Bansko Ski Lift Area
We stayed at the Tanne Hotel during our 9 day ski vacation. All in all we took up 5 rooms, which were neat and welcoming, with a feeling of cleanliness overall. I was there with my wife and 4 year old and it was great for us. The ski lift was within walking distance (which didn't matter much since it couldn't get you anywhere, due to the number of people, but that's another story for another time) and there was ample parking for all guests. The real highlights of the place were the Spa area, which included a pool, a jacuzzi, several saunas, massage, showers and lounge chairs, and the restaurant. In fact, the restaurant deserves its own paragraph. Large and welcoming, the staff was professional and always ready to pick up on us needing them. While English wasn't a string point of the waiters, they spoke more than enough to never get our orders wrong and they were super friendly and welcoming. And the food - oh my god the food. If you're not from the Balkans, you owe it to yourself to try the soups here, as well as the lamb and the sausage, but really, everything on the menu was brilliant. I give this place a solid 10. Thanks, Tanne, for the great base of operations for our vacation.
Premier Luxury Mountain Resort

The hotel is a gem. We stayed for 5 nights in Dec 2024. You can tell that the company or owner has invested lots of time and money to create this result. Excellent quality of materials the rooms are spacious and the setup was beautiful. They gave us a fantastic family room, with very comfortable beds and was very clean. Now the downsides. Except for the housekeeping department, which did a fantastic job and kept the hotel sparkling clean, all the rest of the staff need better manners and lots of training. The front desk could not help me with any questions I had. They did not even know if they knew if a bus made any roots from the hotel to the town. The next day I discovered that they have their own van which takes you downtown without any charge. Anytime I would asked they would say they would get back to me or call my room for the requested information. No one bothered. The night shift receptionist did not speak English and we could not communicate at all. Waiting staff need to be trained. A 5 * hotel is not only the facilities. You need to have the proper services to call yourself a 5* hotel. Breakfast staff and lobby bar staff were all around the place doing random things or checking their phones except of taking care of the guests. When we went at the lobby bar to have something to eat and drink the place was empty and there were two waiters on duty. We had to call to call them to come to the table and even then it took them an additional 5’ for them to come. Everything was served like if we were at a cheap tavern. All plates and drinks came by hand and never used a single tray. Prices were reasonable except for the small bottle of water which costed 10 lev =5€! Breakfast staff would gather in parties of two or three and stare at the people having breakfast and making comments to each other. Not very helpful. The only person always doing something was a new guy with long hair probably a trainee. Breakfast setup was ok. The groom at the reception would always be on his phone doing nothing. I was struggling with 3 suitcases and his only concern was to hide his phone. Never offered to help. The maintenance department was doing some work outside of our rooms. We were not bothered about it at all. After the first day they left all the rubbish and equipment there and never took them ,away. They could at least throw away the plastic wrappings, brooms, and mops and tidy up the area. We had to see this every time we would sit out at our balcony. The ladies at the spa were very friendly and polite. We booked massage treatments for all 4 of us. We were very happy. One of the jacuzzis was problematic and the water has not hot. The sauna and steam bath were good. If the waiting and front desk staff gets trained and services improve only then this hotel can really be called a 5*hotel. I really hope that something of the above will change in the near future as the hotel really deserves it. In any case I highly recommend it as it stands out from the rest in

We are very grateful to Janitsa for her immediate and professional attention at check-in. She was really sincere with our needs throughout our stay. A lot has been written about the air conditioning, but it has been improved and was available upon request. Most facilities in Bansko do not usually have air conditioning because winter is the main season, but this is one of the few hotels that has air conditioning and is comfortable even in the summer. The facilities have been renovated and the rooms are clean and modern. We planned to stay two nights, but are considering an additional night because of the staff and comfort. If you have an IT visa, you would be super happy if you could stay here long term.
Regnum Bansko Ski Hotel & Spa

A stay at Regnum Bansko is definitely worth. Quitely located in the upper area of the town, a short walk from the gondola station, this hotel offers everything that one needs for a nice holiday: indoor and outdoor swimming pools, water slides, sporting fields, whirlpool, massage rooms. The hotel has a dependency in the nearby Banya village where several pools with thermal water at temperatures between 28 and 39 °C can be used free of charge by the hotel guests. The suites are spacious enough and can accommodate families with up to four children. The hotel restaurant offers a variety of dishes of the national and international cuisine, a huge salad bar, desserts, fruit and vegetables. The opening hours are long enough for all visitors and there is enough of everything everytime so one doesn't need to hurry to get his favourite dish. The staff is very kind and client oriented. All requests are satisfied within a few minutes, no matter at what time of the day or night. I can only conclude with my children's now and then asking ”When are we going again to this great five-star hotel in Bansko?”

Our visit was out of snow season. Many of the nearby pubs and restaurants were closed but that’s to expected. Breakfast had one of the best buffets ever! Amazing yoghurt, a chef on hand to make you omelettes how you want, and proper barista coffee makers, who don’t mind making you more than 1 coffee. Loads of helpful staff. Staying here with my family, there was a kids club, though my 8 year old was to cool for that. Several pools and some heated. Whilst next door was a massive jumping feature (much more than a castle) kids from 4-11 could have stayed on there all day. The inflatable was meant to cost 10 leva for 20mins but some days there were no one there and when my kids time was up and I tried to pay more they would not take it. Rooms are old, but clean and featured a lot of wood, loads of storage and reasonable size. Restaurants in the hotel, like the hotel itself, are rather expensive. There was a great alternative 10m up and across the road, which served a variety of food. Though I do recommend walking to main village centre and trying a tavern with local cuisine. A few times we went to reception and could not find anyone available and after waiting usually gave up. The most amazing aspect for me, was the spa relaxation zone, Which included a “Shower experience”, multiple sauna’s with differing degrees, a few hot steam boxes again with differing degrees, and an ice box which had ice/snow but wasn’t that cold. I haven’t experience all this before coming from Australia so I thought it was pretty cool to give all these a go and my skin felt wonderful afterwards. Also the toiletries are Salvatore Ferragamo were wonderful. During the warmer months there is plenty of hiking trails and that sort of thing, but next time if I ever get a chance to come back to Bansko it will be in the winter months. I would love to stay at the Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko again, but the biggest drawback was cost!

So, let's start with the positive aspects: - We arrived at 14:00 there and the rooms were ready. We got the room very quickly and everything was clean, cosy and warm. - We had one Studio and we expected something small for two people. But the room was huge, bigger than most of the rooms you will find in Bansko for the same price (we paid 480 Euros for 7 nights (2 people) with half board. The view of the room was wonderful as well, as we had the windows to the mountains, in the morning it was an unique view. The studio has everything you need for two people: fridge, sink, glasses, plates, cups, etc. - We came with our personal car and the parking is huge so there is no need to worry about the parking. There is also one underground parking (limited) where you can park your car if you want to avoid the snow or for any other reason. - Near the parking there is a HUGE ski room in order to deposit your skies and boots. - The breakfast is really really good. If you go in the morning at 7:30 when it opens, everything is hot, the food is fresh, and a lot more possibilities than you would normally eat for breakfast. The coffee is made from beans, orange/apple/cherry juice (not fresh, but really decent). - The spa is very large, clean as the hole hotel is. The pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steambath have the right temperature, maybe the jacuzzi should be a little hotter, but it depends on the person. You get new towels every time you go to the spa. Bathrobes and slippers are provided in each room which is a big advantage. - The shuttle bus to the gondola and back is very on time, we did not have any problem when we used it. We did not use it every day as it was pretty crowded and we went skiing with the car sometimes. - The internet is working pretty well as long as you are not trying to download movies or something similar. - The room towels where changed every day and the blankets each 3 days even after the second change we would have got only one more night to stay. Now, let's talk about some negative aspects that should not be in a 4 star hotel: - First of all, the heaters from the ski room for your boots are not working......why would you make a 100 slot heater if it is not working? You have to take your boots in the room in order to warm them. - The underground parking is sometimes like a deposit. Everything is smelling like they are building the hotel right now, but I guess that is not a problem, you just stay like MAXIMUM 10 minutes in the garage. - The dinner is pretty much not what it should be. If you have medium preferences, you will always have what to eat. In the 7 days that we stayed there, we had each day something new, which is great, but the food is COLD, really really COLD and is awful to eat cold food after a day of skiing. Also, there is NO drinks included.....as it is in the hole Bansko...with the exception of few hotels. - Some COVID regulations are not respected as they should be. Even if the employees are wearing masks,
