Nisqually Lodge

We stayed at Nisqually Lodge as a base for visiting Mount Rainier National Park, and its location is hard to beat. It’s just a few minutes from the park entrance, making it perfect for an early start to beat the crowds. The lodge is a little different from the larger chain hotels we’ve stayed in. It’s small, quaint and has a cosy feel to it. We stayed on the first floor and, as far as we could tell, there isn’t a lift—just a central staircase. If you’re travelling with heavy luggage, be prepared to carry it upstairs. There’s nothing luxurious about the lodge, but there’s also nothing to complain about. It’s clean, comfortable, and offers exactly what you need if you’re planning to spend your days exploring the national park rather than sitting in a hotel room. Overall, it’s cheap and cheerful, in a fantastic location, and we’d happily stay here again for another visit to Mount Rainier.

Great little hotel about 10 min from Mt. Rainier entrance. We had the family cabin with 4 beds and a bath and small kitchen. Plenty of room and good AC. Nice large TV and fireplace and decent internet (cell service is spotty here). Very friendly staff.

Room was nice but the lady working Friday night was mean and told me to f- off after asking me for money for gas I won't come back

Nisqually Lodge is perfectly located for easy access to the Nisqually entrance at Mt Rainier National Park (MRNP). Luckily we decided to stay here, as all other entrances to MRNP were closed in late April, when we visited. Snow chains must be carried until 1 May, we rented some for 24 hours from Whittaker Mountaineering in Ashford, to comply. They were very friendly, and they have a drop box, for returns, out of hours. We pre-booked online, a few days before our visit. We booked a King deluxe room, and it was spacious, was on the upper level, and we had views out over greenery. There were often a few deer to watch, from our room. Car parking was plentiful, and free. The bathroom had a shower over the bath, and there was a fridge but no freezer in the room. There was also a Keurig coffee maker. There is also a coffee and tea station on the ground floor, as well as an ice machine. Snacks and cold drinks can also be bought on-site. Michaela, on the front desk was so friendly, and helpful. She assisted me with change for the on-site laundry. The machines were efficient, and quick. It only took about 40 minutes each for a wash and dry. We enjoyed lunch at the nearby Copper Creek Inn restaurant. This had a cosy atmosphere, and very efficient and friendly staff. The food was delicious! Whilst in Ashford we drove the scenic Skate Creek road to Packwood, this follows the river, and was a lovely drive. We recommend visiting Packwood Brewing Company for excellent beer, great service, and delicious food. All in all, a great stay, and we would happily recommend to others.

Their website said there was HOT breakfast but there was NO breakfast at all. The ONLY reason I booked a room at $400+ for one room with ONE bathroom for SIX people is because I thought there was breakfast and I would not have to pay that extra expense out of pocket. If you do not pffer breakfast you really need to update your website because you definitely "catfished" us.

Great place right outside Mt. Rainier National Park. Very friendly staff; big, clean rooms; super convenient. Our family of six had two rooms and we were very comfortable and pleased with our stay.
