I simply can not express how much we enjoyed our time at Villa Patria! We came for a night as strangers at the last minute looking for a pet friendly hotel for us and our two dogs, but having never heard of the place before. We left after three nights feeling fully refreshed after being treated like honored family guests. We are absolutely committed to come back again as soon as possibly we can and simply cant recommend this place hoghly enough. Villa Patria's location is amazing with stunning views across the whole of the Lovina Bay. High enough to be cool and refreshing, yet close enough for a quick run into town for dinner. The villas sit within a few hectres of lush terraced tropical gardens that are beautifully landscaped and immaculately maintained. Set at the bottom of the garden is a beautiful infinity pool which is an absolute delight and large enough for laps or just lounging around. The two villas are both extremely well built, initially designed as a large two bedroom private house with a one bedroom guest house. Both buildings are beautifully furnished and decorated with care and attention to every last detail. We rented the smaller one bedroom villa which was perfect for the two of us and our dogs on this short trip. The villa had a very large comfortable bed, and lovely out door bathroom, with a small but functional kitchen and extensive outdoor living area/ verandah. Although the small villa was more than enough for us on this trip we would definitely rent the larger main house if we returned with friends, as it is significantly larger with two large bedrooms with seperate bathrooms, huge living areas and wide verandahs overlooking the pool and gardens. Breakfast was generous, well presented and delicious as were the other meals that we ordered. The menu is quite extensive including both indonesian and international food. All ingredients are bought on the day and prepared from scratch, so you need to order in advance, but this means the food is always super fresh and delicious. The skilled cooks have worked there for years and are open to cook almost anything. We ordered and mixed fresh grilled seafood BBQ with the catch of the day, which turned out to be white fish, large calamari and huge delicious fresh prawns. In fact it felt a shame to leave and eat elsewhere. The most outstanding thing of all qbout Villa Patria though is the staff!!! The owners should consider themselves extremely lucky to have such an amazing team. As someone who has worked in hospitality for years, I know how hard it is to find, train and retain a team of this quality. Special thanks to Oka, Wayang and the rest of the team for making our stay so incredibly special. I cant believe how lucky we were to find this place and I wait to come back. This was honestly the best place I have ever stayed in Bali after 30yrs of coming and going, which has included stays in many of the big name luxury establishments as well as in smaller hidden gems. Thanks so m
