The hotel staff are very hospitable and warm. The environment is beautiful and integrated with nature. It's just that the transportation in and out of the city is not convenient. It takes more than 2 hours to get to the hotel from the city. If you want to take a vacation and live slowly, this is a very good place. It is not recommended to go there on a rainy day. Since the hotel is on the top of a mountain, it is very dangerous to drive on a rainy day. The fog is so thick that you cannot see the front.

I was bike-packing through the mountains when it started to get dark so I decided to find a place to sleep and this popped up. The owner is such a lovely person and has such a kind and warm nature. She took me in like a mother. It was simple but it was exactly what I needed and was comfortable.

We're still basking in the warmth of our exceptional experience at Munduk Tentrem, even a week after leaving Bali. This intimate resort, with only 8 rooms, truly shines with its attentive and enthusiastic staff. Every visit to the One Eighty Panorama restaurant was met with a warm welcome from the eagle-eyed team, particularly Ari and Nana, who always greeted us with bright smiles and engaging conversations, making our meals feel like home. But what truly stole our hearts was the breathtaking mountain vista. We witnessed the mesmerizing dance of mist, clouds, and sunshine, with the weather changing dramatically before our eyes. One moment, clear skies; the next, cloudy; then misty, drizzly, and sunny again – all in a single day! Munduk Tentrem's harmonious blend of pleasant staff, stunning views, and delightfully cool weather makes it the perfect haven to unwind. Our stay at Munduk Tentrem was a serene and perfect culmination to our two weeks Bali getaway. We can't wait to return and relive the magic.

We loved the setting and location of the hotel, the view from the pool is just incredible - beautiful sunsets. Fantastic that one of the pools was heated, this made a big difference during the cooler afternoons. The rooms were also beautiful, all done in wood, rustic but luxurious at the same time. The staff were also all amazing, very helpful and nothing at all was too much trouble, they organised everything for us. Only reason we gave a rating of four and not five was because we felt there was not enough variety of options available at breakfast. It is a small hotel and they asked us to give our breakfast orders the night before. Not a big problem but I think a buffet is nicer, especially for kids who can then choose and eat whatever and as much as they want. But we still had an amazing time at the hotel - again, the staff are really amazing. Thank you!

I really cant speak highly enough of Munduk Cabins. The comfort of the rooms, the service, the views.....its outstanding. The small touches such as playing my favourite music in the room when we checked in was a first for me. The food is excellent and enjoying the fire pit in the evening under the stars felt magical. It can be challenging in Bali to find good service but the staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was incredible. I would like to express extra thanks to Puspa and Hendra who spent extra time and effort in locating a space for my friend and I to enjoy a small workshop during our stay. Thank you for another wonderful stay Munduk Cabins!!!!

For a relaxing, romantic stay in Bali away from the tourist hot spots, the Sanak Retreat is the ideal place to stay. It is really exceptionally nice located in the middle of the rice terraces and the few bungalows blend harmoniously into the landscape. We felt right at home. The food is ok and not too expensive. The location invites to hiking and biking. The only downside to our stay was that we were there at the time of the rice harvest and the farmers in the immediate vicinity of the hotel burned the rice palm after the harvest. This has unfortunately stunk terrible and fouled entire stretches of land for days. Those who are sensitive to bad air should try to avoid the time of the rice harvest.

With many levels, the layout is unclear, but the reception and restaurants are on the east side near Jalan Katu Putih Road. The noise from this road can be easily heard throughout the resort. This resort caters mainly to tour groups. Balinese dancing is performed every evening. Massage is available. In September 2023, walking among the beautiful green rice fields from the reception to our villa 41 was a delight. The room looks very authentic with beautiful carvings. The view from the veranda is west-facing, but the sunset is obscured by trees. The sunset bar (not an original name) came to the rescue, but clouds again obscured the sunset. The room has a double bed with mosquito net and mosquito coil. No air conditioning on this 800-metre hilltop. The shower was hot. Continental and Indonesian breakfast is served in the restaurant. Most guests have lunch and dinner at the resort. Puri Lumbuk Cottages offers a local stay. Recommended.
