The Standard, Bangkok Mahanakhon

Located in less than 5 minutes walk from the Chong Nonsi BTS station. Also there is a Superrich (Green) near by. Hotel room is spacious, clean and tidy. The staffs are kind and helpful. There is a food arcade next to the hotel, with lots of options from thai food to cafe. For more, there are some local eats to explore at the back of the hotel. also good bagel place in 15 mintues walking distance.

The ok is nice but not amazing, location is not great. You get a free access to the rooftop (which is the highest in Bangkok).

We stayed in this hotel 2 years ago which had great experiences. Same as last time , we stayed at deluxe king bedroom. After we checked in and got the room, we have waited 20 mins still doesnt have anyone send us back out suitcase . So i have called to reception to follow up and it took another 10 mins before we actually got the suitcase. The room was good , clean, well prepared a small cake to surprise us as anniversary. Amenities could have extra toilet roll and tissue box as backup. When we called for amenities, it took quite a long time to send to us. Front desk staff wasn’t as friendly as before and we don’t feel the welcome and warmness like last time we had stayed. Even when we check out , the girl was really robotic, and her eye was just focus on her computer screen while saying goodbye to us. Gym was still one of the best gym for hotel fitness facilities. Breakfast menu was pretty much the same, didn’t change at all . It was reasonable . Staff in restaurant also not as friendly as before. There were few new staffs ( i guess )which hard to communicate and not proactive at all. Overall , hotel hardware was good , location was good , but professionalism from the staff needs to improve and maintain.

Amazing. Spacious, well thought design and floor to ceiling windows provide the best views.

This was my second chance of redemption visit to The Standard hotel. The aesthetics and friendly staff here are what made this visit OK! But compared to other 5* hotels in Bkk this is missing some service touches. No welcome drink/room gift, no one by the pool with free water unless you order something from the bar and then they bring water... Makes the experience feel budget star. 4 bottles of comp water in the room is not enough once you use two bottles to make coffee, a preference on coffee capsules would have been nice... I didn't think to request in advance all decaf. There was also no milk to go in the coffee. I didn't want to go through the efforts to request more as I was busy. The hotel music is somewhat better than others but does feel like ai sludge after a day of sitting poolside. The pool felt uncomfortably busy at late afternoon sunset hours. If you want to tick this hotel off your list 1-2 nights is enough, the beds are super comfy, although mine squeaked sometimes, and the linen was top quality, as we're the super fluffy soft bathroom towels -then nicest I've felt in a long time! The nearby soy silom 5 market is a delight but closes by 2pm!
