Hotels in Nusa Penida, Bali

We came to Maua after our previous hotel cancelled within 24 hours of our arrival so trip.com organised a replacement. We hadn't looked at Penida but glad we ended up there as it was easier to visit the main island sights. Firstly, the location has stunning volcano and sunset views. They were incredible. The location as far as everything else goes however is only good if you do not need immediate access to a beach, bars, restaurants etc. There are a couple of homestay type restaurants within a 10 minute walk through what can only be described as a dirt track with many large, deep pot holes and puddles so get your hiking boots ready if you want to venture out. Everything else will need a taxi and they're expensive here. If you are happy to stay, eat and drink at the resort apart from day trips, the location is ideal. The staff were excellent. Linda gave us a very efficient and helpful check-in. The restaurant was quite slow but Ayu really looked after us, making our dining experiences more special along with the other staff. They were always very busy so i can only assume they are understaffed because it wasn't full of guests. The food was very well presented and (apart from the lamb chop which was like an old boot) mostly good quality with a good variety of healthy and regular, tasty food options. The breakfast has so many options, it was really very good. The Spa was good value and we had a very relaxing 150m treatment. 20 minute taxi ride from the harbour started at 250k. We negotiated the driver to 100k. Still more expensive than Thailand. The price of food here is quite steep and they add 21% service/VAT which is more than what you pay on Bali island. If you take a cab (or walk if feeling adventerous) to Crystal Beach, they have great food/drink options at reasonable prices. They have a no drone policy which is great, but be aware if they have wedding guests, you may have a drone flying over your 'private' pool/garden for a few hours which was very unsettling. After speaking to the manager, all was resolved quickly. We hired a taxi driver to take us to all of the east and west island sights, price 900k for the whole day (start 10am, arrive back around 6.30pm). All in all, this hotel is stunning and the rooms are great. The staff are simply excellent and we had a great experience on Penida. Thank you to the Maua staff for making the hotel a great place to stay.

The hotel is located on a mountain, it is difficult to go up and down on foot, we took bikes. The view is beautiful, a nice warm pool. Breakfasts are available from the menu, the choice is not large. Water is provided for free only on the day of check-in, then you either have to buy it or fill it from the cooler in your own bottle (the water in the cooler turned out to be sandy). The room is generally clean. Our front door broke, but at the first request it was fixed. The hotel is located on the main road, there are many restaurants and beautiful places, the port is a 20-minute drive away. We recommend it.

This place is located closer to Banjar Nyuh Harbor which makes travel to/from harbor easy. However there are very few restaurants nearby. The hotel itself is good quite place, but dont expect much. There are no cupboards or safe to store clothes, valuables, Cash. Breakfast was a joke as they gave very limited quantity of just 1 choice out of 3/4 options. Overall below average.

We had an incredible stay at Arsa Hotel in Nusa Penida, Bali. The moment we walked into the hotel, we were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff. The hotel had a beautiful and serene ambiance that made us feel instantly relaxed and at home. The rooms were spacious, well-decorated, and had all the necessary amenities. The highlight was the stunning pool area from our balcony. The pool is perfect for a refreshing dip after a day of exploring the island. Not only did Arsa Hotel provide excellent accommodation, but their customer service was also top-notch. The staff was always eager to assist us with anything we needed and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. The hotel’s restaurant offered a delicious array of local and international cuisine, and we were particularly impressed with the breakfast. The hotel also organised various excursions and guided tours, allowing guests to explore the natural beauty and cultural richness of Nusa Penida. Overall, our stay at Arsa Hotel was truly unforgettable, and we cannot wait to visit again in the future.

The room is clean, spacious and well-equipped. The hotel is built on a mountain and is very quiet, suitable for a holiday. The driver Wayan arranged by the hotel is very nice, has great English, smooth communication, thoughtful service, and first-class driving skills. He took us to the East and West attractions of Bunida Island. He is both a driver and a tour guide, and he also helped us take pictures. When we stopped at the attractions, he waited for us patiently and took us to a seaside restaurant with a beautiful environment and chic and delicious food, where we enjoyed the food while listening to beautiful music. 2 days of East and West attractions, plus 2 hours of 3 snorkeling spots, saw manta rays, beautiful and colorful fish, beautiful corals and turtles, and the staff of the snorkeling company also helped us take pictures and videos. We were lucky to meet dolphins. We went directly to the hotel manager to arrange the 2-day tour itinerary. We are very satisfied with the 2-day itinerary arrangement. It's great! It's much better than finding a tour group. There is plenty of time to play, and Wayan's driver has a good service attitude. It is highly recommended to find the hotel manager to arrange the tour itinerary. It takes 2 days to visit the east and west lines of Bunida Island, plus snorkeling. Everything was fine, the service staff was good in every way, but there is one issue. If you stay at this place, just understand that you can only stay in the hotel and can't go anywhere outside, like for sightseeing or renting a bike. The second thing is when you check out, a tax list will appear with charges for taxi tax, room service tax (even though you already pay a 20% tax when you order food, etc.), but they charge you again. No matter what you take, you'll see taxes everywhere. My bill was 4 million IDR, and you can assume that 1 million IDR was just taxes . Well, overall, the location is great, the hotel is nice and amazing, and the staff is good. I am giving this review about the taxes so that the owner can make some changes and others don't have to face the same issue.

The hotel is 16 kilometers away from the pier. You can take a taxi after getting off the boat. The price is 250k, and the journey takes 40 minutes. There are deserted villages around the hotel. You need to bring something with you, otherwise you have to eat and drink at the hotel. The price is a little expensive, mainly It is not suitable for the taste buds of Chinese people. The hotel is in the mountains. If you are afraid of mosquitoes, do not book. The hotel can charter a car for 550K within 2 hours, and 700K within 5 hours. Minutes to Lembongan.

An okay hotel if you need to stay for a couple of nights. Breakfast is a bit small, but that's the case all over the island. Among the significant disadvantages: there is no cleaning in the room; during all 4 days of my stay, they were never cleaned or offered. Salt water in the shower, very salty. There is no mirror in the bathroom. Pros: Soft, excellent bed. There is a workplace. Good internet.

Id genuinely recommend everyone to come to this hotel if you ever visit Penida! My pictures not as good because I didn’t turn the lights on. But the hotel is amazing, clean and cozy. Have to mention that the service and staff here are above average, the best I’ve seen so far, I had some visa problems and the receptionist helped me so much throughout the process!
