My husband and I stayed 3 nights in The Cascade Room. Upon arrival we were in awe of how beautiful the lodge was, both inside and outside. My favorite was the outside porch, which was huge, comfortable and most of all relaxing. We had two of our three breakfasts out there. Bobbi, the Innkeeper, is a true delight. She is full of information and wow, can she cook!! We can’t wait to return.

Our first trip back in 5 years and everything was perfect again!! The hospitality, ambiance, quiet peaceful solitude, and the river running beside the lodge was awesome. Big shout out to Miss Bobbie and her staff. No one does it better! The morning breakfast was beyond amazing. I brought my flyrod and managed to catch and release a very nice rainbow trout. Watched deer in the yard while I fished. Just beautiful.

Amazing gem in Banner Elk. Beautiful lodge tucked away next to a lovely river. Bobbi is absolutely fantastic, and a certified chef. Every day breakfast is a treat - homemade bread, homemade james, eggs with truffles - culinary masterpieces. Rooms are very comfortable, spacy, and clean. Minutes away from skiing, restaurants, etc.

Location is wonderful, accommodations are wonderful (Mountain Laurel Room) and Bobbie is a superb hostess … she has intimate knowledge of the area, contacts/advice Re. the best restaurants, advice Re. the best hiking/waterfalls, yada yada yada. One could not ask for a better experience. Mid October visit hit wonderful peak colors. Breakfast is absolutely outstanding. It is served at 9 AM , so if one wants to get up and “hit the trails” before 8 AM. you’ll miss it … but it’s also wonderful just to sit on the deck, listen to the water, and the birds, read a book, have a glass of wine, yada yada yada.

Extremely quiet, clean, welcoming, and absolutely beautiful. Our breakfast was scrumptious and superb, and, everyone treated us wonderfully. The entire property is so pretty, and tucked away; secluded from all the outside noise. We really did not want to leave. We hope to be able to visit and stay at The Lodge at River Run again!

This is probably our 6th trip to the Lodge at River Run and my first review I have ever written for any place I have stayed... but this place deserves it and it is long overdue! We visit nice B and B's all over the United States but this is one of the finest. Perfect getaway for us as we love hiking, mountains, and having fires at night in a stunning setting. There are great local restaurants and wineries and breweries around too! The innkeeper Bobbie makes breakfasts that should be featured in her own cookbook... the French toast, the amazing cheddar grits, eggs Benedict you name it! She also has so many tips of things to do no matter what your interest. The rooms are super clean and spacious but cozy, we absolutely love our room (heated bathroom floors too). Besides the gorgeous "lodge like" interior, the outside grounds are the icing on the cake. Backing to the Elk River, its so pretty as it is lit with accent lights at night and you listen to the sounds of river and waterfalls as you sit by the big outdoor fire with your favorite drink. Or if you want to just hang at the lodge with your favorite book there is a huge fireplace on the covered back deck and that is such a pleasant way to spend the afternoon as well. There are so many wonderful things about the The Lodge at River Run and I have only mentioned a few, but will leave the rest for your trip to find out on your own adventure, so I don't ruin all the pleasant surprises .... as there will be a few!!!

My husband and I had the most relaxing, refreshing, delightful weekend getaway at The Lodge at River Run! Right away, it felt like coming home to a cozy, weekend retreat. The lodge is gorgeous and beautifully decorated--fireplaces, cozy blankets, games...we just melted into a second home for the weekend! We loved the Mountain Laurel room! The bed was so comfortable with lots of luxurious linens. We enjoyed the private entrance, especially because the patio was a perfect place to hang my husbands waders to dry after fishing in the Elk river right out back! The river is even lit at night--gorgeous! He caught and released several beautiful trout, while I caught up on some reading! Actually we only left the lodge for dinner really! (But if you wanted to, the location is great for Grandfather Mountain, skiing, shopping, Linville, App State...) Bobbie's breakfasts are delicious! We had French Toast made with homemade bread and then French eggs with sausage and berries with cream. Yum! We also enjoyed wine and focaccia served at 5pm before watching the basketball game in the downstairs living room! There is truly nothing that I would change about our stay. or the lodge. We have stayed at a number of B&Bs, and Bobbie has the balance of hosting and getaway down pat! We can't wait to return to try some different seasons at the lodge!

We have stayed in lots of B&Bs, but this lodge is the most beautiful we have ever seen. It is hard to describe how amazing it is and everything was just perfect. We loved staying here. The manager, Bobbie, was just so wonderful and we enjoyed talking with her, and her recommendations for places to visit were great. We felt at home here, and would very highly recommend staying here. We hope to return! 10 out of 10 all around!!

My husband and I stayed at this charming B&B for the second time and LOVED it as much as the first. The lodge is stunning and makes you feel secluded in the mountains. The view is beautiful and peaceful. Bobbie serves a DELICIOUS breakfast and ensures your needs are met your entire stay. I highly recommend this B&B for your next stay in Banner Elk. You are close enough to town to enjoy a variety of restaurants for dinner. I promise you wil be planning your next trip as soon as you leave!
