Stayed for one night in one of the suites. Good sized room, lovely big window. Mostly clean, kettle was a bit grubby and poured everywhere but the cups. TV remote didn’t work properly .Parking available. No breakfast which was a shame. Polite staff, and a lovely historic building. Would come again.

We stayed in the family room for one night. Me, hubby and 1 child. Room was lovely, clean and nicely decorated. All staff were friendly and very welcoming. We all slept great. Perfect for what we needed. In the morning, there was a lovely little market outside.

Where shall I start. We were spending the day at Huttoft beach on Sunday and thought instead of being the tent we would treat ourselves to a night in a hotel for a change and this one seemed to be ideal as it accepted dogs. However. The website is by no means accurate. They don’t do food. But you can order from a takeaway and eat in the bar. That’s not what it says on the website. Yes, the room is clean, but that’s it. We saw one member of staff although she was very pleasant that was it! £76! I’d rather have bought my tent. The revamped garden is a square slabbed area with plastic hanging baskets with plastic plants. Nothing enticing. Then look out for pub Chuck out time. Shouting screaming fights smashing glass (a shop window). Will be requesting a refund.

my friends and i found this place when looking for a last minute stay for new years, and what a stay it was, the host was absolutely wonderful and made us feel at home, the rooms was lovely and clean and the beds made me feel as snug as a bug in a rug. would definitely recommend for an affordable yet quality stay.

We stayed in the Superior Double room for 1 night. It was a very big room and the bathroom had a bath and a free standing shower which was great for us as I like a shower and my husband likes a bath. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food looked good but we did not eat there as we had eaten before we arrived. We will be returning for another stay in the future. My only issue is my husband likes 2 pillows and there is only 1 each on the bed and no spare ones in the room so he had to use the cushions as a second pillow. That's the only reason for 4 stars and not 5 stars could not fault the rest of our stay.

Called in for a pint or two with my good lady and the two dogs. An excellent welcome, and good beer. Seating was excellent. Ordered two meals; the pasta bake and scampi and chips with mushy peas. Really excellent quality, thoroughly enjoyed our meals and do not hesitate to recommend the hotel.

After a three and a half hour journey we arrived to locked Hotel doors the time was 14.55 check in time was stated as 15.00 hours. A phone call from a local person outside on the square kindly contacted the owner. The owner responded and said she would be down shortly. Eventually after gaining access the first thing we noticed was the very dingy, dark and totally uninviting and disappointing reception area. No warm welcome, no friendly smiles, no apologies only questions over our booking. she showed us to our room on the second floor along a threadbare, dirty stair carpet looked like it had never seen a vacuum cleaner in a long, long time. ( disgusting). First response we thought the room was clean, very small not enough space for a chair, no hairdryer, no shower cap. the gap between the sash window and secondary double glazing was thick with dead insects, the window glass was filthy. Room carpet was new but due to the lack of attention the door should have been taken off and refitted because we had huge difficulties pushing the door over the carpet just to access our room. the carpet came away completely from the gripping and although we informed the owner nothing was done to rectify the problem to a standard fit for purpose, someone came along and had a token gesture of pushing it back under the grip but that was all. We had to put up with this situation which was a danger to any guests both for trip hazard and fire safety, guests would find it very difficult getting out of the room in a hurry. The weekend was War Weekend for Alford, bunting in the square and a full size Spitfire replica. Menu at The Windmill was 1940s theme served in breakfast bowels Not even enough for a child portion, the evening meal of Lasagna was also served in a breakfast bowl which looked like a dogs dinner, have to say we were not the only guests to complain.

Came in for drinks for a work meeting and was a really present environment. Not too busy and Luke that works there was funny and and helped us a lot with our needs due to allergies, had really good knowledge and real asset to your selfs! Due to his good humour and service we ending up staying longer and the work meeting ending up being a couple of drinks…. Will definitely be back! And hope Luke is there too! Amazing!

Nicely done up environment, calming colours. Nice seating. Reasonable pricing. More traditional pub food menu. Friendly staff and Jolly barman. Told us in advance that they were short staffed and there maybe a wait. But food was quiet prompt. We will be going again.
