Attractive hotel in a lovely old building but tastefully modernised. Lift to rooms and well equipped attic suite. Good shower bath less practical as tap intrudes at head end. Fridge in room but not plugged in when we arrived. Good car parking. Restaurant was excellent with imaginative dishes and although the menu fish was unavailable the alternative was extremely good and the wine choices were excellent. A comfortable and good value place to stop before catching UK ferry.

Hola! Es la segunda vez que estmos. Nos gusta mucho, los lugares con historia guardan mucho " sex appeal" La habitación es muy agradable, comoda y limpia. El jamón serrano del desayuno es " top", como el pan y es un detalle que sirvan zumo natural. El personal es encantador, gracias por hacernos la vida más amable. No me gusta como está organizado el hotel; hay rincones a la vista con acumulación de mobiliario tipo Almacén. Debiera cuidarse estos aspectos ya que da mala impresión. En la suite junior, falta mobiliario como una mesa o escritorio. Es una habitación muy grande y cabría perfectamente. Está muy bien la cantidad de enchufes que tiene, que facilita la carga de todos lis dispositivos móvil es. El desayuno es pobre; no hay servicio de cocina Regular calidad precio

I loved staying here! The breakfast and room were superb! It felt like a castle inside and I loved looking out the stone window to the courtyard below. It’s in a remote area but if you walk a little ways down there is a pizzeria and shop with treats and beer. Just a really nice place to land as we walked the Camino de Santiago.

Das Palacio de Arce ist ein Hotel und Restaurant ca. 10 Km entfernt von Santander. Wir haben dort 2x zu Abend gegessen. Der Service im Hotel war sehr freundlich. Das Essen war ausgesprochen lecker - nicht zuviel, aber auch nicht zu wenig. Typisch nicht-deutsch wurde z.B. Fisch serviert mit nur sehr wenigen Beilagen. Dennoch sind wir satt geworden. Der Nachtisch (Schokolade) war unfassbar viel. Wir würden hier jederzeit wieder essen gehen und können das Restaurant sehr empfehlen.

We stayed here on our Camino del Nortes Pluses Nice reception Good sized room and bath Food, though expensive for northern Spain, was of a very high standard Lift so no carrying of cases upstairs Minuses Slightly hard to locate but the pluses more than make up for this. We would stay again if in the area.
