We arrived at the hotel quite late into the evening and was greeted by a smiley relaxed gracious host. The building is amazing and very authentic. Be prepared to walk up a steep hill from town can be quite exhausting especially when it's hot. This was our 30th wedding anniversary and we couldn't have found a more relaxing place if we tried. We highly recommend Totelya Hotel if you just want to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. This was like being at home and we enjoyed every minute of our stay.

Totelya is built in the beautiful neo-Anatolian style (for lack of a better word) that you see all over Akyaka. The decor is a similar traditional/modern mix, with handcrafts next to contemporary art and ceramics. Rooms are basic (don't expect a safe or minibar) but clean, comfortable and pleasing to the eye. Breakfast is amazing, even by Turkish standards. Rather than an open buffet, food just keeps coming to your table - omelette, fritters (müjver), cake, jam, pancakes ... Nearly all of it is home made by the owners. The only problem is getting out of your chair afterwards!
