Located in the heart of Amiens, just 54 yards, 50 m from the cathedral, which is a Unesco World Heritage Site, and 15 minutes walk from the train station, the Mercure Amiens hotel is the perfect destination for business or leisure. The historic Saint Le u district, the floating gardens and Jules Vernes house are all just a stone throw from the hotel.

Several years have elapsed (and Covid) since our last visit to the Mercure Cathéderale hotel in Amiens. Apart from being a fantastic hotel in an equally fantastic location, our prime reasons for returning were a) the excellent crêperies, b) the Hortillonnages waterways and c) the Macarons d’Amiens (Jean Trogneux). Being centrally located, one of the very useful features was the proximity of the underground car park in rue des Huchers. We paid €29 for a 7-day ticket which was exceptional value. Reception staff (Célestine, Olga & Adam) were very friendly and helpful on arrival as well as during our four-day stay. The hotel reservation was made directly on the Accor web site (membership benefits) and breakfast was included in the price. Breakfast was a delight - literally was everything you could wish for, and more. Amiens is a beautiful city with lots of “must-see” attractions – we had previously been to the Maison de Jules Verne (excellent) as well as the Hortillonnages, but always good for a return visit. This time we did some prior research regarding the local Amétis bus service and routes with the intention of visiting the tomb of Jules Verne in the Cimetière de la Madeleine as well as the Zoo d'Amiens. Armed with the timetables for each route we traversed the city with ease. Each day we spent just over £5 on bus fares (two persons and two journeys). Both venues were equally impressive. Returning to my own car on departure one has to be aware of the rather strange priorities in town/city centres, such that cars travelling on what would appear to be a side-road have priority over those on the main road (priorité à droite). The image I attached shows the Audi car leaving the underground car park and having priority over the traffic on the main road (rue Flatters). Bit bizarre, but worth being aware of. If you are thinking of visiting Amiens in the Autumn be aware of the impressive son-et-lumière display at the Cathédrale Notre-Dame which is usually around Sept-Nov time. An evening well worth spending in the centre of Amiens.
Take a deep breath. The ibis Styles hotel restaurant is coming to the Amiens train station. The entry to the city shopping district, the ibis team welcomes you. Starting from September 2019, discover the little Venice of the North, its cathedral and all the riches of the Picardian capital. And as we say here, French is the language of my mouth, but Picard is that of my heart.

What can I say? For an Ibis Hotel, it surpasses my expectations! Just wow! Spacious receiving and lounge area. Contemporary art design hotel. Hotel reception, Laure was the who received me, given me an option if I like the first room or not, she would gladly change it since I do not want a courtyard view. Sadly, they do not have room available facing the busy main streets but she gave me one with a view of Notre-Dame! Hugo, we started at the wrong foot wd regards to the AC thing but it was resolved immediately. He provided me with electric fan to cool down the room. In Amiens AC would only work towards Summer time otherwise there is no AC in the room. Room, toilet is huge and so neat to my surprise! Housekeeping staffs were so polite and cleans and make up room and toilet thoroughly. They even volunteer to change my used glasses. How thoughtful is that?! I asked for extra towels and gave it without hesitations!! Location is right across the train station behind the Perret Tower so don’t be fooled by google map and take you all the way around the back. Sevice bottle for water infront of the lift and coffee until 6pm but even after the close time, they will prepare you coffee or tea. Staffs: Laure, Elias, Hugo Kudos to the housekeeping management and staffs. Keep up the good work. Cons: Management should change the photo on their website for the Standard double room showing a balcony but for family room so that we will not presume we are going to have a balcony in that category. More Choices for breakfast. Orange machine breaks and it’s finished even as early as 8 sometimes. Do not refill. There is a stain on the room’s ceiling from maybe water leaking that needs to be addressd but not a bothersome. Highly recommend when in Amiens!

I've been using this hotel since 2005 on and off and its steadily gone downhill and is now quite tired and overdue for a refresh. On my last visit (December 2021) staff were completely disinterested in scanning my French covid app, something that every tabac and restaurant did as a matter of course. For some reason the whole hotel was heated to about 26 degrees and the only way I could sleep was by turning the room thermostat right down and opening the window. At 9.45pm he bar was deserted, unlit and took some time for a member staff to arrive, only for the singel beer on offer to run out. All in all, not a great experience, especially after our stay in the Saint-Omer Ibis which is really welcoming and well run.

The location is very good, right next to the train station. The front desk service is also very good, helping us to pick up hot water every day, and breakfast is also good, but the room is very small, it can be said that it is the smallest room ever, two people can not turn around, and can't put luggage. The cleaning aunt couldn't understand English and had difficulty communicating. For two days, she didn't clean the room at all. Will not book again!

Nice appart hotel with comfortable bed. It was clean and comfortable, with a good size of bed. They had a kettle but it would be nice to have a tea or coffee sachet also, as for two nights we had to buy a whole pack of coffee or tea. Also it was difficult to park at the nearby roads and in general in Amiens. Also it was around 20 minutes walk from the city center.

LOCATION: Ideal. I arrived by train and it was about 5 minutes walk down the same street, nice and flat for the wheelie case. Lots of local sights within easy walking distance including the cathedral (France's largest, twice as big as Notre Dame in Paris), Jules Verne Museum and the incredible Musée de Picardie. APARTMENT: When I entered, I was blown away by the superb views over Amiens including the the cathedral spires from both the sitting room and bedroom windows. The apartment was spacious, clean, quiet and had everything needed. STAFF: Amiable and helpful VALUE: Outstandingly good.

Everything was of excellent quality, the staff's reception, the services the convenience (pizza and beer in front of the world's Cup game in the very pleasant common room)
The only bathroom was a problem with the shower that was screwing all over the bathroom and a ventilation that seemed not to work otherwise all the rest was perfect

Not the easiest to find but worth it.. It is down a one way side street and you need to go the reception to get code for entrance to underground car park. Although room is fairly baisc it has fridge, microwave, plates and cutlery should you wish to eat in. It is convenient for local atttractions such as the cathedral and water gardens. Having underground secure parking is an added bonus. i

We rented a family room (C 202) which was more an apartment with 2 adjacent rooms separated by a door, a kitchen ( coffee /tea facilities;cutlery...).Brand new building. Very clean. Tasteful, modern solid furniture. Spacious bathroom with a large step-in shower. Friendly receptionists. Good breakfast buffet:ample choice ( fruit, egg, charcuterie, cheese, different bread kinds..) Late check out at 12 (instead of 11 am or earlier in other hotels). Not far from Rouen centre. · Less positive: only 1 small wash stand in the bath room (for such a spacious place- regarding it may be used by up to 4 people) and few possibilities to place your toiletries. 1 TV set for both rooms (only French channels). Construction works in the area- so, it can get a little noisy in the morning. A bit difficult to find in this whole new site: after the hotel sign (not immediately visible from the road) directly turn right to the parking lot ( with barrier). It's the white building on your right- follow the winding path to the double glass door.

The only thing disappointing me was that the hotel number provided by Trip.com was incorrect. I nearly missed the checkin time as I couldn’t ring them.

AAnonymous UserGoing out to play with two friends, living in a triple room, the room is relatively small, there is no space except for the bed, if you bring a suitcase, the suitcase may not fit. A double bed and a single bed, the bed of the single bed is placed in the wardrobe. After watching the horror movie at night, it was more thrilling. Overall, it was relatively clean and not far from the train station. But the switch of the appliance was not inserted through the card, but a switch on the bedside, and then it was powered up. There was no instructions. I looked for it for a long time. After asking the staff, I looked for another half day.
GGuest UserThe Grand Hôtel de l'Univers is located on a pedestrian-only street in center of Amiens, very conveniently located a very short walk from the train station. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the bathroom appeared recently-renovated. The rest of our room, and the common areas, however, were a bit more worn, and a little renovation wouldn't go amiss. WiFi was available, free, and it worked well. Our room was not air conditioned, which didn't matter much during our stay (September) but might be uncomfortable in mid-summer. The front desk staff were bilingual, very welcoming, friendly, and went out of their way to help us. Overall, I'd give it a grade of A for location, A+ for the staff, and a B- for the overall condition of the facilities.
DDmitriiStudent dormitory. To the center on foot 30 minutes or 15 minutes by bus. The area seemed to me not very calm. In description the error was respiratory 24 hours a day, if you arrive at night, the documents will be issued only in the morning. The room is large, clean. The plumbing works. The breakfast is in value and very decent (muslies, cruisans, yogurt, oranges, cheese, butter, sausage).
