Awesome! Friendly staff, clean rooms, and great amenities. We came up for a golf weekend and we weren’t disappointed. The course was well maintained but play was a little slow. The on site restaurants had great decor and the food was amazing. We’ll be back.

Did a long weekend at Grand Traverse. Accommodations - We had condos that slept 4. That was 3 bedrooms and a pull out sofa. Good to know going in...we thought each of us had a bed, so the sofa was a bit of a surprise. Each condo had a living room (that had the pull out) and a kitchen, balcony, right on the Spruce Run course. Golf - Three courses that share a range, clubhouse. The Bear is a Nicklaus design, one of the best courses in Michigan, but a bit on the difficult side. The Wolverine was designed by Gary Player. While there is a lot of water and trees, it's a very fair course and easy to score on. The Spruce Course is the original course and nice, but by far the lowest rated of the three. Food - The clubhouse is very large with a big outdoor patio, good options and where we spent most of the time after golf. The hotel has dining options as well, a bit more upscale at the rooftop restaurant. Gym - Good fitness center that is a standalone building, has tennis courts as well.

Who thought it was a good idea to book a wedding reception outside next to the hotel blaring late into the night? We are talking stupid loud. Utterly ridiculous that at the rates being paid there is ZERO consideration for the hundreds of guests. Called front desk and reception had no clue. Last time here.

Our first and last stay at the resort. It’s a beautiful resort from the outside. Our room was in the hotel. The room smelled musty. We opened the window a crack turned up the air and hoped that would help. We returned to our room at 11:30 pm after our event. It was still awful! The shower was lukewarm and barely any water pressure. Upon mobile checkout another $46.50 was added to our $233 charge for Resort Fees!! Probably our worst hotel experience ever.

Will never be staying here again. Front desk staff was unacceptable and extremely rude. We needed a 1 hour later check out time which the front desk staff told me they could not grant until the morning of check out which did not work for us as we had an online appointment for a client that required confidentiality. I stopped by again the evening before requesting the late check out so I didn't have to cancel my appointment and the staff finally granted it after some pushing on my end. However, there was now going to be a charge on the room for late check out. No one had mentioned this fee and the website did not state it either. When I showed the front desk staff the webpage she just shrugged her shoulders and asked if I wanted to be charged. Not only was this all happening, our room keys would only work once before never working again. I had to get multiple replacements from the front desk who would reprimand me each time. When my guest attempted to replace her room key, the front desk staff denied her request and when I called them to say it was OK to give her a key, the still refused. I had to leave my meeting to get a replacement key. Completely unacceptable behavior for a resort that should have been a world class stay.

I'm surprised by the low overall rating! While this isn't a 5 star resort, it's better than 3.5! I arrived and easily found free parking near the entrance. I was allowed to check in a little before the 4 checkin time. I was in an 8th floor room with a decent view on the parking lot side. Wish I had a lake view, but it was fine. I appreciated having a fridge in the room. The bathroom was great, bright, with a huge glass wall shower. The bed was very comfortable with plenty of pillows. The AC blows directly onto the head of the bed, which was rather annoying. I could hear conversations in the next room, which was surprising. Everything was very clean and other than some noise issues, I was very happy in the room. The area around the elevator was pretty neat - several shops and a neat ice cream shop. While I didn't use the pools, they looked really great. I didn't golf but the course looked very well maintained. The facility itself is a bit of a maze and could be better marked. There were a few times I was wandering aimlessly looking for a few locations. Had a dinner at the NIIJII restaurant and it was simply poor. Bad quality at normal resort pricing. I did attend a group reception one evening and the food was outstanding. I had a very nice stay. Wouldn't go out of my way to return.

This was the second year of our family trip. Last year was perfect. This year (2024) began with several hiccups. These included two of the 3 condos' air conditioners not working and the family not being together on the same floor. HOWEVER, AJ, the manager, Stacey, the front desk person, and Tom, the engineer, provided exceptional service. AJ was 100% accountable and empathetic. Stacey maintained her smile and composure as my frustration intensified, and Tom dropped by the condo to check on us the following day. What began as a bit of a nightmare, AJ and the staff recovered and provided an exceptional customer experience. Recognizing that "things" can go wrong, I was extremely impressed with the overall service. And yes, we made our reservations for 2025! Dr. KL

Stayed here for a work event. It seemed a little less tired than it did six or seven years ago but the facility lacks any energy or enthusiasm. At check in they were the most emphatic over the fact that they would not be servicing the room daily. They did not seem happy to have a guest I guess. At $500 a night it's not too much to ask for regular service. It's fine to ask if I want to opt out but it seemed like a strange thing to stress at check in. In the elevator foyer the same trash stayed on the floor morning through night so no one visited the floor during the day. If you like an extremely soft bed you will find one here. The bed was uncomfortable to me. The buffet style food served during the meetings was not very good. The salmon was fishy (you know what I mean) and the beef was tough. For a high end hotel the staff was lackluster. Physically, the hotel is a grand structure but it presents a little like a nice mall that has lost it's edge. The acoustics in the meeting rooms was not good. Room rates in TC are high but you can't really justify this at $500 a night. I would not stay here on my own nickel or without a deep discount.
