We booked this trip as an alternative to a city break in the UK, we were missing Portugal after the last couple of years absence. The cost via Thomas Cook was cheaper with flights and 3 nights here than 3 nights in UK, so we booked. We upgraded to a superior seaview room, it was well worth it, we were blown away with the view, the size of the room and the overall serene vibe to the hotel. We were in the Inatel Praia which is located a short walk from the main Inatel building which is where the pool area is. We did wander across there and the rooms we could see with balconies looked appealing too. You can tell by the photos which building, as the Priai building is all done in pale blue/turquiose decoration and furnishings. The room had 2 single beds pushed together. The bathroom area was like one large galss cube with a band of frosted glass for some privacy. It gave a very modern feel. There was a safe and a small fridge with a flat screen tv on the wall. The large sliding doors out onto the balcony and the sea view was what made this room special, it was so nice to sit and watch everyone walking and playing on the beach and listening to the waves in the evening. Breakfast was in a clean, bright room with doors open onto a terrace so you could take your food out there. It was an adequate breakfast,. Each day there was a variety of bread rolls, croissants, pain au chocolat, cakes, (you had to be really early to get the pastel de nata). There was sliced cheese, a whole camembert to spoon out the centre, brie, tomatoes, soft cheese and pate. Fresh fruit which was lovely and fresh, we had melon, pineapple and huge grapes, strawberries. There were yoghurts, cereals and mixed nits, dried fruti etc. If you like a hot breakfast this possibly would dissapoint you as there was fried eggs, thick slices of buffalo tomato, beans, scrambled egg , bacon and hot dog style mini sausage. My husband did try these but they were not very warm and not very tasty. I enjoyed my breakfast each day and to be honest it made a nice change being forced to choose something other than traditional hot breakfast. There was also 2 varieties of bread for toast and jam, fresh fruit juices, tea and coffee, with yoghurt drinks too. We got the feeling there were not a lot of English speaking staff there, but everyone we encountered were very friendly, smiley and polite. We prefer not to have our room cleaned everyday and left the do not disturb sign out, we got a letter by the door saying they had not done the room as our sign was out but to request any items we were short of and they would bring them to us, nice touch we thought. The location is great, we are a coulple in our 50's and value some level of peace and quiet and like to seek out the hustle and bustle rather than be among it, a very short walk from the escalators and you were there, very convenient. The Watefront and the beach bar are very close and served lovely cocktails. So all in all a great hotel to lay your head wi

Hotel is central to old town and new the other way . Bedroom was fair to good but on the 1st floor and on a busy road side /around about . But we only planned to sleep here so not a real problem . Staff is fantastic isabel on reception and Jose in restaurant. There is a hairdressers and a spa and 2 big pools loads of beds so no towel raiding lol Very happy would come again.

The hotel is big and has several attractions, from indoor and outdoor pools and animation, gym, playground, all very good.
Positive points - impeccable cleanliness, friendliness of staff, hot water, small appliances that were old but worked perfectly, cable TV with several channels.
Negative points- the furniture is old, the mattresses are uncomfortable, at the reception I was attended by an inexperienced person and was being charged twice the value of the extra bed, very weak internet, we never managed to get a signal during our stay. A lot to improve for a good comfort of the guests.

Breakfast buffet is super invincible and delicious! Especially fruit selection is especially great! The hotel will take the initiative to help parking is free. Hotel dinner is not recommended for single or buffet, the taste is very general, the ingredients are not too fresh. The sea view room has a beautiful sunrise view of the sea on the west side of the sunrise. Also saw the double rainbow! The on-site walking trail is also very convenient to walk to the sandy beach of Sao Rafeal. In the morning, it is empty and there is no one, just like enjoying a private beach. The only downside is that the spa is charged separately by number of people, and the free swimming pool also has to buy a swimming cap to enter.

Good service and elegant and recent room. Little reproaches: no gross mirror in the bathroom, nor a available bathroom shirt. Correct breakfast. You are 10 minutes walk from the beach. If not, a vehicle is essential to move because the area is very quiet.

Before heading out to Portugal I was in regular contact with the hotel and they we're very prompt and helpful with my queries. They also organised transport from the airport which was €45 for the two of us, however, on the return journey, it was €55 as it was before 8am - something we were not advised if up front. (We later learned that you could organise an Uber or transport direct from the airport for around €25-€30, so it pays to do more research beforehand). Arrived at the hotel to be greeted by lovely, courteous staff and was told we had been given a room upgrade (we had booked a 2 bed apartment with balcony and this was upgraded to one of their 2 bed terraced apartments) - WOW! I shed a tear when we found the terrace! The hotel also accommodated our request to be away from nightly entertainment noise - so grateful for that! The apartment was huge, clean and was very well kitted out - full kitchen, crockery, cutlerty, cooking equipment, fridge with mini freezer, hob, microwave, kettle etc, lovely lounge/diner area and two huge bedrooms, one with ensuite, and another bathroom. The usual liquid soap, shampoo/ bodywash and conditioner all supplied by the hotel. There are 4 USB ports in each bedroom and also a 2 x 3 pin plug sockets. The hotel is situated on a busy road, and depending on where your room is, this may be an issue. Soundproofing in the apartment itself is very good i.e. I couldn't hear my husband's snoring, but even with patio doors/windows shut, traffic and outside noise is very evident (even though they're double glazed). I found the mattress very hard, and after chasing Reception twice, a soft mattress topper was provided, which helped a lot. I had an issue with a loose toilet seat and this was promptly sorted by maintenance. Housekeeping - towels and bed linen changed every 3 days. Bottle of water supplied every day - they will provide more if required. We booked all inclusive and found, like a lot of previous reviews, the food to be disappointing. It was lukewarm and sometimes very dried out. There wasn't a huge selection of salads, desserts or mains (2 different meats, 2 fish, rice, a pasta dish, some potatoes, kids section with fish fingers, nuggets, chips etc and a vegan section with 4 dishes) and as a last resort, you could have pizza if nothing took your fancy, which happened on several occasions. Soups were mostly fish or bean/barley based but there was a nice tomato and a carrot/pumpkin soup which was nice. Desserts were never named, and a lot of the cakes contained nuts so for those with allergens, I would recommend you ask the kitchen staff as to what's in the desserts before you tuck in. There was always fresh fruit and cheese and biscuits too (again, this never varied). There was a small selection of bread and rolls, which remained the same choice throughout breakfast, lunch and dinner. Cooked breakfast was the usual bacon, sausages, hash browns, baked beans, mushrooms, tomatoes etc plus a sele

Amazing place, 2 big bedrooms we booked and they were huge. Clean in general. Had all kitchen and catering amenities. Staff was kind. For the price it was a steal. Highly recommend this place. It’s about 12 min drive to albufeira center. There’s a Aldi in 5 min drive very handy. The place has a common swimming pool we did not use it as it was still a bit chilly and we were tired too. Lot of parking around inside the villa. The only downsides I can say and they are minor the shower could be slightly better spray that’s it. 5/5 for me.

Excellent
Excellent hotel. Location great. Hotel was very clean and the rooms where large and spacious. Good size kitchen with everything you need. Staff where great and very polite. Food was excellent and the pool bar was very nice. The Bellux Entertainment team where great fun around the pool and the shows of an evening was good fun. Had fab fun with Lina Maria and ever so funny Loui as well as the rest of the group. The best thing was pool did not open till 9 and you could get a bed any time of the day. Absolute fab holiday and would definitely go back. Thanks to all the staff you are all amazing.
GGuest UserSuper holiday! We have just spent 10days on half board here at the Porto bay Falesia. We had a fantastic time. The staff are all so friendly and helpful, bending over backwards to make the experience all the more pleasurable. We stayed in a sea view room on the 3rd floor and it was amazing! Great size room with lovely bathroom and rituals products. Cleaning staff were so lovely and kept our room spruced up throughout our stay. The food was really good. The selection was so good, always something for everyone, I prefer fish and my husband prefers meat and neither were disappointed. We also had a meal at il basilica which was great. We spent most of the week relaxing by the pool or on the beach and walking. The pool area is perfect for reading a book, plenty of loungers. The beach is accessed by around 120 steps which we loved but I can see they may be an issue if not so mobile or able. The beach is incredible! We walked to vila moura which took around 2 hours, had lunch and walked back. There was also a lovely walk along the cliff top in the other direction going via the town of olhos de agua. This walk was spectacular! It takes you all the way to Maria Luisa beach via a restaurant on the beach called passaro azul ( definitely worth a visit). We spent a morning at the indoor pool, sauna and steam room which was nice as it was raining outside. My husband also used the gym which was adequate. The town is sweet with a selection of restaurants and shops plus a small supermarket for supplies! All in all we had a fantastic 10days and will definitely be back. Thank you to all the staff for making it such a great holiday!
LLopesGabrielmodern, with an incredible view of Salgados beach, impeccable accommodation and unique leisure infrastructure, a place to relax and have unforgettable moments.
AAnonymous UserThere are relatively few buses in the Albufeira area, so it is still suitable for self-driving. The hotel has free parking, and the receptionist at the front desk is very enthusiastic and meticulous, introducing the surrounding attractions in detail. The size of the room is suitable, but the ventilation system is not very good and the room feels damp. The breakfast is very good, including fruit cake, smooth eggs, yogurt, etc., very rich.
This hotel has some definite highlights, it is a beautifully designed hotel, with excellent architecture. A 348 room hotel, which feels far more intimate and comfortable than the size suggests. The rooms are large and well appointed, they all have a very large bed and we found ours to be extremely comfortable. Good quality showers and a decent sized balcony too. The air conditioning unit was not very effective but there a ceiling fan too, our stay was October, so the air conditioning unit wasn’t as important as it would have been mid summer. Our room and communal areas were exceptionally clean - I feel the cleaning team work very hard and do a great job. Food at the hotel was very good, I felt that the chefs worked very hard and took a good deal of pride in what they produced. The Al la carte restaurant was good, but was disappointed that you could only have one visit over a two week period - it didn’t seem equitable that if you stay for one week you get one visit or the same if you stay for two weeks. The biggest disappointment by far, has been the wine which was part of the all inclusive - it was terrible. We have stayed at many hotels with Tui and also privately booking and this has been the worst and really put me off the all inclusive option. We spent over £100 on buying wine for dinner times, which we felt was not appropriate on an all inclusive holiday. One of the biggest attractions has been the gym and exercise classes - Nicola and Phillippa have run many different classes and they were absolutely fabulous! The gym is well equipped. There are some excellent serving staff, quite a few from Nepal were brilliant at customer service. The receptionists were variable - Maria was lovely and helpful whilst Domminica was rude and had no customer service skills at all. The location is lovely, very beautiful coastline. Top tip - avoid overlooking the main road and “*****” as very noisy.
CcztianyangLoved this hotel and would definitely go back. The hotel is a wee bit up the hill but walking distance to old town and *****. Taxi rank at the roundabout at the bottom of the hill if you don’t want to walk and about 5 euros from the hotel to either parts of town. Breakfast was excellent with usual wide range of choices: especially liked the porridge. Lunch snacks were also decent but never tried the evening buffet so can’t comment. Pool areas are heat with sunrise and sunset pools. Plenty of beds but may get busy in high season and with kids. Outside and inside bar and games room on the lower ground floor. Gym was very well equipped and quality machines and weights. Only gripe is there is no water in the gym and you have to buy it from either the shop or the bar. It was also warm and the air conditioning didn’t seem to be on. The desk seemed to be manned sporadically as well. There is also an indoor pool, squash court!!! and sauna and steam room: the steam room was very hot to the point it was almost scalding (for me anyway) and hot steam blasting in below your legs: only managed about 30 seconds before I had to come out. Sauna was great though. You only seemed to be able to get to the indoor pool by trekking through the spa area and back up the stairs even though there were doors out to the main outdoor pool area: never saw these doors open but they may be opened in high season. There seemed to be a spa area but this looked closed: again may be open during high season. Rooms were large and plenty of storage. Bed was a bit soft but that is personal taste. Wee on site shop was well stocked but pricy. There is a supermarket at the bottom of the road, about a 5 minute walk. All in all great hotel, very clean and staff were friendly, courteous and helpful.
When me and my twin brother were staying in Albufeira we stayed in the Luna Hotel Da Oura on R.de Dunfermline. This hotel is only a short walk away from the main ***** were there are many pubs/bars and restaurants and a fifteen minute walk to Albufeira's old town. The hotel has a nice reception area and a superb outside swimming pool and there's an indoor pool. The room we had (336) was clean and spacious (a little dated) but very well presented. The bed's were brilliant and the rooms cleaned everyday. The breakfast was varied and filling and the staff were 1st rate. A superb hotel in a superb area of this very lively resort and on our next visit to here we will stay in this fantastic hotel again.(This is my first review of the Luna Hotel Da Oura).
GGuest UserFantastic Apartment complex. We stayed for a week (2 friends and 2 children). Considering the apartment was very reasonable we weren’t sure what to expect. Rooms were fresh and modern, lots of lovely extra touches (toiletries, coffee machine, washing up liquid and sponge etc) which you don’t always get in other places. The whole place was immaculately presented and house keeping work hard keeping the place clean and fresh. Pool area was lovely, very quiet and always loads of sun beds on offer. On a few occasions we were the only ones there! There was a slight blimp when we arrived. We were greeted by a polite and helpful young man who informed us there had been a mix up and the 2 bed apartment we’d book wasn’t going to be vacated until the following day. In which case for that night we were placed in a 1 bed with sofa bed in lounge. By way of compensation, we were given free breakfast the following day. The apartment was huge and again well appointed. We found the complex and the surrounding areas to be really quiet, we were told this was because it was the start of the season. It was a 10-15 min walk to the main resort which had 10+ restaurants and bars as well as the main beach. There is also a beach 50m away from the apartments, however that is accessed by 100+ steps (not buggy friendly). We got an Uber into Albufera a few times (this ranged from 6-10 euros each way. Although that was enjoyable, we were glad to return to the quieter and more chilled area of Ohlas de Água. Cannot speak highly enough of this complex, can’t wait to return.
JJorden/- Lovely cosy apartment, that looked even nicer and more modern than on the photos.
- While not super big, the space has been very cleverly used and it felt like having my own mini home.
- Kitchen is well equipped, so you can really use it to cook your own dinner (I just missed a colander to drain rice and vegetables, but I realise it must be impossible to cater for every individual guest's preferences). Enough pots, pans, cutlery, even a corkscrew and dishcloth are provided. No spices, oil or sponge though, so (quite understandably) you need to buy or bring a few things yourself.
- Lovely balcony, sunny most of the day and I could even watch the sea from there.
- Good location, as long as you're fine being near ”The Strip” (and not so near the old town). Very close to the beach. In a central but quiet location (at least in February, but my guess is that it's just far enough from the Strip to be reasonably quiet in busier months as well). About a 10 minute walk from Santa Eulalia bus stop from where you can take a bus to Faro (and other places on that route, such as Vilamoura and Quarteira). It's about a 40 minute walk to the main bus terminal. There's also a city bus, but I never really worked out that system (taxis are everywhere too and apparently not very expensive either).
- Great value for money. I extended my stay by 2 more nights and certainly recommend this place.
While I very much enjoyed my stay here, there are a few small things that could possibly still be improved. Those are really just small details though!
- I'd suggest putting a few extra bin bags in the apartment. Cleaning takes place every 3 or 4 days, which is totally fine. But especially if guests cook in the apartment, the rubbish contains food rests and starts smelling after a few days. It's no problem to change the bag myself, but having a few extra bags in the room would be helpful.
- There's an illuminated ”emergency exit” sign above the apartment's entrance door, on the inside the room. That's really annoying at night, because it's like always keeping one light switched on in your bedroom. Can't those signs be placed outside the room? I ended up covering it with a dark T-shirt every night, which solved the problem too;-)
- There's no socket near the bed.
RRONGThe problem with this hotel is the management. The hotel is very big and the route sign is not clear. I was lucky to find the room after walking for 30 minutes. And the breakfast information is wrong, the parking information is wrong. These problems should be improved through management, and good results should be obtained.
