Motel 6 Ashland, VA

We stopped here on our way north, and it will certainly be the last time. The 1st room they gave us smelled bad, beds looked like someone had been lying in them, and there was no toilet paper, no towels, no soap, no nothing. I returned to the front desk and they gave me a different room. This one was better, but it wasn't that clean still, the door didn't lock except for the security bar, there were small holes in the wall in lots of places and the tub stopper was broken. The microwave worked, but the refrigerator wasn't very cool on max...it needed defrosting. They said they were booked, but I saw many, many unopened rooms, and the parking lot was far from full. There were many shady people hanging around the parking lot loitering and drinking beer. I did not feel very safe. Motel 6 is usually better than this. The price was higher than the online price. They said that it was the single rate and not the rate for 2 people. Won't be back.

I'm afraid I'm not going to be so positive on this one. It was OK, nothing major was wrong, but it's not a very clean property. I guess the first disappointment wasn't really their fault. I would have liked to use have used the pool, but was told the paper work for it wasn't finished yet, so I couldn't swim. The room looked cute and modern when you first opened the door. But when you looked closer, it could have been much cleaner. There was even some wrapers of some sort left behind the bathroom door. The shower functioned ok, but we had to ask for shampoo. The TV didn't function properly. When I turned it on in the morning, it blasted a loud channel and I couldn't mute it or turn it off. Sorry, neighbors. I eventually was able to turn it off by a button on the tv its self. On the bright side, the staff seemed nice enough, and I liked that it had hard floors (not carpet) in the room. So, nothing that will hurt you, but if you want just a little luxury, try one of the neighboring hotels.

We were in the area to spend time with family. The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. We would stay here again when we are in the area. We also liked that it was quiet and didn't hear any noise coming from other guests.

This was the 4th time I have stayed here. Room was clean. TV, bath, AC, pool, all fine. Refurbished rooms. For a quick stay, just fine for the $. Plan on staying again next time in area. Friendly staff. Near gas, food, and about a mile from downtown and train station.

Definitely would not suggest going back. Once we walked in got an over powering smell of urine, also looked like there was blood and holes on and in the walls and roaches crawling on the ceiling. The smell of urine would not go away honestly was very nasty.

Terrible place. Lobby locked at night. Opens at 6am. Coffee available at 6 am, not 5.55 am. Room cold. I set heater at 74 but it kept going back to 67. Just a sheet and very light spread on bed. Blanket on very high shelf. I couldn't reach it so was cold all night. Fridge not working. I couldn't get water hot enough to take a shower. Just lukewarm. Also I was in a room with connecting door to another room. I travel solo so it was nerve wracking. Person in the other room tried the door which was locked but made me nervous. Doesn't take AAA either. When leaving the next day I saw a cockroach. Never again.

This was the most disgusting motel I've ever seen in my life. It looks like something that ******* would rent out by the hour. At 2 am my husband,children and I couldn't drive anymore and decided to try to find a room close to the highway. Tired and ready to go to sleep we paid for the room and we're absolutely disgusted upon entering. The bedding was visibly stained the floors were covered with dirt and outlets were hanging out of the walls. Exhausted and ready for bed we considered just sleeping on top of a towel for a few hours only to find the towels were also soiled and covered in someone else's hair. The health department should shut this property down. Luckily the women at the front desk gave me a refund. There was no way I could spend the night in that room.

Room was clean, bed comfortable, ac fine, had refrig and microwave. not the Ritz but for the money, will stay again. Good location for food and gas. Waffle house next door. Less than a mile from downtown and right us 1 and 95. Friendly service with 24 hr desk.

I read all the horrible reviews but since I was spending one night, I thought I'd take a chance. I have stayed in many low budget motels and have been in horrible rooms. I was pleasantly surprised. The room was big, no carpet but fake wood flooring, the room was clean, the bathroom was clean, the shower worked well, and the TV was fine. No mold and no bugs. The AC and heat until was fine. When I was checking out, I mentioned to the clerk of all the horrible reviews and he said my room (114) was renovated....so maybe ask for a renovated room.
