The Hiltons would be mortified by this hotel! I booked this hotel based on the 4.5 review, but it should be -1. I wasn’t expecting a 5 star stay AND we are definitely NOT hotel snobs. Let’s get into it… 1. As we were walking to the elevators after check in, we were informed that the elevators were broken and they would try to have them fixed by the next day. Thank goodness we are able bodied so we could take the stairs. (Note: We were there 2 nights, 3 days and was able to take the elevator ONCE.) We were never offered a first floor room, an apology, or even a complimentary BOTTLE OF WATER for our troubles. (We already knew the “continental” breakfast wasn’t included in the stay.) 2. Upon entering the room, we quickly noticed there were no toiletries in the bathroom. We bring our own shampoos/shower gels, but there wasn’t even a bar of soap for hand washing. NOTHING. 3. The carpets/floors throughout the hotel and Hotel entrance are utterly DISGUSTING. I’m not sure they’ve ever been cleaned. 4. We are not rude/disrespectful people and had not been the entire time we were there…but when asked how our stay was when checking out, we replied that it was “Ok.” She said, “JUST OK???” My husband said, “Yes. Just ok.” She replied, “Well, ok. Thanks.” Not even a question as to why our stay was lacking even a tinge of excitement. Just a snarky remark. *Other than the sweet girl working over at the lackluster bar, the hotel staff was brutal. The only reason we didn’t turn around and walk out right when we found out that we’d be trekking up/down the stairs for our stay was that we would be at the lake during the days/evenings and would just be at the room to shower and sleep. **The sheets were, in fact, clean and bug free.** TRUST ME, take your $120 a night to another hotel. ANY OTHER HOTEL.
