We only stayed 2 nights at Chakrabongse Villas and Residences but it was a beautiful and intense experience. We stayed in the "Chinese" apartment, suitable for our group of 5 adults, with 2 bedrooms and two bathrooms on two levels, a living room with kitchenette and a terrace overlooking the swimming pool. The apartment is elegantly furnished with fine Chinese antiques. We really appreciated (after a long plane trip) the (almost private...) swimming pool which can be accessed directly from our villa. Chakrabongse is a small structure, very few rooms scattered in a splendid garden and with a breathtaking view of the Chao Phraya river and the iconic Wat Arun temple, the symbolic image of Bangkok. The moments spent on the terraces of Chakrabongse, hypnotized by the frenetic passage of boats on the river, were unforgettable (don't miss the sunset over Wat Arun). The location of the property is perfect for visiting the main tourist attractions of Bangkok: Wat Pho, the Royal Palace, the Flower Market, Chinatown are just a few steps from the Chakrabongse. Breakfast is the small "flaw" of the hotel: there is no buffet and you have to choose the type of breakfast the previous day, everything is a bit "smart"... but the location directly on the river makes us forget a bit this lack. We must thank Atom, a true "landlady", who was generous with advice and assistance during our stay: She organized for us the private tour of the canals and 2 Thai massage sessions inside the structure at a reasonable price, the transfer to the airport and other valuable suggestions...THANK YOU! In conclusion: highly recommended for those who want to live a true "Thai" experience in a very relaxing environment, leaving the chaotic traffic of Bangkok outside the gates.
