This was our first stay in the Premier Inn Bangor. We booked here because we usually love a Premier Inn, we have stayed in quite a few over the years. This hotel is clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. Check in was quick and the man who checked us in said we could adjust our meal booking to a meal deal as we had decided to eat in the hotel on the first evening. We had a bit of a debate with the Manager to change to the meal deal option. The restaurant was incredibly quiet, which might have been a bit of a clue. The meal was just ok. My husband had fish and chips, and I think because not many people were eating, the fryer wasn't very hot and the fish, although cooked, was quite greasy. I had the curry and it was ok. Breakfast the next morning was also just ok - the breakfast chefs were sharing a lot of banter and we noticed a couple of hygiene issues, probably because they were not really concentrating on their job. A dirty cloth was put down on the cooked sausages and one of the chefs was scratching his hair. In addition, a bottle of cleaning fluid was left sitting beside the cooked food. The food wasn't particularly warm despite sitting under heat lamps and the eggs looked very overcooked, so we avoided them. I don't like to complain about this sort of thing while we're on a break as it could have been a one off, and indeed breakfast on our second day was much better. The room was clean but the bed wasn't very comfortable for me personally. Although I turned the heat off in the room it was still very warm. We would recommend this hotel but probably suggest eating elsewhere.
