We had a booking for 2 nights confirmed by *********** We additionally confirmed it with the hotel by phone the day before. En route to the hotel our train was delayed so we called the hotel to advise of this. We were told not to worry. Upon arrival (& despite being shown our *********** confirmation) the hotel told us they didn’t have a room for us. We relocated to approx 800m away at another hotel. Pretty poor really.

Pros -Location is very close to the Taj Mahal Staff is friendly Cons- Dinghy small rooms with no ventilation Lots of mosquitoes & insects inside the room AC was not working properly and it was very hot inside the room ..Blankets were thick rugs ...Had an uncomfortable night with mosquitoes & heat

Staying in hotel sheel was not worthwhile. The feeling of deluxe accomodation was not there. Although the staff was very nice and well behaved but something was missing which they can improve with investing some money on the renovation. Overall it was a fair experience.

I recommend the Sheela hotel which is 100 meters from the Taj Mahal. I paid 15€ for the room, which I found OK. The bathroom is very basic. But for the price paid, it's very good. In France I would have paid between 50 and 70€ for the same room. The staff is very welcoming and the restaurant has very good dishes as good as the luxury restaurants where I have eaten and for a very low price. Perfect for small budgets.
