One wouldn’t immediately think this Parador was in a former convent. It was a cross between Don Quixote and Luis XV. Some furnishings was rustic Spanish while others had a country French feel. Our room was a fair size although the bathroom was small. The walls were partially tiled that added to the atmosphere. The room had a safe and mini bar. There were plenty of courtyards and patios as well as numerous guest lounges. The staff was very personable and helpful. On-site parking was plentiful and free. The Parador is about a five minutes walk from the main plaza in town. My one negative was on our second morning there we ordered eggs for breakfast. After waiting 20 minutes we assumed the waitress forgot to place the order, but by then we had eaten other things and didn’t bother to reorder. The bad part was there were only two other couple eating breakfast at that time.

Bonito hotel este Parador de Almagro, instalado en un antiguo convento. Las habitaciones son antiguas pero muy bien adaptadas. El hotel en sí es un museo pues está lleno de obras de arte cuadros, muebles, cerámica, etc., antiguos. El personal es muy atento tanto en recepción como en cafetería y comedor así como el servicio de habitaciones. Los precios y la calidad están acordes a la cadena hotelera de Paradores. Lo recomendamos.

Suite und Service der Rezeption waren ausgezeichnet! Frühstückservice und das Abendessen als Ganzes entsprachen nicht unseren Erwartungen. Insbesondere das im großen Innenhof dargebotene Abendessen war qualitativ nicht akzeptabel, d.h. das Essen wurde in einem Fall kalt, im anderen Fall völlig versalzen gereicht. Der gesamte Service war unpersönlich und wirkte strapaziert und auf meine anschließend behutsam vorgetragene Kritik bei der herbei gebetenen Oberkellnerin reagierte diese bei der Bezahlung mit einem Preisnachlass. Obschon ich die Geste verstand, lag dieses aber nicht in unserer Absicht, wehalb ich den vollständigen Betrag beglich. MIr ging es nicht um das Geld, sondern um eine Resonanz für die Küche. Insofern hätte ich es zum Beispiel angemessener oder persönlicher gefunden, wenn die Küche z.B. ein kleines "Trost"-Konfekt oder etwas ähnliches gereicht hätte und nicht ein Kostennachlass.

The location & atmosphere of this Parador was excellent, very interesting building. Tastefully transformed to an hotel. The room was large & beds very comfortable. We very much enjoyed a drink in the court yard before dinner. Dinner was excellent.

This hotel is, in my opinion, in the middle of nowhere, But it is really fantastic. We stayed here on the strong recommendation of a friend. For a nice getaway this is PERFECT. The food is delicious, the service is impeccable, the property is beautiful and interesting. Everything that you need is at this place. We highly recommend this hotel.

La estancia fue correcta,el personal amable. Lo mejor el edificio histórico y su estado de conservación,aunque la habitación queda algo desfasada, el secador no funcionaba bien,pedí uno y lo trajeron de inmediato. Era una habitación triple, y nos proporcionaron dos camitas más un sofá cama incomodísimo. No está muy pensado para los niños. Lo mejor sin duda la visita teatralizada. La comida es buena,pero mejorable.

Tener un lugar mítico y un patrimonio histórico conlleva la responsabilidad de cuidarlo. Justo lo que no hace Paradores. El edificio es maravilloso. Pero nadie ha pensado en que las habitaciones sean cómodas, acogedoras, que te pongan una misera cafetera o botella de agua. El desayuno es el peor que he tomado en un año. Cutre, recogen delante de ti. El servicio, reactivo, sin cariño Un desastre. Solo pienso en lo que haría un hotelero privado con este patrimonio…
