"This hotel has a compelling vibe, and I do recommend you to opt for it for a stay on Bornholm. The bed is second to none - sleep quality is probably the best I’ve experienced in a hotel. Breakfast is good, and the 24/7 free coffee is a big plus. The sitting areas inside and outside are nice. Staff is welcoming and helpful. Reason why this is not a five star rating is the bathroom. Other reviews has pointed it out: it’s is (too) small, and the shower solution simply is disqualifying; the cabin is open to the toilet and floor, resulting in a soaking wet toilet and sprayed floor after showering. I for one simply don’t get why the hotel doesn’t equip the cabin with some kind of door to eliminate this issue. There are plenty of solutions out there for narrow space scenarios"

"Stayed here for two nights as we were having a roadtrip around the island. The room was simple but good but had a couple of minor things that would need some attention: one of the bedsides had no table as the wall mount was broken off but they had temporarily put a small table there instead. The bathroom door did not open all the way because the toilet seat was in the way and the shower cabin doors didn't fully seal when closet so water leaked out on the floor when showering. Minor stuff but knocks off a few points in the overall review. Our room had the entrance close to the the reception and restaurant with outdoor seating space just outside but we didn't experience any sort of disturbance with people passing by or making any noice. The staff were nice and helpful on arrival. Plenty of free parking spaces on the back but a bit limited on the front. The breakfast was very good with and well assorted. "

"A quirky hotel with great potential but a little tired. My room was tiny but clean and adequate. The location is excellent. There is a very nice garden to sit in and the breakfast was good. The bread ( loaf rather than the rolls) was as good as any I have ever had. However, what spoiled the experience for me was my reception by the proprietor who was cold and unwelcoming, giving me a key but no further information. It took me two hours to pluck up the courage to go back again to ask for the WiFi code and where to charge my e-bike."

"If you want to lower your pulse and blood pressure - Sandkaas Badehotel is the right place. The hotel is rather small, but the atmosphere is relaxing and cozy. The owners (Josephine and Christian) make you feel like you are home(also what the sign says at the entrance). They do a lot to make their guests feel good. The rooms are newly renovated in a classic bath hotel style, and very clean. Top of the day(in my opinion) is the breakfast. Every day Christian makes homemade breakfast buns which are super delicious. All breakfast products are of highly good quality. Sitting on the terrace and enjoying breakfast at the same time with a view over the Baltic Sea is so fantastic."
