Fairfield Inn & Suites Aguascalientes

The staff is excellent, the rooms are clean, there is a nice gym and even a rooftop pool. I especially enjoyed the included breakfast (tasted great and staff was caring and attentive) and the people at the desk (helpful and simply nice to talk to and get suggestions on food, etc.) I was here for work but when at the hotel you get rest and a relaxed atmosphere that prepares you for the next day.

This property quotes prices in dollars but then converts the price to Pesos at about a 24% premium on the actual rate. At my stay the official rate was 17.76 but the hotel converted their USD price to Pesos at 21.99. At checkin they just ran my card for the higher amount and hoped I wouldn’t notice. I did notice and challenged the agent. She explained that she couldn’t charge my card in dollars and had to make a conversion. I didn’t accept the explanation. After much haggling, they refunded the rate difference to me but it was very time consuming and a big hassle involving both the managers on duty. I do my best to avoid properties that engage in the double conversion scam. If you must stay try to book your rate in Pesos. The hotel was otherwise fine and on the Fairfield brand. A lower average but reliable and functional place to stay

We stayed 2 nights in this hotel when in town for the Feria San Marcos. I'd stay there again if passing through Aguascalientes. Location - It's extremely convenient for the highway coming from Guadalajara, and only a 15-20 minute true to the Isla San Marcos, but is less convenient for access to the city center. The hotel is in a business park with a number of restaurants - pizza, Japanese, and at least two Mexican restaurants; a bank; a pharmacy/clinic, and it looks like other businesses are on the way. Plenty of free parking. Rooms - the room was comfortable and we slept well, but the AC isn't adequate for very hot days. We reserved two queen beds and got one king and what they said was queen, but felt like 1 King and 1 full bed. There is room for improvement - the hair dryer didn't work, pillows were small and flat, there was hand soap for the sink but no soap in the shower, they only gave us 2 towels for 4 people, the microwave didn't work, there was no luggage rack. Our room did have two large TVs with good TV options. (And to be fair, I didn't ask the hotel to fix any of these problems, but am confident they would have at least fixed the towels, soap, and pillows if we had asked.) Breakfast - decent selection of food but the breakfast room is not nearly big enough when the hotel is full. We were there with several large musical groups and sport teams all trying to get breakfast at once, and the poor server could not keep up at all. Service - customer serve was good. Check in was easy and everyone we encountered helpful.
