Syntagma Square
Unexpectedly good! It is the most satisfying one of the whole journey. The location is good. It is only five minutes away from the Constitution Square subway station (walking); the facilities are good, the room is not big, although the various equipment styles are old, but the function is excellent, there is no leaking, biasing problem, use very handy; The best thing is that there is a Haier drum washing machine, which washes all the dirty clothes I accumulated along the way, and also comes with two laundry beads. I have washed it twice for two days and I must like it! Your own simple cuisine is also OK, there is a basic kitchen equipment!

Koukaki
The hotel was very clean and the staff were kind. Overall, I think it was a very good deal considering the price we paid. You are just the shortest of walks from the Acropolis Museum and Acropoli metro station. There restaurants steps away, and you can quickly get to the main areas of the Plaka neighborhood within minutes. If you are only in Athens a day or two, truly this location maximizes your visit. Everything was very clean and the bed was quite comfortable. They have Netflix and Prime on the TV, but we didn’t use it. They use a code system to get into the building and the rooms which I thought was really convenient. I will say that the shower did not drain well, and there was a drain in the bathroom floor that smelled pretty moldy. Also, there is a “welcome” letter which is really a series of warnings about what you shouldn’t do. I posted a picture as it was a little off-putting. I kept feeling paranoid that I might accidentally get something on a towel and get charged 50EU for it (and I assure you those towels were not 50EU). We were a little worried about the noise as we could hear quite a bit during the day, but at night the street is deserted so we slept soundly. The front desk manager was very helpful, and when our booked car did not show up to take us to the airport, she walked down the street with us to make sure we got a cab. I thought that was definitely going above and beyond. Again, it is a great place particularly for the price.

Omonia
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Klepsydra Suites. We had booked two rooms - one for my husband and my son (11 years old) and one for my daughter (14 years old) and myself. The hotel is very centrally located in walking distance to almost everything - Monastiraki is a five minute walk away. The rooms are renovated, fresh and clean. The beds are very comfortable. The bathrooms are modern and clean. One of our rooms had a little kitchen and a seating/lounging area. Coffee and tea making facilities are provided. Drinks in the room bar fridge are reasonably priced, a welcome surprise. Our rooms were facing to the back, looking at another building wall. This made the rooms quite dark with little daylight, but also very quiet. Outside of the hotel is a little kiosk that sells almost everything. There are also plenty of restaurants and bars just outside. The reception staff are friendly and most helpful. We had to ask several times for extra towels, soaps and shampoos, which were always promptly provided. The elevator goes from the mezzanine floor to floor 4. So it's good to know that for floors 5 and 6 and up to the mezzanine you have to carry the suitcases.

The bathroom towels are very stiff and unpleasant. The shower hose is too short and able to hang it . The breakfast was very good. The lobby is very fancy. The staff helpful . The room is ok but not sound proof, I could hear the guests in the adjacent room quit load all night. Location is OK but off center.
Ergon House Athens
4.6/5105 Reviews
This boutique hotel is just above a decent size food market which also includes a restaurant serving excellent Greek cuisine, all are under same company, Ergon House ( vacation house in Greek). Their free breakfast has so much variety ( and tasty too), which is comparable to 4 star hotels in Asia. Their staff are top notch, everyone we have interacted are very friendly and helpful, which are a rare thing nowadays at the US hotels. As other travelers has mentioned, this hotel located in an excellent location, major attractions such as Acropolis and Metro station are all within walking distance, many shops and restaurants are just outside the hotel. A pharmacy is next door too. We love the hotel restaurant so much, did not bother to try the others nearby. We also buy some Greek chocolates in the hotel store to take back home. I booked this hotel last minute when we were at Athens airport. They have updated our room to medium size when we checked in, which is a good surprise. The room is quite spacious for two people, beautiful contemporary design and we also have a regular bed which sat on the floor, not a platform. The only suggestions I have to the hotel is to add another chair in the room, and a simple bath towel rack in the bathroom which will not only save the bench space for sitting or opening luggage , but also prevents unnecessary waste from changing and washing bath towels every day. Because of the isolation door ( which could be opened by your room key) and location, our room was very quiet for the first three nights. During our last night in that room, we could hear noise from people staying above our floor, but it did not bother us so much. Overall, a great place to stay in the heart of Athens. We will return if we visit Greece again.
