If you want to stay somewhere with plenty of character and atmosphere in Alghero Old Town, then go no further than Hotel San Francesco. Situated in a former 16th century monastery its like no other hotel I have stayed in. Although the rooms are small, they are spotless and have all the required amenities. The hotel is quiet. Breakfast is a treat and is taken in the Cloisters. Francesco and Lello are super friendly hosts and they just add to the all round great experience. You can enter the stunning Church from the hotel, so don't miss it. Five star experience.

Nous y sommes restés une semaine. L'hôtel est très beau, l'ancien cloître ou prendre le petit déjeuner est magnifique. Le personnel est adorable, le petit déjeuner varié. Le seul bémol, la chambre, austère ce qui correspond au style qui ne supportera pas la modernité mais les équipements ( robinetterie, carrelages, peinture ) sont en mauvais état. Et je conseille une chambre au 2 e étage car la nôtre donnait sur la coursive et de ce fait les volets restent fermés et vous ne voyez jamais la lumière du jour. De plus si des personnes viennent fumer sur la coursive, votre chambre sent le tabac ..L'emplacement est génial par contre. Bilan plutôt positif tout de même grâce à la gentillesse du personnel

I'm a solo traveller and this hotel was perfect for me in Alghero. Super clean, prime location at the heart of the old city. Close to supermarkets, cafes and to the bus to the airport. I slept in a twin room which had a bunk bed, a balcony, and ensuite bathroom. The room has air condition, coffee machine, dryer, table, chair and linen and towels are provided. Room is cleaned every day. The guys at the reception are super kind and helpful. I will definitely come back!

A nice hotel right in the centre of the old town, with the hotel appearing to occupy around 1/4 of the upper floors of the old building complex of the Church of San Francesco. The rooms are quite basic (no TV but not a problem) and small room, but the bed was comfortable and the room shutters allows for a very good nights sleep, and there was no noise from the pedestrian street outside. Breakfast was quite good for a small hotel (and for an Italian hotel which from my experience are normally quite simple). Special thanks to Frank for contacting me after Booking . yeah messed up a change to my reservation and cancelled all my rooms, but Frank helped me sort out the problem. An interesting hotel and well worth a stay if you want a hotel in the historic centre, rather than a beach resort hotel.

Posizione eccellente, nel cuore del centro storico di Alghero, Le camere si affacciano sul meraviglioso chiostro della Chiesa di San Francesco e, sempre nel chiostro, al mattino viene servita una buona colazione in un contesto estremamente suggestivo. Il personale dell'albergo è molto premuroso e gentile con i clienti, Le camere sono semplici, direi spartane, senza fronzoli di nessun genere. Manca anche la TV. Tuttavia, sono molto pulite, con letti comodi e molto silenziose. Per quanto mi riguarda mi ritengo del tutto soddisfatto di questa scelta probabilmente un po' alternativa ma da consigliare a chi vuole vivere un'esperienza diversa dalle solite.

Ottimo albergo, pulito e funzionale. In una ottima posizione centrale permette di visitare tutto il centro storico comodamente a piedi. Vicinissimo a ristoranti e locali. Unica pecca: non ha l'ascensore (ha comunque solo due piani), consiglio in caso di prenotazione di chiamare e chiedere una camera al primo piano. Colazione abbondante e abbastanza ricca da consumare su una terrazza interna che affaccia sul chiostro... meraviglia! Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. Stanze silenziose. Assolutamente consigliato.

Un hotel muy cómodo en el centro histórico de Alguero , las instalaciones y los baños son antiguos pero es súper cómodo para moverse por el centro , el desayuno está bien y se toma encima del Claustro , no hay TV ni frigorífico pero si wifi . .....

Posizione centralissima, nel centro storico di Alghero, ma molto silenziosa. Vicina anche ai mezzi pubblici. Nota positiva: trovarsi in un antico convento; sala colazioni che si affaccia sul cortile interno. Arredo vetusto, più che essenziale nella stanza e per niente rimodernata. Bagno microscopico. Colazione con poca scelta e scarsa qualità. Prezzo elevato, ma si trova al centro di Alghero.
