Moxy Banff resulted from a 30 million dollar makeover of Banff’s first commercial motor hotel, The Voyager Inn, originally constructed in 1964. Moxy Banff is a bold mid-century design anchored in the centre by Bar Moxy and flanked on both sides by expansive rundle stone walls and unique precast guest wings that float over the parkades. The guest experience starts with a trip back in time as you enter the hotel to check in at Bar Moxy. Lit by an upside-down bear wearing headphones, the check-in experience sets the tone for the fun ahead as every guest receives a complimentary cocktail. The bar evokes a retro ski vibe with its racetrack design and chairlift-inspired liquor baskets.Bar Moxy’s doors open right onto the courtyard, a fun social space perfect for lounging by the fire or taking a dip in the hot pools. Hungry fun seekers will enjoy delicious apre’s and all-day menu from Bar Moxy’s fully restored ‘66 VW food truck.Show More

Great place. Eclectic. Fun and well appointed in modern flare. We used it as home base for some hiking and it just felt great to come back to. The beds are hard and may not be to everyones liking and it doesn't have room service. But the staff was excellent and we will be back.

Nice new Marriott in Banff. The hotel is a bit funky - My wife says Eclectic. It is new and the beds are awesome ( if you like firm). Hotel is on outskirts of Banff but there is easy bus service. The Bar, snack and pool area are an added value. the service was exceptional - just like a real Marriott. I would recommend but make sure to check out rooms first - not for everyone.

A colorful and fun hotel. Location is a bit far from the core downtown area. A good 15 minutes walk(20 minutes if you walk slow). Room is not large but adequate. No closet but a lot of hooks on the wall for hanging so no closet is not a problem. Space to store suitcases under the beds, which is a very good idea. No restaurant Can buy breakfast from a VW van in the lobby This is not a hotel for 60+. They wont like the color scheme, the design, the layout.... but is it a nice hotel

First off, thank you for opening a Marriott in the town of Banff. While we were a little apprehensive about staying at a Moxy, as it was our first encounter with a Moxy and we are older travelers, we must say the Moxy/staff met all our expectations for providing a first class stay. First off the check in process was flawless and the person checking us in (I believe his name was Parson/or Paris) couldn't have been nicer and provided a lot of invaluable information pertaining to the Moxy and Banff. Our rooms were spacious, with comfortable beds, spacious bathroom, high definition television, excellent coffee and enjoyable ski montif. We have status with the Marriott, so we were fortunate to have vouchers that we could apply to breakfast or other items. We chose to use the vouchers for breakfast, which we found to be delicious and cooked in a timely fashion/according to our particular tastes, by a great group of chefs. In particular my wife really liked the avocado toast and I liked the two eggs, any style, with potatoes, sour dough toast and bacon. There coffee was available by 6:30 each morning and it tasted great/was a very popular item and was refilled in a timely fashion. The lobby area was comfortable, interesting and a great place to have a glass of wine. The hotel also provided two drink vouchers, which was greatly appreciated. The manager of the Moxy was extremely friendly, professional and helpful. The cleaning crew was also very friendly, professional and did a great job cleaning the rooms in a timely fashion. I really appreciated the "stash" room whereby one could pick up necessary supplies, such as toilet paper or toothpaste. A possible downside of the hotel was it was located on the outskirt of the town/almost a mile walk into the heart of the town. On the plus side, this may have been a good thing as it provided a quieter environment. There was also a public bus service, Roam Public Transit, that ran approximately every 20 minutes to/from downtown and the hotel was generous in providing bus passes. The Roam #1 will also take passengers to the popular Banff Gondola - limited public parking. We didn't get an opportunity to utilize the pool area but it appeared the people whom did really enjoyed themselves. The hotel also made bikes available for rent. Another possible downside was the size of the hotel parking slots. As a number of people drove large SUVs or pickup trucks, parking in slots next to them was at times challenging. Overall, we found the Moxy to be a excellent hotel and would not hesitate to stay here again if we are fortunate enough to visit Banff. For those thinking about a visit to Banff, it was a truly spectacular place, perhaps the most concentrated scenic beauty that I have ever experienced and definitely worth a visit. Thank you Marriott/staff for doing such a good job.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The bar at reception was a lot of fun. The cocktails were amazing value. The little restaurant was quirky. The outside area we didn't really explore but that looked fun too! I liked the layout of the room. It was modern and clean. But - and there is a but - the bathroom set up is peculiar! Due to the clear glass, there is no privacy. It meant that my friend and myself barely spent any time showering or going to the loo as didn't want to be on show. I imagine they save a fortune on water bills but for the money being paid, it is bad value for the guest. So we had to switch off the lights in the bathroom to do anything. And that is not normal! I was perplexed. What the designers were thinking. So odd! There is no world where friends readily opt to go to the loo in front of each other. Who is the target market here? I am still scratching my head. Not even long-time married couples would opt for this. I can't think of anything worse. When I mentioned it at reception on checking-out I got a bit of word salad about the design being in keeping with the hotel ethos blah blah blah. Hilarious. What nonsense! Clearly, I am not the only one as they said the hotel is doing something about it. Good! Utterly ridiculous. But, aside from that, the hotel is fun, the decor is witty and it's in a good location.

The Moxy provided us a great stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very nice (a little dark but that was not a problem). We ordered breakfast and dinner and both were very good. The hot tub was excellent, didn't use the pool-both had just been repaired. We are Marriott people and this was our first stay in a Moxy. Not like any of their other properties and we loved it. The design of the hotel is modern/contemporary-chic. Everything about the lobby area is tastefully done and the rooms have a unique design-which we liked very much.

This is a new hotel opened in April 2024. We love the Moxy brand and were excited to stay here on the site of the historic Voyager Inn. I am Ambassador Elite status and got a great upgrade to a large corner room. Just so much space ! I meet the hotel manager (Sudeep) and he sent a love gift of flower to our room for my wife with a 2025 Rockies Calendar for myself. The other staff were all great and everyone had a "yes I can sort that attitude". Alex on the bar was really excellent and totally committed to the Moxy brand. The location is a small walk to the centre of Banff (say 15min) but multiple restaurants and bars are on-route. Closest is <3min away. If you are a loyal Marriott travelling and you have never tried a Moxy then give it a try? A big thanks to the whole Banff Moxy team for a great stay

On recommande Moxy chaleureusement.
