Morgan State House Inn

Highly recommend this place! We were treated so well. They were very accommodating to us as we were traveling on bicycle. The home is beautiful. There are lovely gardens to enjoy. Our room was quiet, clean, and felt safe.

Gosh, what a lovely, clean, charming, inviting place in just the sweetest walkable neighborhood. It smelled good, it had good vibes and everyone was so nice. We stayed in 3b and our only note is I think it might be time for a new mattress. Otherwise perfection.

Beautiful brownstone with welcoming staff/owners. My accommodation was in the condo nearby with a beauty bedroom, sitting area and small kitchen. Great location with easy access to the State Capitol and nearby restaurants. Across from the park too, which is lovely. This is a great place to stay in Albany.

Just as one other reviewer noted: if the breakfast would be slightly better, this place would be a Michelin star place. But the staff is AMAZING (capital letters) One would not be disappointed

There are two buildings, a mansion at 393 State and a free-standing "annex" at 399. The beautifully appointed living room and the modern kitchen/breakfast room are in the mansion. My room was in the annex, a few steps away. It was large and luxurious, with a comfy queen bed, seating area, bathroom with a tub, even an anteroom leading to the bathroom. The kitchen is clearly built to accommodate long-term stays, with a dishwasher, full-sized fridge, oven and microwave. Breakfast, included in the price, offers quiche, hard-boiled eggs, cereal, bagels. Juice, coffee... Lots of choices! And the staff couldn't have been more helpful. I will return.

We loved our visit the exquisite Morgan State House Inn. We stayed in the annexed studio apartment 3 doors down, with a handy kitchenette. The room was immaculate and well appointed with period details. It was still wintery, so we appreciated having control over the radiator (we prefer a cooler room). Continental breakfast in the main inn was simple - the baked goods were so delicious. The staff were kind and helpful. We would definitely book again.

I stayed at this quaint bed and breakfast while on a quick overnight trip for a conference. I booked the night before and sent a text to the number on the website. The owner responded immediately and was so nice. I stayed in the artist loft on the top floor. It was a gorgeous room full of light. I don't a dreamy evening there reading and listening to the rain. I was able to walk to my favorite restaurant and wine store. The inn has snacks and is just so clean and well kept. The owners are so friendly. There is breakfast every morning, always tea and coffee and snacks like apple cinnamon muffins (homemade!) available. There are quite a few stairs to get to the top floor. If you have mobility issues definitely reach out to the owners and they will recommend the best room. Also, there is protected parking. Love this place! When I return I will stay.
