Hume Serviced Apartments

The apartment had lots of cockroaches, including one that fell out of the toaster when we picked it up. We had booked for four nights but didn’t stay & moved to a hotel in the CBD. The man on reception didn’t seem surprised & is refusing to engage with ******* to give us our money back.

The apartments are conveniently situated which was the reason for our stay. On arrival we found the our deluxe two bedroom apartment very disappointing. The carpet was filthy, lounges had numerous stains and the shower had mould in the door runners and corners. My wife found the vacuum cleaner only to discover the bag was full. After emptying she vacuumed the floor a number of times nearly filling the bag again. We went to the local IGA and bought a bottle of bleach. My wife cleaned the shower and bathroom before it was able to be used. The kitchen is very inadequate for an apartment. There is no oven only two hotplates and a microwave. As we were staying a week we often use the oven, this is why we booked an apartment. The kitchen had minimal cookware, lacking basics like salt and pepper and only enough dishwashing liquid for one wash. The apartments are very tired and need a bit of a refurbish to command the price they charge.

We had booked a 2 bedroom apartment. It was on the 7th floor. We were informed upon our arrival on Saturday afternoon that the lift wasn’t functioning, and couldn’t be repaired until Monday. To be fair we were offered a refund, but due to our engagements just one street over, we decided to take the hike upstairs. Chris, who was manning reception, couldn’t be faulted, and even helped us move some of our luggage. He was extremely responsive to our request for towels, soap etc - all of which were originally inadequately provided. At that late stage, there was no other available accommodation in the area, so we stayed for the second night. The accommodation was comfortable, and quiet, but the attention to detail was really lacking - stains on the carpet, a piece of carpet missing from the floor, no shower caddy, greasy finger marks on the doors etc. We probably could have happily worked around those issues, but we are a party of 3 people in our 70s on a 10 day road trip, with plenty of luggage. The lift isn’t a luxury. We were terribly disappointed, and wouldn’t ever risk booking there again.

Terrific position and basically comfortable but not a good choice if you want more than a place to sleep. The kitchen area lacks some basics like pepper and salt. There was no coffee, and no dish scourer. The antique 2009 Sanyo tv didnt work and there was no manual. The place needs more care from a thoughtful housekeeper. On the positive side there was good internet and very efficient and helpful communication from reception and care taken to make sure keycards worked etc -- you could do a lot worse.

My family and I stayed in this apartment for 4 nights in June'23. We stayed in a two bed room apartment on the 6th floor facing the hills. The location of the apartment was very close to city centre. There are restaurants with in short walking distance. The bus stand is 2-3 minutes walk away. The first bedroom was bigger with a queen bed, wall wardrobe and heat/AC. 2nd bedroom was bit smaller with a double bed and a wall wardrobe, but no heater/AC. The open kitchen was big, having refrigerator, microwave, electric kettle, dishwasher etc. Necessary Tableware, cutlery, dish washing liquid, dishwasher table, kitchen towel, etc was provided. Dinner space and living room was open and big with a wall heater/ AC. We had very good views from the balcony. There was one big bathroom with washing machine and dryer. Entire apartment was clean. Free WiFi had good speed. The apartment Manager was very helpful. The paid car park entry was from the back street. Before checking in, we had problem with our car parking in front of apartment as there was no empty car parking space on the road. We have enjoyed our stay at Hum Serviced Apartment and would request others to stay there.

The apartment we booked looked lovely on first glance but it we quickly discovered the blankets and doonas were filthy, and upon further investigation so were the mattresses . The doonas should have been thrown out, they looked as they had seen a fair bit of use and very little washing. The shower was very mouldy and leaked into the bathroom, thank fully we were able to get some extra towels to clean up the bathroom flood. The large mat in the foyer outside our room was also filthy and the whole building looked very uncared for. Provisions in the kitchen such as tea, coffee, dishwasher tablets and dishwaser liquid were very minimal. For the price paid per night, I would have expected a lot more.

Stayed in Apartment 104 for 4 nights whilst in Adelaide with friends for a sporting event. Two bedroom apartment that faces the road (Hume Street). Spacious kitchen, dining, living area - opens on to balcony . Bedroom one has a large comfortable queen bed. Bedroom two has two singles. Bathroom is a bit tired and the shower recess could do with some new silicon/grouting but was adequate for our stay. Water was hot with good pressure. Had a washing machine and dryer in the bathroom. Everything you need - (except they forgot to leave us a tea towel - but we coped). Secure entrance. Reception closes at 5pm. Close to restaurants and supermarket on Hutt Street. Bit of noise from the street at times during the night but still got a good sleep. Even though it says 'serviced apartments ' they were not serviced during our stay. Great for what we needed, would stay again.

The view is great from floor 6. The rooms were great. Location was great.Tiday and clean But the kitchen facilities were POOR A self contained apartment with NO OVEN, NO CHOPPING BOARD, LIMITED POTS ETC Please if you are going to advertise as a SELF CONTAINED 2 BEDROOM APARTMENT and expect $500 per night provide us families with MORE KITCHEN EQUIPMENT.
