First and foremost, I want to commend the entire staff for being extremely welcoming, warm, professional, and doing their absolute best to accommodate me on my stay at The Row. Unfortunately, they can only do so much when the building has so many structural problems and missing amenities that it made staying here a pretty unpleasant experience. Upon arrival, my room smelled disgusting due to a plumbing issue in the bathroom. Also, the shower leaked due to faulty caulking; overhead shower was clogged, forcing me to use the handheld attachment; and the mini fridge didn't work. The staff flushed some chemicals down the toilet, which got rid of the smell for about an hour before coming back. Fridge was replaced, but that one didn't work either. They then moved me into what was apparently the only other available room. Thankfully no smell in this one, but the shower door was missing, which caused water to leak out all over the bathroom floor. I also couldn't use the overhead shower because of this, and was again stuck with the handheld. The manager informed me of this beforehand, but I felt like I had no choice but to accept the room since it was supposedly the only one available. The fridge also didn't work in here...so 3 broken fridges, but the fact that there weren't microwaves in either of the rooms made the point kind of moot. The window didn't close all the way because the frame wasn't installed properly, so some mosquitoes made their way inside. Not a good impression at all, and absolutely not what one should expect from a place trying to pass itself off as a 5-star hotel. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone, unless you're on budget and are willing to tolerate these issues. Additional Cons: - WiFi was horrible; slow and very unstable. I got better WiFi at the coffee shop around the corner. - Only hotel I've ever been to without a microwave. What's the point of having a fridge with no way to heat your food? - No hair dryer (again, a first for me) - Bathroom is very poorly lit, yet there are almost too many lights in the main living space - Entrance to the lobby flooded whenever it rained, creating a safety hazard. I almost slipped and fell twice. The main elevator also stopped working one time it rained. - Entry door is not sound proof; you can hear any little noise someone makes outside the room - Annoying elevator music playing in the hallways almost all day until past midnight, which can be heard through the thin door - No breakfast Pros: - Safe location near plenty of shops and restaurants - Cheaper than most of the other higher-end hotels in the area - Close to the airport - Very responsive staff - Great interior decorating comparable to any other fancy hotel - Complimentary bottled water, slippers, and delicious local tea - Free safe to store valuables (unheard of at most hotels in the US) - Decent restaurant on site - Laundry service (pay-per-item)
