Visitors from Canada, my wife and I recently (late August 2024) spent four nights at Das Sieben - and then still added on an extra night on site taking advantage of a summer special they were running. To jump straight to the summary - we had a magnificent time, that completely exceeded our expectations. For all not familiar with the concept of the Wellness Hotel, these are hotels dedicated to physical activity (indoor and outdoor), various sauna and spa activities, amazing food, and a getaway from the busy life at home with locations usually situated in quiet remote areas of the stunning Alpine Mountains - in short they cater towards your wellbeing. Das Sieben is located in the small Austrian town of Bad Häring right on the border to Germany. World famous companies like Riedel (wine glasses) and Swarovski are in the neighbouring towns and internationally renowned ski resorts like Der Wilde Kaiser just minutes away. The area is known for endless hiking, running, and biking as well as for leisurely walking in stunning scenery. Das Sieben is an adults only (16 and up) hotel that offers various packages you can book with the original reservation. We chose the base stay with half board (breakfast buffet and 5-course dinner) in a junior suite. The room was very spacious, incredibly light with floor to ceiling windows leading to a private balcony, and a mix in between cozy and modern incorporating lots of wood with all necessary modern amenities (desk, flat screen TV, closets, etc). A signature element of every Wellness Hotel is the Sauna, Spa, and Fitness area. Das Sieben has multiple different saunas indoors and outdoors, steam baths, and an indoor and an outdoor pool. The entire first floor of the hotel is dedicated to the fitness and spa areas. The fitness studio is completely equipped with modern Technogym machines and can rival a studio. The spa treatments can be booked on site or beforehand. I had a pedicure, which was done in a most professional manner. I learned from the therapist that she went to school for three years to get the training for medical pedicure and beautician. They also have physicians on site to perform gait analyses or develop diet or workout plans. Das Sieben has built all (?) guest rooms to have views and a private balcony. Water is instantly hot and the internet very fast. They offer a "pillow menu" from which you can order a pillow specifically based on what type of sleeper you are. We stayed in a Junior Suite, which was very spacious, had a king size bed (with split mattresses), a desk, a couch, separated shower/vanity from the toilet, and lots of chairs. For the hot times in the year, please North Americans be aware that Das Sieben has no air conditioning. This is in line with the town and all neighbouring communities being part of the environmental alliance and generally with hotels in the German speaking areas, but still left us hot every night with daily temperatures exceeding or around 30 Celsius. An interesting spec
