was so friendly and so welcoming that is impossible to not feel at home, we were also introduced to our butler Juma who was responsible for taking care of us at the hotel regarding our meals, drinks and tent, the kind of person that you want to hug all the time, he was ALWAYS by our side, making our stay as much perfect as it could be, Juma has an amazing ability to record all your requests so you don’t have to repeat it twice, he definitely was one of the kindest people we’ve met. Our tent was incredible, if you could imagine a huge luxury tent, with all kind of amenities and decoration inspired on the pioneer group from 1920 you will probably not still get it, pictures can’t describe how comfortable and cosy it was, even the small details like written letters, the delicious 10 pillows or the cleaning of the bathroom. In the end our 3 days were really unbelievable, during our safaris twice a day, having breakfast or lunch in the middle of the Savanah, resting at the tent after lunch or dining at the hotel facilities at different spots every day, this was indeed special. Thanks to all the team, they were all amazing.
