I think this place is quite far from been a 5 star W service. The cleaning arrived around 6 pm and also we had a bad situation with the room cards (it stoped working on the 3rd night).
On the other hand the room by itself was spectacular, big and bright. F&B service was good as well.
To conclude - do not expect perfect work on reception but at least you can enjoy friendly restaurant staff.
Health Club Renovation
A renovation project for the Health Club indoor outdoor pool in the main building will start on the 8th of January 2024 and is expected to take four to five weeks to complete. To avoid any discomfort the left wing of the main building will not be accessible. A temporary solution in another part of the Resort will ensure access to health club facilities like Sauna Jacuzzi and Gym and to an outdoor heated pool with buggy transportation during the opening hours to and from that area.

Ah what a lovely beachy chilled out palm tree fringed holiday this place offers! It is just the ultimate European beach holiday if you are looking for decompression and stunning vistas this is for you. I don't think it is especially luxurious as such, it has a comfortable, laid back coastal moorish style, but it suits the style and location of the hotel so well, and together with the most wonderful staff it really delivers a traditional beach holiday in every sense of the word. The activities and sports on offer, the number of restaurants to choose from will meet most people's expectations. The breakfast was just outstanding overlooking the shimmering waters. The care and thought as to how they can deliver for families without taking away the peace and tranquility for adult guests should be used as an example to other hotels of this calibre. They have perfected the blend, and so it offers a multi generational holiday whatever you are looking for. The pool service was outstanding. The relaxation is guaranteed. The tropical gardens are so beautiful - it almost has an unreal feeling about it. We loved it, and we will be back, and next time we will stay for much longer. I don't think the blend of laid back fun with wonderful service like this really exists anymore - it is an art form and quite rare - but here it is still possible! Take your shoes off for a while, breathe in the warm sea air and let them look after you! Very well done to the GM and team

This is a beautiful refurbished hotel . Rooms great size , and we had a terrace balcony. Great bathroom. Breakfast is exceptional with plenty of choice and all very fresh .. choice of fruit great for me and my husband was happy with choice of eggs and omelettes Service was excellent at breakfast and some great staff ! The pool area was lovely but on the 3 days we spent there from 10.30 to 3.30 there were at least 8 sun beds with towels and bags on them that no one ever used .. please look at having staff remove this items after a certain amount of time as we would have loved to have used the soft comfy bed at the pool My husband used the gym but was disappointed that there was no water and nothing to clean or sanitise the gym equipment after use … some sanitising wipes would have been great . A manager actually came down to look as another guest complained but he looked around and left ! We would def return to this hotel as it’s in a fab location , breakfast excellent , beautiful views , bar area lovely . Peaceful and quiet and surrounding areas lovely with plenty of great restaurants

A truly great experience!! Room was comfortable and housekeeping excellent. Well placed with a view of the Marina. The highlight of each morning of my 5 night stay was the Breakfast. Fantastic choice and everything well cooked and presented. The staff, particularly the trainees, were always friendly and obliging. I couldn't fault anything about the Breakfast at all. The situation of the Hotel was ideal for me but might not suit everyone as it was sited out of the Town. A beautiful beach was adjacent to the Hotel and even out of season there were a variety of Restaurants nearby. All staff, the Receptionists, Restaurant staff and Housekeeping were outstanding, always greeted me with a smile and very helpful.

We arrived around 3 p.m. and the person at the reception couldn't find our reservation made through Trip.com. With a lot of anger and insistence he told us that he couldn't do anything and that we had to contact Trip.com to solve the thing with them (after 9 hours of travel and all the possible confirmation emails). While I was waiting for Trip.com to respond to us, another person called us saying that everything was in order, that they couldn't find it due to a ”computer error.” Not an apology, nothing.
The room was not bad, second floor, well located. Old hotel facility, the 5 stars are not deserved, honestly, it is a current 4 star, for the price paid it is fine.
Good buffet breakfast, equally good and attentive service.
We had a problem one day when they didn't make the room, we had to complain at 7:30 p.m. and they cleaned it and made it very quickly (and quite ”lightly”), but, well...
We cannot comment on SPA, Gym etc since we have not tried those services.

Overall, it was fine. Not the worst, not the best.
Would I stay there again for the same price paid? Probably not. Did I have a super bad experience? No. Could it have been better? Yes.
The cleaning staff was super kind. Loved the blackout curtains and tinted windows. AC was on point.
However, mattress kept shifting from the bed frame which was super annoying. The sliding door of the wardrobe wouldn’t open/close easily. The shower cubicle was quite small and glass door wouldn’t seal shut properly- as a result water would leak out. Screws of the soap tray and hair dryer were loose. The carpet also needed deep cleaning. They had complimentary kettle and tea in the room (something so basic at that price should not be advertised as “complimentary”). It did not include coffee! If you wanted coffee, you had to go downstairs to their bar to buy it. I mean how much does it cost to add 2 sachets of instant coffee to a complimentary package?
In terms of location, there isn’t much to do in Faro. Hotel is few mins walk away from the station but trains don’t run so regularly so it may be better to stay in other areas if you’re looking to do a lot of touristy things.

This our fifth stay at this hotel and it never fails to impress. The rooms are spacious, the breakfast is exceptional and all the staff are wonderful. The hotel is not by the sea but inland about a 10 minute drive - Faro airport is about 20 minutes away, which makes it a quiet place to relax and unwind. We would recommend eating in the restaurant at night as the menu is varied and beautifully presented. All together an outstanding hotel: a real gem.

The resort provides a very beautiful complex just outside Portimao in Algarve district of Portugal. We were impressed by the facilities on site and the food provided.
Their staffs , in particular Mr.Joao Figueira, were so friendly and helpful that we were able to move around all facilities with no difficulties.

Unexpectedly beautiful.
Booked a bit at the last minute due to some changes in the program, it turned out to be much better than a thousand others!
Pros
- the laundry open 24 hours
- the impeccable cleanliness and the silence
- the coffee machine open 24 hours
- covered parking space
Cons
- much more could be done about breakfast
- the location; with bolt or a rental car you solve the problem

Excellent
Just stayed here for a week. Lovely hotel. Really large rooms with plenty of storage. Lovely pool view room. Hotel staff really helpful and friendly. Pool a really good size with a nice pool bar. Evening entertainment in the bar every night. Though was a little small but the entertainment staff were really good and friendly. Nice pool room downstairs to have a game. There is a gym. Quite small if you're a regular gym goer but you could adapt to get a good workout. Didn't eat in the hotel but the food looked nice. Small little shop on site which sells your regular essentials. Nicely stocked. Rooms were cleaned daily. Would definitely stay here again. It is a bit far from the old town about a 40 min walk or about 4 to 5 euros in an uber. 10 mins from aldi and 5 mins from the new town *****.
Travelled with my disabled father with his walker, however the hotel kindly lent us a wheelchair which we would never have managed without, especially outside as the paths are very uneven.Rooms amazing, Food great,Staff fantastic and helpful, couldn't use shuttle bus with my father so used taxis very expensive unless you have Uber app, entertainment bit limited missed the quiz as wasn't made aware it was in the TV area till too late for seats. There are 2 pools we only used one near to my father's room in case of toilet needs, it's not heated however I don't mind that, would return but on our own to explore area more.
GGuest UserSuper holiday! We have just spent 10days on half board here at the Porto bay Falesia. We had a fantastic time. The staff are all so friendly and helpful, bending over backwards to make the experience all the more pleasurable. We stayed in a sea view room on the 3rd floor and it was amazing! Great size room with lovely bathroom and rituals products. Cleaning staff were so lovely and kept our room spruced up throughout our stay. The food was really good. The selection was so good, always something for everyone, I prefer fish and my husband prefers meat and neither were disappointed. We also had a meal at il basilica which was great. We spent most of the week relaxing by the pool or on the beach and walking. The pool area is perfect for reading a book, plenty of loungers. The beach is accessed by around 120 steps which we loved but I can see they may be an issue if not so mobile or able. The beach is incredible! We walked to vila moura which took around 2 hours, had lunch and walked back. There was also a lovely walk along the cliff top in the other direction going via the town of olhos de agua. This walk was spectacular! It takes you all the way to Maria Luisa beach via a restaurant on the beach called passaro azul ( definitely worth a visit). We spent a morning at the indoor pool, sauna and steam room which was nice as it was raining outside. My husband also used the gym which was adequate. The town is sweet with a selection of restaurants and shops plus a small supermarket for supplies! All in all we had a fantastic 10days and will definitely be back. Thank you to all the staff for making it such a great holiday!
MMargaret TSuch a lovely 10 day stay. The staff are friendly and polite and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were spotlessly clean, linens changed every day. The view from our room was stunning (304). The breakfast was buffet and the choice astounding. We also ate a few times in the ground floor restaurant and of course used the ice cream parlour! We spent a few evenings in the bar, with Noonoo at the piano ( except for Sundays when we were entertained by ”Presumed Innocent”) fantastic place to watch the sun go down and served in luxury. We loved it. Thank you all. PS. To contradict an earlier reviewer. There IS a swimming pool, but we didn't use it as the beach is on the doorstep!
The hotel staff were lovely, no complaints at all. Always pleasant and willing to help. Two specific examples were when there was a leak in the bathroom on the first day. They were overwhelmingly apologetic and this was immediately rectified. Additionally, my partner had a small medical emergency, and the TUI staff at the hotel were able to assist and give guidance on the best hospital to visit. The buffet food was surprisingly good, particularly the fish. There were a few queues for outdoor seating at peak times but seating was always available indoors. On the day we returned home, the coach left very early, but were pleased to find that the hotel offered an early breakfast so we could fill up before leaving for the airport. The hotel very clean in general, and our room, the cheapest option, was more than adequate with plenty of space. We had a balcony overlooking the tennis court and maintenance area but didn’t really mind - we didn’t spend much time there. The photos on the TUI website were accurate and gave a true to life picture of what it was like. Of course there are some improvements, but these are not dealbreakers in any regard. Firstly the cocktails are too strong which at least for us made them far less enjoyable - even when asking the staff for less alcohol the pours were still a lot! The shower gel and shampoo was a bit odd - for a premium hotel, to have a ‘Travellodge style’, bolted to the wall, all in one bottle was disappointing and could be improved. Finally there should be more toilets by the pool area as there are often queues. Overall we had a fantastic stay and would thoroughly recommend going. The hotel provided a very good experience and we enjoyed visiting the nearby towns, and walking the lovely stretch of beach from the hotel to the Vilamoura Marina.
CcztianyangLoved this hotel and would definitely go back. The hotel is a wee bit up the hill but walking distance to old town and *****. Taxi rank at the roundabout at the bottom of the hill if you don’t want to walk and about 5 euros from the hotel to either parts of town. Breakfast was excellent with usual wide range of choices: especially liked the porridge. Lunch snacks were also decent but never tried the evening buffet so can’t comment. Pool areas are heat with sunrise and sunset pools. Plenty of beds but may get busy in high season and with kids. Outside and inside bar and games room on the lower ground floor. Gym was very well equipped and quality machines and weights. Only gripe is there is no water in the gym and you have to buy it from either the shop or the bar. It was also warm and the air conditioning didn’t seem to be on. The desk seemed to be manned sporadically as well. There is also an indoor pool, squash court!!! and sauna and steam room: the steam room was very hot to the point it was almost scalding (for me anyway) and hot steam blasting in below your legs: only managed about 30 seconds before I had to come out. Sauna was great though. You only seemed to be able to get to the indoor pool by trekking through the spa area and back up the stairs even though there were doors out to the main outdoor pool area: never saw these doors open but they may be opened in high season. There seemed to be a spa area but this looked closed: again may be open during high season. Rooms were large and plenty of storage. Bed was a bit soft but that is personal taste. Wee on site shop was well stocked but pricy. There is a supermarket at the bottom of the road, about a 5 minute walk. All in all great hotel, very clean and staff were friendly, courteous and helpful.
When me and my twin brother were staying in Albufeira we stayed in the Luna Hotel Da Oura on R.de Dunfermline. This hotel is only a short walk away from the main ***** were there are many pubs/bars and restaurants and a fifteen minute walk to Albufeira's old town. The hotel has a nice reception area and a superb outside swimming pool and there's an indoor pool. The room we had (336) was clean and spacious (a little dated) but very well presented. The bed's were brilliant and the rooms cleaned everyday. The breakfast was varied and filling and the staff were 1st rate. A superb hotel in a superb area of this very lively resort and on our next visit to here we will stay in this fantastic hotel again.(This is my first review of the Luna Hotel Da Oura).
GGuest UserFantastic Apartment complex. We stayed for a week (2 friends and 2 children). Considering the apartment was very reasonable we weren’t sure what to expect. Rooms were fresh and modern, lots of lovely extra touches (toiletries, coffee machine, washing up liquid and sponge etc) which you don’t always get in other places. The whole place was immaculately presented and house keeping work hard keeping the place clean and fresh. Pool area was lovely, very quiet and always loads of sun beds on offer. On a few occasions we were the only ones there! There was a slight blimp when we arrived. We were greeted by a polite and helpful young man who informed us there had been a mix up and the 2 bed apartment we’d book wasn’t going to be vacated until the following day. In which case for that night we were placed in a 1 bed with sofa bed in lounge. By way of compensation, we were given free breakfast the following day. The apartment was huge and again well appointed. We found the complex and the surrounding areas to be really quiet, we were told this was because it was the start of the season. It was a 10-15 min walk to the main resort which had 10+ restaurants and bars as well as the main beach. There is also a beach 50m away from the apartments, however that is accessed by 100+ steps (not buggy friendly). We got an Uber into Albufera a few times (this ranged from 6-10 euros each way. Although that was enjoyable, we were glad to return to the quieter and more chilled area of Ohlas de Água. Cannot speak highly enough of this complex, can’t wait to return.
JJorden/- Lovely cosy apartment, that looked even nicer and more modern than on the photos.
- While not super big, the space has been very cleverly used and it felt like having my own mini home.
- Kitchen is well equipped, so you can really use it to cook your own dinner (I just missed a colander to drain rice and vegetables, but I realise it must be impossible to cater for every individual guest's preferences). Enough pots, pans, cutlery, even a corkscrew and dishcloth are provided. No spices, oil or sponge though, so (quite understandably) you need to buy or bring a few things yourself.
- Lovely balcony, sunny most of the day and I could even watch the sea from there.
- Good location, as long as you're fine being near ”The Strip” (and not so near the old town). Very close to the beach. In a central but quiet location (at least in February, but my guess is that it's just far enough from the Strip to be reasonably quiet in busier months as well). About a 10 minute walk from Santa Eulalia bus stop from where you can take a bus to Faro (and other places on that route, such as Vilamoura and Quarteira). It's about a 40 minute walk to the main bus terminal. There's also a city bus, but I never really worked out that system (taxis are everywhere too and apparently not very expensive either).
- Great value for money. I extended my stay by 2 more nights and certainly recommend this place.
While I very much enjoyed my stay here, there are a few small things that could possibly still be improved. Those are really just small details though!
- I'd suggest putting a few extra bin bags in the apartment. Cleaning takes place every 3 or 4 days, which is totally fine. But especially if guests cook in the apartment, the rubbish contains food rests and starts smelling after a few days. It's no problem to change the bag myself, but having a few extra bags in the room would be helpful.
- There's an illuminated ”emergency exit” sign above the apartment's entrance door, on the inside the room. That's really annoying at night, because it's like always keeping one light switched on in your bedroom. Can't those signs be placed outside the room? I ended up covering it with a dark T-shirt every night, which solved the problem too;-)
- There's no socket near the bed.
RRONGThe problem with this hotel is the management. The hotel is very big and the route sign is not clear. I was lucky to find the room after walking for 30 minutes. And the breakfast information is wrong, the parking information is wrong. These problems should be improved through management, and good results should be obtained.
