This hotel is expensive but it’s on the water, we found listening to the sea lions a treat bring binoculars, plus you can walk to the Goonies house across the street on the hill. 5pm midweek one night stay, 2nd floor King Riverview Balcony room #226 so no need for elevators, the pictures on Hilton website are misleading as our room did not have sofa. The TV is odd as its mounted to the furniture so you cannot turn it enough to watch in bed and room was small, agree with other TA reviews hotel needs a refresh. The bright spot is balcony was great breakfast was better than the usual Hampton fare and parking is plentiful and free. Go see Goonies house after breakfast and you will get good photos and no people. Had dinner at Gino’s across street food is good and they are nice. Stopped at Gaetano’s Deli for sandwiches on our way out of town for next adventure.

We had a king bed room with a spa tub and it was wonderful. The room was very roomy. The only complaint I would have is that the shower head was not very good. The complementary hot breakfast is a huge plus because eating out is expensive! We were looking forward to riding the trolly along the Colombia River but it only runs from 1-4 and not on Wednesday- which was the day we could have done this!

We have stayed here in the past and have enjoyed it however in the morning we woke up to Ants in our bed. The room had a slight smell to it but after a day of driving we paid no attention to it and felt the room was clean. After waking up to my husband flipping the covers off and announcing that there were ants crawling on the sheets I could not get ready and out of there fast enough. When we went down to the front desk to check out my husband asked for the manager and a young gentleman stated he was the manager. My husband told him about the problem and he said he would adjust our bill. I was outside at the time and going back into the hotel my husband stated the manager would let me know the price reduction. All of a sudden the young man told me that he was not the manager and would talk to him and send our final bill to me via email. NO price reduction at all was given.....I was lied to and treated with no regard. I have always liked the Hilton Hotels because you know what to expect but not this time. Shame on you Hilton

Location is very close to downtown, which is good. It’s also on the river with the sweet sound of sea lions. The negative is the room we were in is worn and dated. Although it was nice and large, some furniture is completely worn out and should be tossed. Same with the carpet. In addition, it wasn’t cleaned well. Not sure what Hilton is doing by not having many of their properties remodeled and cleaned better. I’m a Diamond member and I’m starting to reconsider my commitment to Hilton. They really need to spend money improving their properties.

The only reason I will give the two stars is because the actual location of this hotel is nice, the only reason I have ever stayed. Unfortunately the majority of the staff, with exception of a single employee named Ernesto who “tried” to be polite, are rude, and make it clear they don’t care if you’re a long-standing Hilton Diamond Member or other. It’s the only Hilton brand hotel I’ve ever stayed at where they flat out tell you they charge members for upgrades, which is completely opposite of how the benefits for the Diamond members are spelled out and honored at every other Hilton hotel. In addition, there is a terrible eyesore of a giant orange piece of construction equipment parked directly in front of the water side patio of the hotel, killing the view and any chance at a relaxing feeling. The rooms are beat up, the furniture had bad visible wear and tear, the bathroom walls had stains and visible damage left open and the key cards did not work on all doors. It’s way overpriced for what you get. The biggest insult is that I wrote a complaint to the manager about my stay and didn’t receive a response or even an acknowledgment. So unfortunate, the place could be really nice if it were run by better people.

We were visiting Astoria, and stayed at this hotel because it was in a good location. Other than that, it was not worth $300 a night. The bed was uncomfortable. The toilet didn't flush, so we needed to use the bathroom in the lobby. When we asked the person at the desk for a plunger, he looked at us like he didn't understand what we were talking about. We never did get one. The men at the desk were not hospitable or friendly and barely communicated. Upon leaving, we asked to speak to the manager. We were told that the manager was not there, but he/she would call us back. We never received a call back from the manager. We will definitely not stay at this hotel again and probably not stay at another Hampton Inn.

Very nice hotel. The view from our room was great. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony looking at the bay. The room was large and clean and comfortable although the door to the closet was broken. The breakfast was fine. Overall, a good experience.

This was our first visit to this particular Hampton. It's an impressive place located right on the water, just off the "main drag". A river walkway is just steps out the back door. Our (river view) room was nice, clean, and quiet. I couldn't get the TV to work in the evening, but it did in the morning. The shower pressure was good. Breakfast was average. There was a sign that said 'Bakery Item of the Day' but the space was empty. I asked about it, and was told they didn't have that right now. As you might imagine, this was the highest-priced hotel on our trip (tourist town), so I'm glad we had a nice stay.

This hotel is perfectly placed on the river with quick access to the riverwalk, but you'll need to ask for a map if you want to walk into town. If you want a riverfacing room you'll need to be sure to book a room 'w/a view' which we didn't even notice but were only going to be there 1 night. Our room looked a little tired with a worn ottoman and sagging bed. Okay for one night but I think Hampton needs to step it up as the Best Western Plus we stayed at in Newport was in better shape.
